  2. ---
  3. >After setting up his office in the hotel, Alastor decides to test Charlie to see how she handles a worst case scenario
  4. >He picks up the phone and dials a number he hasn't called in some time
  5. >The line picks up, and a gruff and obviously depressed voice comes in on the other side
  6. >"Why hello old friend! It's me, Alastor!"
  7. >The other voice begins swearing
  8. >"Now now, there's no need for bad language. So how have you been?"
  9. >The voice tells Alastor to leave him alone
  10. >"No can do my good sir! Besides, I'm calling about an amazing opportunity for you!"
  11. >The voice doesn't say anything
  12. >"You saw that interview on the moving picture show the other day? With the lovely Princess of Hell?"
  13. >The voice simply answers yes
  14. >"Well, I've decided to sponsor her establishment. And I want you to come as one of our guests!"
  15. >The voice asks Alastor if this is some kind of joke
  16. >"Somewhat. She seems convinced that she can 'redeem' the souls down here, and I want to see if she can handle someone extremely bad. Such as you, for example."
  17. >The voice simply sighs
  18. "Besides, don't you want to get into heaven? To escape the torment your sins created. Then again, considering what you did in that city, you might be as irredeemable as me!"
  19. >Alastor chuckles; the voice remains silent again
  20. >"Not to mention how you failed your comrades, and your obsession with that one guy, what was his name again Kurtz or something?"
  21. >The voice says nothing for a minute, before agreeing
  22. >"Excellent! I'll swing by and pick you up tomorrow! See you then.... Captain Walker."
  23. -
  24. >Angel Dust: "Do you even remember why you were there?"
  25. >Walker:".....We were trying to help people....."
  26. >Husk feeling some feels he felt during Nam instinctively passes down a beer to Walker
  27. >Alastor:"Do you feel like a hero yet?"
  28. -
  29. Figure I'll add onto my original idea with what I think Walker looks like in hell:
  30. >Still wears his tattered and burned battle uniform, with Konrad's dusty dress uniform coat over it
  31. >Still looks vaguely human
  32. >His body is made up of sand and white phosphorus that always seems to be swirling around
  33. >His eyes are two burning pieces of W.P.
  34. >Can generate fresh stripping sandstorms or rain burning pieces of W.P.
  35. >Can even combine both into a hellstorm like the one in the scene where Konrad says "welcome to hell"
  36. >Is considered as powerful as Alastor, but doesn't use his abilities often
  37. >Most other sinners avoid him as they never know if he's going to snap at that moment and either strip their flesh off with sand or burn them to nothing with phosphorus
  38. -
  39. I got an idea
  40.
  41. >when Walker is around, sinners got to be careful what music to play
  42. >last time, A sinner play "Deep Purple - Hush" out of nowhere, Walker start killing people left and right
  43. >as well a lot of sand & W.P
  44. >they don't understand why that happened but they never play it again
  45. -
  46. Nice. Definitely something I could see happening
  47. ----
  48. Thanks. And like I said yesterday, anybody else wants to add onto this idea, go ahead.
  49. -
  50. Well, depends on how willing you are to put up with all the anon/OC bullshit, because I have a couple of ideas.
  51. -
  52. I'm okay with the anon stuff as long as it doesn't go completely overboard with it
  53. -
  54. It would basically be the anons tip-toeing around him - well, those among them who are familiar with SO:TL -, while trying to explain to the others (including Charlie) why they need to be careful with Walker.
  55. We already have Doomguy, Jacket, the Ashen One, and Dr. Mangle (Josef Mengele) residing at the Hotel, so it would be interesting to see how they'd interact.
  56. -
  57. >Doomguy and The Ashen are pretty close, given how both are silent, have a wide variety of weapons, and love to kill demons/monsters.
  58. >They mostly view Jacket as a friend, though like the Anons, the non-anons don't agree with his hate towards all Slavs.
  59. >Then comes Mangle who they feel semi-neutral towards at the very least.
  60. -
  61. And then, you throw someone like Walker into the mix.
  62. >No Hell-defying badassery to inspire fear and awe
  63. >No otherworldly, mythical status to inspire reverence
  64. >No no neon-lit, retrotastic taste for ultraviolence to inspire familiarity
  65. >Not even the quasi-entertaining mental challenge of trying to separate the infamous past of Nazi war criminal with what is essentially the Medic made of human meatballs and razor blades
  66.
  67. >Just the uncomfortable reality of their times, that they couldn't push aside, now that it's no longer behind a screen
  68. >Just the volatile unpredictability of a war-worn man with the power of the warzone he left behind
  69.
  70. >Just... Tension. Anxiety. Fear.
  71.
  72. Terror.
  73. ---
  74. Does this mean Lugo and Adams are in Hell too?
  75. --
  76. If they are, they probably don't want to be anywhere near Walker
  77. --
  78. Imagine their reactions to the fact that Konrad was dead all along and that Walker led them to their deaths for nothing.
  79. --
  80. >Lugo and Adams run into Walker by accident
  81. >The ensuing fight results in half of the city looking like Dubai which doesn't help Walker's psyche at all.

  85. Anon who wrote the original here, I came up with this short bit earlier
  86. >A week or so after Walker first arrived at the Hotel
  87. >Things have settled into a normal routine again
  88. >While Charlie has met Walker, she hasn't had more than a minute to talk with him before Vaggie or someone else grabs her attention
  89. >On this day, most of the Hotel patrons are out doing errands, with only Charlie and Walker in the Hotel
  90. >Charlie decides she finally wants to get to know Walker better and invites him for tea
  91. >He accepts, mainly out of respect
  92. >The first half of their conversation is centered around Charlie and her upbringing in Hell
  93. >Things are going great, and Walker is relaxed
  94. >Then Charlie begins asking Walker about his past
  95. >He tries to dodge the questions as best as he can but she is relentless
  96. >She finally asks what led him to end up in Hell
  97. >Walker finally breaks, and begins telling her about what he did in Dubai
  98. >All of it: The desperate locals, killing the 33rd, using the white phosphorus, destroying the water supply, gunning down the mob that had lynched Lugo
  99. >Walker puts his head in his hands as the memories flood back
  100. >Charlie is speechless throughout Walker's confession
  101. >She's heard Husk's war stories, but those are nothing compared to this
  102. >Walker then gets up, apologizes, and excuses himself back to his room
  103. >Charlie sits alone for a few minutes before heading back to her office
  104. >She barely notices the tears beginning to streak down her face
