- 04.) EASY, NORMAL, HARD - G0400
- ===============================================================================
- ===============================================================================
- The game features three difficulty settings, and here I'll explain the
- differences between them.
- 1. EASY MODE
- - HP automatically recovers between battles.
- - 0,75x modifier is applied to enemy stats.
- - You cannot obtain all enemy item drops (those will be greyed out).
- - EP obtained after battles is graded like this: big enemy 4 EP, medium enemy 1
- EP, and small enemy about 0,25 EP.
- - Gil dropped by enemies is 50% less than on NORMAL mode.
- - Certain EP abilities cost less to use (for example Teleport costs 2 EP).
- - Using EP ability Escape gives no penalty to remaining time for current day.
- - If the enemy strikes Light [BAD encounter], no HP penalty is incurred.
- 2. NORMAL MODE
- - HP does not recover between battles.
- - Enemy stats are at default value.
- - You cannot obtain all enemy item drops (those will be greyed out).
- - EP obtained after battles is graded like this: big enemy 2 EP, medium enemy
- 0,5 EP, and small enemy about 0,12 EP.
- - Some EP abilities' costs are higher than on EASY (like Teleport with 3 EP).
- - Using EP ability Escape returns Light to the same state as before entering
- combat, but 1 hour passes on remaining time for current day.
- - If the enemy strikes Light [BAD encounter], she takes 5% MAX HP as damage.
- 3. HARD MODE
- - This mode can only be selected after you defeat final storyline boss on
- either Day 13 or Day 14.
- - HP does not recover between battles.
- - 3,5x modifier is applied to enemy stats.
- - You can obtain all enemy item drops.
- - EP obtained after battles is graded like this: big enemy 1 EP, medium enemy
- 0,25 EP, and small enemy about 0,06 EP.
- - Gil dropped by enemies is 50% more than on NORMAL mode.
- - Some EP abilities' costs are higher than on EASY (example Teleport for 3 EP).
- - Using EP ability Escape returns Light to the same state as before entering
- combat, but 1 hour passes on remaining time for current day.
- - If the enemy strikes Light [POOR encounter], she takes 5% MAX HP as damage.
- - Certain weapons and shields can only be obtained in this mode.
- - 13 garbs can obly be obtained on this mode, and all are bought in shops.
- 4. PALLAS ATHENA GARB
- - To get Pallas Athena garb (obtain Platinum Trophy), you do NOT have to play
- on HARD mode, as all trophies can be obtained on EASY mode.
- ===============================================================================
- ===============================================================================
- 05.) NEW GAME PLUS - G0500
- ===============================================================================
- ===============================================================================
- 1. You can start a NG+ in three ways:
- A - Getting Game Over by running out of days.
- B - Completing the game by defeating the final boss.
- C - While already on NG+, a green hourglass (Crystal of Atonement) appears in
- the Ark from second day onward. Examine the hourglass and confirm your
- choice twice to immediately suspend your current game progression. Make a
- save and use it to start the game from beginning. This is much better than
- having to manually truck through the days.
- Note: another Crystal of Atonement is available on Final Day before the
- cathedral, should you change your mind.
- 2. When you start a New Game+ (regardless of how achieved), you retain:
- - All items, except quest items.
- - All weapons, except one weapon which you get in final dungeon.
- - All shields, except one shield which you get in final dungeon.
- - All accessories.
- - Accumulated statistic bonuses, EP and ATB increments, as well as item slots.
- Even if you completed quest X on first play, complete it again on second play
- for a second (smaller) statistic boost.
- - Gil obtained.
- - All garbs and adornments collected.
- - EP abilities obtained.
- - Any and all quest progression is not carried over.
- - Enemies slain counter is not carried over. This counter is important for
- Omega enemies (I'll explain more on that in the walkthrough). Omega enemies
- are called the Last Ones in the game, but when you fight one, it has a greek
- sign for "omega" next to its name, hence my calling Omega enemies.
- - Accessories can now be upgraded (read next bullet for more info).
- 3. When you start a NG+ from a save on which you defeated final boss, you can:
- - You can choose HARD mode.
- - You gain the ability to upgrade shields and weapons at the Forges. To upgrade
- a weapon or shield, you need cash and upgrade materials. Mats are either
- dropped by enemies of bought from certain shops. Weapons and shields can also
- be downgraded, if you so choose.
- - Accessories are upgraded a bit differently. To cite an example: when you get
- to Luxerion for the first time, you begin just before the N train station.
- Look to your left to spot a ladder. Climb it and jump to nearby railing to
- find a treasure ball with accessory inside. When you open this same treasure
- ball again on NG+, the accessory you got on first round will get upgraded.
- You can upgrade it one more time on NG++. However, on NG+++ you will then get
- cash instead.
- - Forges carry more powerful equipment if you play on HARD.
- - Damage output is increased by adding a new option in settings menu - Limit
- Break. Get it by collecting treasure cube in the Ark on Day 1. When this
- option is ON, Lighty's STR and MAG can be increased to 9999, instead of
- capped 5000. And her HP can be increased to staggering 99999 HP!
- However, you're not graded after boss or Omega battles, and you can't submit
- scores. You can still obtain trophies though.
- 4. Completing main quests, subquests or Canvas of Prayers quests that you have
- already completed in previous playthrough will yield lesser rewards in terms
- of stat boosts. You get more gil, though.
- ===============================================================================
- ===============================================================================
- 06.) WALKTHROUGH - G0600
- ===============================================================================
- ===============================================================================
- First off, here is some important advice to take with you.
- 1. By completing six main quests and subquests, which HAVE to be completed as
- part of main quests, you can accumulate enough Eradia for Yggdrasil to bloom
- six times (equals six additional days) in order for Light to reach Day 13.
- 2. However, Yggdrasil can bloom seven times - five orbs will bloom on tree's
- stem, then tree's flower blooms partially, and finally tree's flower blooms
- completely into an orb.
- 3. Completing all six main quests and at least 40 subquests before the end of
- Day 12 has following effects:
- - Yggdrasil blooms for the 7th time, therefore you can reach Day 14!
- - On Day 13 you get access to Ultimate Lair bonus dungeon.
- - On NG+ you get to fight different version of final boss.
- - In order to reach Day 14, you must complete at least 40 subquests. ATM
- I confirm that having 40 subquests is enough to reach Day 14. Kouli
- comments that 37 subquests is enough, which I shall test in the course of
- this walkthrough.
- - After blasting final boss, you can enjoy extra ending scene.
- 4. Depending on which day you decide to complete MAIN quests, you may fight a
- different version of the boss for that quest. This applies to main quests 1,
- 2, and 4.
- 5. Completing MAIN quests may award any or all of the following:
- - HP boost
- - STR boost
- - MAG boost
- - EP counter boost
- - ATB bar boost
- - Item slot expansion
- - gil
- 6. Completing subquests may award any or all of the following:
- - HP boost
- - STR boost
- - MAG boost
- - Item slot expansion
- - gil
- - garb
- - weapon
- - shield
- - adornment
- 7. Completing Canvas of Prayers quests may award any or all of the following:
- - HP boost
- - STR boost
- - MAG boost
- - gil
- - weapon
- - shield
- - adornment
- - item
- 8. There are 66 subquests in the entire game.
- - Luxerion has 20 subquests.
- - Yusnaan has 16 subquests.
- - Wildlands have 22 subquests.
- - Dead Dunes have 8 subquets.
- 9. There are 83 Canvas of Prayers quests in the entire game.
- - Luxerion has 13 quests.
- - Yusnaan has 14 subquests.
- - Wildlands have 25 subquests.
- - Dead Dunes have 18 subquets.
- - And finally 13 global quests, accessible from any Canvas.
- 10. The maximum amount of completed subquests on FIRST playthrough is 64, and
- on any subsequent playthrough 65.
- - There's a quest in Dead Dunes that can only be completed in NG+.
- - One Luxerion subquest must be failed in order to access another subquest.
- You can complete all Canvas of Prayers quests on any playthrough.
- 11. Depending on whether or not you strike the enemy to initiate a battle:
- - Striking unaware enemy begins the battle with all enemies at 75% MAX HP.
- - Striking aware enemy begins the battle with all enemies at 90% MAX HP.
- - Light suffers 5% MAX HP penalty if enemy strikes her (not valid on EASY).
- 11. Three real life seconds equal one ingame minute. So rounding it down 72
- real life minutes equal 1 ingame day. The game stops time while you're in
- menus, cutscenes, or battles. The only exception is Ultimate Lair, where
- time flows even when yu're in a battle.
- 12. Here are several instances on how to recover your HP.
- - Play on EASY mode where HP autorecovers between battles.
- - Use items like Potions from item menu.
- - Regen buff, applicable thru various means like specific potions, or as an
- auto-ability of certain equipment.
- - Curaga EP ability.
- - Sleep at a hotel.
- - Eat at a restaurant.
- - Mediguard ability.
- - Certain auto-abilities of accessories.
- 13. Be sure to read the section on Rare Forge!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
- MAIN QUEST 0-1
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
- Select your difficulty mode - personally I'd recommend EASY, since the game is
- played quite differently from FFXIII, or FFXIII-2. You also have access to the
- same stuff as if you'd play on NORMAL, plus since enemies drop more EP, you can
- accomplish more during the days. But in the end, it's up to you. I'll be basing
- the walkthrough on NORMAL mode.
- If you have Internet connection to your console, I advise turning on Outworld
- Service as it will be of huge assistance. During you travels you may encounter
- people or animals with bluish text above them. Talking to such a person or an
- animal will bring you to a menu from which you can sometimes buy an item or a
- weapon. Be on the lookout for Ether (2800 gil) and Turbo Ether (5600 gil) -
- these two items recover EP gauge, which can prove to be a lifesaver in certain
- situations. Sometimes you may be lucky and get an Elixir offered! If you have
- 360000 gil to spare, buy the Elixir for a trophy.
- - The Patron's Palace / The Ballroom
- After the intro scene Lighty is thrust into the first battle. Pass [Schemata]
- tutorial and follow the instructions, then kill Anubys foe. Post-battle you get
- to wrestle with [Camera Settings] tutorial and then you can move around the
- area. Subdue all foes present, and when you fight another Anubys you'll be
- greeted with [Guard] tutorial.
- With all foes defeated, continue up the stairs and a robed person will teach
- you about [Recovery Items]. Buy Potions for all items slots - you start with
- six items slots, but it can be increased by completing main quests and one
- specific subquest. Continue upstairs to see Snow OHKO an enemy and run forward.
- Hold R2 to dash, but this drains the blue bar in lower left. If it drains
- completely, you have to wait for small cooldown before you can dash again.
- - The Patron's Palace / Passageway
- When you enter a battle with at least two enemies, prepare for [Changing
- Targets] tutorial. Continue after Snow, climbing the ladders and whatnot until
- you get to blocked passage. On one of pillars nearby is the switch you need to
- press to open the path. Carry on and you smash it up with friendly neighborhood
- dragon Zaltys.
- [Staggering] tutorial is presented. Assault the foe with Thunder until you
- achieve stagger, then switch to the other garb and continue using regular
- attack's on Zaltys' head to get second stagger. At this point dragon falls on
- the ground and is completely helpless for duration of stagger. The game will
- now allow you to use your first EP ability Overclock. For the cost of 2 EP
- Lighty's abilities are sped up and have no ATB cost, and all enemies' actions
- are slowed to a crawl. Overclock doesn't make you invincible, so you must still
- beware not to take on too much than you can chew.
- Anyway, activate Overclock and pester your enemy with physical attacks until it
- goes down. After the battle climb another ladder and push on to TM to end this
- quest.
- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
- WLK02 - WELCOME TO THE ARK
- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
- - The Ark / Divine Garden
- If you want to play Lightning dress-up, she can get 71 garbs in the game. 57 on
- your first playtrough, 13 on HARD playthrough, and last garb when you obtain
- Platinum trophy. She starts with two garbs already - EQUILIBRIUM and DARK MUSE.
- Official guide technically counts 74 in-game garbs, so let me explain. Way
- later in the game three of your existing garbs get upgraded. They retain same
- name, but get a "+" added on the end, and their abilities change. Visually they
- still remain the same, though - so that's why I count 71 garbs instead of 74.
- Begin by collecting four TC floating around to get weapon DEVIL'S DAUGHTER,
- shield PRYTWEN, BLIZZARD LV1 & LIGHT GUARD LV1, and a garb MIST WIZARD. When
- you collect all TCs, [Customizing Schemata] tutorial rears its ugly head.
- Complete it and you obtain EP ability Escape - for no EP cost you can escape
- from any battle, but it comes with a penalty. If you're playing on NORMAL /
- HARD, one hour passes on the remaining time for the current day. If you check
- main menu, you'll see "EP abilities" menu with another EP ability Curaga (for 2
- EP you can completely recover your HP).
- Now you have to examine the bookshelf with Book of Conquests on it, and choose
- to fight Zaltys from Main Quest 0. A handy [EP Abilities] tutorial pops up - as
- for the foe, just repeat what you did several minutes ago, or choose Escape
- like the tutorial asked you to. While in the Ark battles, you can freely expend
- EP and items which are then refreshed and returned to you upon conclusion of
- the battle.
- Okiedokie, talk to Hope several times to get the lowdown on what is going on
- and what you're supposed to do. Eventually he gives you two choices, so pick
- top one. For a certain EP cost you can buy some items:
- 1) Day 1: X-Potion (1EP) - full HP recovery
- Mega Remedy (1EP) - removes all debuffs, buffs: Veil
- Phoenix Down (1EP) - revive from KO, buffs: Protect, Shell, Veil
- Warrior's Potion (1EP) - recovers HP, buffs: Faith, Bravery
- Holy Water (1EP) - recovers HP, buffs: Protect, Shell
- 2) Day 6: X-Potion (1EP) - full HP recovery

- Regen Potion (2EP) - recovers HP, buffs: Regen
- Reraise Potion (3EP) - recovers HP, buffs: Reraise
- 3) Day11: X-Potion (1EP) - full HP recovery

- You can get more background info for your primer by picking second choice, and
- when you're done, go to warp device and examine it, then confirm you're ready.
- Each time you complete main quests and certain subquests, Hope gets new
- information you can talk to him about.
- Each time you come back to the Ark, you'll find treasure cube/s with some
- goodies inside.

- IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT UPGRADING AND TREASURES!
- 1) On first playthrough you can level up your abilities at Sorcery Shop from
- Day 6 onward.
- 2) Accessories can be upgraded on any type of NG+. Example:
- - On 1st playthrough you collect Satin Scrunchie from TB.
- - On 2nd playthrough you collect Satin Scrunchie from same TB, but it
- upgrades into Satin Scrunchie+.
- - On 3rd playthrough you collect Satin Scrunchie from same TB, but it
- upgrades into Ribbon.
- - On any subsequent playthrough you get 2500 gil from same TB.
- 3) Treasure balls that yield bangle accessories and Sheafs (or items that let
- you know enemy vulnerabilities and stagger conditions) award you with 1500
- gil or a sellable-only item on subsequent playthroughs.
- 4) Sealed treasure balls with pin or bangle accessories award huge amounts of
- gil on subsequent playthroughs.
- 5) Weapons and shields can only be upgraded on NG+ save, which was started from
- cleared data on which you defeated final storyline boss.
- 6) You need special materials in order to level abilities or upgrade weapons
- and shields. Mats are dropped by enemies, or bought from Adventuring
- Essentials merchants.
- IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT ENEMIES GROWING STRONGER!
- 1) As days pass in the game, most enemies will grow progressively stronger.
- 2) Boosts for enemies occur on days 7, 10, 13 and 14.
- 3) Omega foes fought within the Ark will always have stats of Day 13 version.
- 4) Item drops you can obtain from enemies depending on difficulty mode, and
- which day you encounter the enemy.
- NEW GAME PLUS DETAILS ABOUT THE ARK
- 1) When you arrive in Ark from NG+ save on which you defeated final boss, there
- is a new TC in center of the room. Open it for PROOF OF OVERCOMING LIMITS.
- 2) A new option appears in settings - Limit Break Settings. Setting it to ON
- allows Lighty's HP to exceed usual HP, STR and MAG caps. STR and MAG can now
- max out at 9999 value, and HP can be boosted to 99999 HP.
- 3) On day 2 you will find Crystal of Atonement next to the book shelves. This
- crystal allows you to immediately suspend current game progress and make a
- clear data save. Upon loading this save you again begin at day 1.
- 4) New TCs appear on each day, though this time they contain upgrade materials.
- 2nd day: 10x Mighty Material
- 3rd day: 5x Gold Malistone

- WLK03 - HOW WILL THE WALKTHROUGH BE WRITTEN
- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
- Dear readers, since there's no definite way I can think about writing the guide
- regarding the days remaining, this is how it shall be done.
- - I will not be writing the walkhrough per days, but per quests.
- - Main quests will have own subsection.
- - Sidequests per area will be grouped in own subsection.
- - Canvas of Prayers quests per area will be grouped in own subsection.
- - Contents of treasure balls will be grouped in own subsection. Also given will
- be the location of TB, with exceptions of TBs that you find in dungeons.
- - I will tell you if you have to return the next day in order to continue the
- quest. Therefore I hope that based on the information given you'll be able to
- figure out the best possible way to achieve as much as possible in one
- playthrough.
