  1. Declaration of Aims
  2.
  3. As we have all seen in recent weeks, scandals have begun to plague this nation.
  4.
  5. In light of the recent revelation regarding the National Security Agency’s “PRISM” program, as well as their collection of all telephone metadata, we have decided that enough is enough in regards to warrant-less spying upon the American people. We call upon the administration to immediately cease the PRISM program, and all other related programs which violate the 4th Amendment of the US Constitution.
  6.
  7. One may argue that the 4th Amendment does not protect us in the case of online communications through companies, but the semantics of the writing, which specifically says we shall be secure in all “papers and effects”, held great foresight, and indeed covers these exact problems. In addition to the cessation of these programs, we call upon all involved in the implementation of these programs to resign from their posts. In the event that these people do not, we call upon Congress, the direct representatives of the people, to do whatever is necessary to force their resignation. We, the People, have had enough.
  8.
  9. Purpose For the Protest:
  10.
  11. - To educate the public on unlawful Acts which facilitate the continued abuses by the NSA against the American people; this includes discussion of FISA’s secret courts, as well as the Constitutional issues;
  12. - To redress this trespass against the American people by calling for any and all accountable parties to resign from their duties of public office; and
  13. - To gather supporters in opposition of the PRISM program and any programs which threaten to infringe upon our right to privacy as guaranteed by our Constitution.
  14.
  15. Our Demands
  16.
  17. 1. Call for a congressional hearing and criminal investigation into the extent of domestic government surveillance programs and the constitutionality of these programs.
  18. 2. Shut down PRISM. It allows for violations of our Fourth Amendment rights by undermining the system of checks and balances in our government. If our currently elected representatives will not do so, then we shall, in the course of time, elect those who will.
  19. 3. End the abuse of ambiguously defined constraints on FISA, and plainly express its domain.
  20. 4. Call for the implementation of a transparent government that respects the Fourth Amendment and represents the interests of the people of the United States of America. We recognize the necessity of legal surveillance of those that mean to do us harm, but the legality of such programs should not be decided in secret courts behind closed doors.
  21. 5. Call for the removal of the Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, from office on the grounds of lying in response to Senator Ron Wyden's inquiries at an open Senate Intelligence Committee Hearing on March 12, 2013.
