  1. The morbid downfall and unconventional rising of Irina -by i95las
  2. One pleasant, autumn afternoon, Irina was walking towards her home. As always, she was accompanied by Andrei, her younger brother, and his two friends. Said friends were a Shinx, that went by the name of Zack, and Lucina, the Guild master’s daughter, who already left the fur coat of being an Eevee behind her, and became a Sylveon. Just like Irina, who also abandoned it, but instead, she became an Espeon. Yet Andrei chose to still remain an Eevee, because of his indecisiveness. They were all just teenagers at the time, Irina being 15 while her brother was 14, and his friends shared the same age as her.
  3. Their shadows danced in the light of the lazy sun that overlooked New Eve Town, as the group of four walked and chatted on the grey pavement street that surrounded the Guild. They could have already been back at their houses, but the four decided to hang more around town, especially because they didn`t have any homework for tomorrow.
  4. ``So, Andrei, what have you been doing lately?`` Zack asked the Eevee, while stuffing his face into some white cotton candy that he bought a few minutes ago. Because of this, his voice was somewhat muffled.
  5. ``The usual. Homework, reading, training, deliveries, going into Mystery Dungeon appropriate to my grade…`` Irina`s brother responded, somehow managing to hear the Shinx, while trying to look at him. But all he saw was cotton candy, swirling around in the slight breeze that took residence in the Square.
  6. ``What about some more personal things? I mean, I`ve been hearing things from Lucina…`` Zack continued his questioning session.
  7. ``Hm? Like what?``
  8. Irina was just staring in the distance, staring at the trees surrounding the square as the two spoke. After all, this conversation simply didn`t interest her, yet the girl decided to still listen to it. Who knew, maybe something interesting to her would come out of it.
  9. ``…Well, I told him that I spotted you looking quite a lot in Keyla`s direction.`` Lucina responded, in the Shinx`s place.
  10. ``Come forward.`` Irina suddenly heard a voice, that wasn`t hers, ring in her head. Clearly, someone formed a telepathic link with her. Normally, whenever this happened, the Espeon would just ignore them, or instantly break them. But this time, she couldn`t do either. The contact was too powerful, and too loud.
  11. ``W-what?`` Her brother asked his two friends, a little bit flustered. But the Espeon was a little bit startled for a moment, thinking that Andrei did so because he heard the same thing as her, before she realised for what actually that `what` was for.
  12. ``C`mon, don`t be so shy. There isn`t any issue to love someone like her…After all, it just shows how brave, or naïve, you are.`` The Sylveon continued to tease her small friend.
  13. ``C`mon, don`t be shy. Come forward, into the woods, and I shall tell you more about our Saviour, Yveltal.`` The voice rung again in the Espeon`s head, only making her panic further. From where did it know that she secretly praised Yveltal, after learning about Him from one of her father`s books, which gave a rather descriptive presentation about this promising religion, the Order of Yveltal, and their ideals?!
  14. ``B-but I`m not being shy! I really don`t like her in any way!`` Her brother continued his defence.
  15. ``…Hey, I don`t want to interrupt, but…Could I please go for a bit?`` Irina suddenly entered the conversation, after being mute for so long.
  16. ``Hm? Why?`` Lucina asked, taking a break from teasing her little friend.
  17. ``…Because I have to answer nature`s call…`` The Espeon awkwardly responded, while staring at the woods behind the market`s stalls, in which Pokemon of different species were trying to sell snacks, clothing items or items essential to Dungeon Crawling, at either good, or ridiculous, prices.
  18. ``Then, go for it, girl! Just don`t make us wait for too long!`` The Sylveon responded to Irina`s response, while trying to keep in a laughter.
  19. Hearing this, the Espeon quickly rushed into the part of the forest that was in front of her, just like how the ominous voice had asked. The girl`s curiosity decided to follow it, and see what was up with its odd requests. Worst case scenario, she could just use an Escape Orb, or one of the many wands in her bag.
  20. ``Yes, just a few more steps, and…`` Was all the voice said during her trip, before Irina emerged into a clearing. There, with her legs crossed beneath herself, a Gardevoir covered by a dark grey cloak was waiting for the Espeon, smiling. Irina could see that she was doing so because the Gardevoir`s cloak covered everything, but her face, and the sharp and red edge of her chest, which cut itself a hole through the cloak.
  21. ``Welcome, darling.`` The Gardevoir simply said, this time with her mouth, while staring at the Espeon.
  22. ``Who are you?`` Irina asked, while trying to seem calm. ``And how do you know so much about me?``
  23. ``Oh, I`m just a servant of Yveltal`s, helping however I can to bring His grace upon us.`` The strange Gardevoir responded to the first question of the Espeon. ``And to answer the other one…Well, for a psychic type, you really don`t know how to protect your brain from getting unwanted visitors…`` She then said, with a chuckle.
  24. ``…Then, what are you doing here?!``
  25. ``Oh, the Order simply brought me here to spy on the lives of those that aren`t loyal to Him, and bring forth those that are.``
  26. ``…So, you just sit in the woods all day long, reading the minds of anyone passing by, choosing those that want to be loyal to Yveltal, to join the Order?`` Irina ran down all that she gathered from the strange Gardevoir.
  27. ``Pretty much. But I also initiate those that I choose.`` The strange Pokemon responded, with a small chuckle.
  28. ``Though, I still have a question.``
  29. ``Hm?``
  30. ``How do you make sure that those that come here don`t make your position known to the Guild?`` Irina asked, clearly interested by the subject. After all, what stopped her from using an Escape Orb, then bailing for the Guild?
  31. ``Well, I firstly make sure that they truly want to join the Order, by reading their minds. That`s why you won`t do that. Because you desperately want to join the Order, and make yourself more well known, while reshaping the future of this region.`` The member of the Order answered, still chuckling.
  32. And she was right. Irina always hated staying in the shadow of her very own, younger brother. After all, Andrei was better than her at everything. The Eevee always got better grades, and praising for his Guild work. Which made sense, considering that he was the very first Pokémon under 18 years old to receive the third grade, and somehow managed to finish all of his missions in successes. Because of all of this, Irina hated him. Why did he have to be so popular, everyone seemingly bowing down towards him?! Irina wanted the same praising, no matter how she got it. And in her opinion, the best way was to get it through fear, while attempting to reshape the world in her image.
  33. ``Never mind…You are right. I won`t snitch on you, and instead, bow down to you…`` The Espeon finally responded, after some consideration.
  34. ``Then, meet me after dark falls, every day, until I decide that you are ready to join the Order. By doing so, I will teach you its ways.`` The Gardevoir responded, with a nod and a smile. ``Now, go, darling. Your friends are waiting for you.``
  35. Irina responded to her statement with a simple nod, before rushing out of the forest, back into the Square. There, she found all of her companions waiting for her.
  36. ``Damn, that was a big leak…`` Lucina comments, with a chuckle.
  37. ``Y-yeah, sorry about that…`` The Espeon responded, trying to seem embarrassed with herself.
  38. ``Don`t worry about it, sis! Unfortunately, though, we have to head back home…Its almost evening.`` Her little brother then joined the conversation, with his annoying, good for nothing smile.
  39. ``Yeah, let us do that…`` They all agreed, before they left the Square, and went to their homes.
  40. In the night of the very same day, after everyone in the Lup family house, except for Irina, fell asleep, the Espeon got out of it. She did so by silently making herself levitate out of her room, through its open window, into the forest behind the house.
  41. There, she was met by the strange Gardevoir, dressed just like before. And the same thing happened, again and again, for numerous nights in a row, until the Espeon was fully brainwashed by the Order of Yveltal.
  42. Then, one night…
  43. ``Congratulations, Irina! You`re almost done with the initiation!`` The Gardevoir greeted her.
  44. ``Then, what shall I do in order to fully finish it, and join The Order?`` Irina asked, already excited.
  45. ``Oh, just two things…One, sacrifice someone in the name of Yveltal, then…Bring the Stone that your dad keeps in his special drawer, to us.`` The Gardevoir responded, with a big grin on her face. ``But you have to do all of this tomorrow, in the morning.``
  46. ``Hm? Why can`t I do it while they are asleep, and vulnerable?`` The Espeon asked, now confused.
  47. ``Because you need to prove yourself worthy. Everyone can do what I asked, with those advantages. But not everyone can do it without them…``
  48. ``Ah, I see! Then, consider it done!`` Irina responded, overly cheerful, considering the atrocities she was about to commit. But the Espeon did not care. She`d do anything for the Order.
  49. ``Then, see you tomorrow, after you do both.`` The member of the Order simply responded.
  50. The next morning, everything went like always. Maria was the first one to wake up. Then she made breakfast, before kissing her, still asleep, husband and children goodbye, on their foreheads, and leaving for work. After that, Kenza was the next to wake up. The Leafeon immediately went to wake up his children, then went to have a hearty breakfast.
  51. Seeing his office unattended, Irina quickly went into it. There, she was struck by luck. After a long night of experimenting with the Stone of Violence, the clumsy Leafeon forgot to put it back in its place, in a drawer under his desk, protected by a lock. Because of this clumsiness, the Espeon was able to quickly snatch the Stone, and hide it in her school bag, which she was carrying after her, before running into the kitchen.
  52. Her unsuspecting family didn`t even consider her planned crimes, especially the one she just committed, as they watched Irina stuff her mouth with a delicious looking omelette. To them, this was just a regular day, like any other day.
  53. Evern though, in Irina`s mind, that wasn`t the case.
  54. Later, the two children of the Lup family went to school. There, like always, they were taught a variety of things. As Andrei was dutifully paying attention, Irina drifted off into her own thoughts, planning on ways to transfer the Stone to her tutor, and also on how she should sacrifice someone to Yveltal. This was quickly noticed by her teachers, resulting in quite a few hours of after class detention. But Irina simply did not care, ready to do them. After all, they could easily be used to her advantage, creating perfect times and environments for the insane girl to commit murder.
  55. Yet her naïve, younger brother cared. So, Andrei decided to spend said hours of detention together with his older sister, especially because he had some homework to do, and the Eevee always found himself able to focus more at schools, then at his very own home.
  56. All of these circumstances led to the two finding themselves in the same class, long after school had ended. Irina staring through the window on the eastern wall, planning her murders and escapes, as Andrei was simply just doing his homework. Normally, that would have also been what she`d be doing, on a normal day. Even the detention time wasn`t new to the often problematic Espeon, just not for periods as long as this one. But, the girl reminded herself, this was anything but a normal day.
  57. Overlooking them, there was some middle aged teacher. Irina barely paid any attention to any of her teachers, so, all that Pokémon was to her was a genderless Rattata. The Espeon didn`t even know their name. At one point, it decided to go to leave the classroom for a few moments, for whatever reason. Probably to take a leak, or meet up with one of the other teachers, leaving behind a pile of work at which they were working, while looking after the two siblings.
  58. ``The perfect occasion.`` Was all the Espeon could think. Most Pokémon would have started to breath heavily, at the thought of what she was about to do, if they were in her position. But not her, not as a heartless one. She simply remained calm, calculating each future move.
  59. ``Brother?`` Irina suddenly found herself calling to her little brother.
  60. ``Yes, sis?`` He simply responded to her call, with a question, while staring at her face, which was staring right back at him. After all, he could do so. Their desks were right next to each other.
  61. ``How often do you think about death?`` The Espeon asked, while sitting up from her desk, and starting to approach her little brother.
  62. ``Erm…Not too often. After all, I don`t have any reasons to wish for it, to either myself or anyone else, and nobody dear to me has ever died, throughout my whole life…`` The Eevee responded, with a concerned look. What was up with suddenly asking such a question? ``Why are you asking?``
  63. ``Because I do wish it to someone!`` Irina shrieked out, when she arrived in front of the little Eevee, while putting her front paws around his neck, constricting his breathing.
  64. ``I-Irina, why?!`` Was all Andrei could let out, between sudden gasps for air, while attempting to kick his older sister away, with a Double Kick. The move lands, but the Espeon doesn`t let go, not even wincing from the pain she felt. Only staring into the eyes of her younger brother, with a soulless grin.
  65. Even though his attack didn`t work as intended, the Eevee still struggled, launching whatever he could at the Espeon, that he once adored as his older sister. Double Kicks, Bites into her paws, and Swift stars, all perfectly landed on the body of the murderer in the making. But with the newfound powers of the now shining Stone of Violence, which activated the moment Irina decided to end the life of her very own brother, still sitting close to her body, in her bag, she endured all of the hits, only pressing harder, and harder, onto the neck of the poor, squirming boy, until…His legs stopped moving, alongside his chest. In just a few minutes, the Pokémon that should have become a hero was killed off, at the paws of his very own sister.
  66. Seeing his now dead body, with its limbs swinging under her grasp like those of one of her doll whenever she`d hold one mid-air, Irina let go of it. The body that once was her little brother fell on the floor, with a thud.
  67. The worst part? The murderer didn`t feel any form of regret as she stared down at his body, and not even while she smashed the glass of the windows that let sun light touch the Pokémon frequenting that classroom, through which she jumped, landing into the water surrounding the building. But this didn`t hinder Irina, who knew how to swim, thanks to her mother, a Vaporeon. So, the Espeon swam, until she reached the grey pavement surrounding the water surrounding the building from which she ran. Then, she ran, and ran, not being stopped by any of the Pokémon in the Square, because they simply didn`t know what she did, yet. To them, the Espeon was just some weirdo choosing an alternative way of leaving school, especially because they did not hear, nor spot, the window getting its glass shattered. Also, Irina didn`t give a damn about the poor books that were in her now wet bag. After all, why should she? This was her very last day of school.
  68. And by doing so, Irina quickly arrived in a familiar clearing, in the forest surrounding the market stalls. Her goal wasn`t to arrive here, but to run until she could contact her teacher. But, the Espeon landed in it either way, because it was in the way towards which she chose to run towards.
  69. There, Irina was met by no other than the Gardevoir herself, this time standing up. The woman probably teleported herself there, when she spotted Irina`s presence nearby it.
  70. ``I can read in your mind that you fulfilled your jobs. Well done, member of The Order, Irina.`` The strange Pokémon congratulated the murderer, while petting the Espeon. As she did so, the two teleported away, starting Irina`s future as a psychopath.
  71. Later that day, the Rattata returned to the classroom, and found the unmoving body of Andrei. With a blood curling scream, he attracted the attention of most of its colleagues, which then attracted the attention of the Guildmaster, and Andrei`s parents.
  72. As Maria couldn`t stop crying, a Kenza that just finished doing so started to investigate a bit. The disappearance of his Stone, connected with the fact that Irina was the only Pokémon seen in the presence of his son, and the smells that Mark managed to pick up, lead to them acknowledging who the murderer was, and also, who stole The Stone of Violence. Yet, the Leafeon had a single, at the time, unanswered question.
  73. Why?
  74. But in a few years, he would find the answer. And just like everyone else, Kenza hated it.
  75.
