- puyt
- no
- infspire_
- You have no duties to any others in any contexts?*
- infspire_
- I put puyt on lifetime block.
- infspire_
- Reason: No duties to others in any contexts.
- infspire_
- If anybody would like me to refute their carnism, I can do it in a few questions.
- infspire_
- Here's a simple version:
- infspire_
- 1) You honor people in the past who made sacrifices for people in the future, right? For example, dying in World War 2, standing up to Nazis, refusing to leave towns by sunset, etc.
- infspire_
- 2) To honor something is to do more than just say 'I honor that thing', right? You have to modify your behavior at least somewhat so that it is congruent with their sacrifice. If somebody died protesting your right to vote, and you don't even vote, then you wouldn't be honoring that thing.
- infspire_
- 3) By not being vegan today, you're imposing tremendous costs on future humans in the form of climate change effects, ecosystem annihilation, and viral pandemics. We can lessen those harms by possibly 90% by having a vegan diet. Having a vegan diet, if you really don't want to do it, is a sacrifice. This sacrifice is far less substantial -- than dying to vote, or risking police brutality, or fighting on Normandy.
- infspire_
- 4) By not having a vegan diet, you're actually making it impossible to essentially value any sacrifice of any past person. It's all just talk that you contradict with your daily behavior.
- infspire_
- There are several ways out of these argument:
- infspire_
- For example, you could say I don't value people who have sacrificed for others.
- infspire_
- However, living in community with others entails sacrifice, and so you shall be banned from all communities if you don't value their necessary precursors, as you're just a parasite.
- infspire_
- Such as puyt.
- infspire_
- It seems it should be impossible to have communities without sacrifice. I'll give an example for physical communities and digital communities:
- infspire_
- 1) physical: your proximity to others entails risk for them as you may be a source of contagious pathogen without your knowing it
- infspire_
- 2) digital: the expressions of your mind may be propaganda/information warfare elements you don't recognize that harm the minds of those who receive them

- infspire_
- (There are some notions in anarcho-syndicalism/anarchism/libertarian socialism about communities free of coercion which might be argued as being near/equivalent to duty-free communities.
- infspire_
- I believe my two examples above refute that notion.
- infspire_
- This makes me think about what is the appropriate relationships between 'risk' in relationship/community and duty.
