  1. The story opens up with Sanjit wandering around the woods trying to find a nearby town, and stumbling onto a group of teenagers fighting off a Wrabbit. He watches this for a second before just getting annoyed at their sloppiness and killing it himself, but upon inspection doesn't find anything useful. Two of em fkn bail on sight of the big weird-armed dude who just slaughtered this monster, but one girl stays behind and p much begs him to wipe out the entire nest of these things bc they've been getting closer and closer to invading their town. Sanjit naturally has no interest in these shitters and is just like nah fam, and sets off in the direction the other losers ran cause they sure as hell weren't gonna run *away* from the town they live in. She follows him back, trying to get him to reconsider, since he's so strong and could just annihilate them, offers him money cause she's from a rich family, but Sanjit doesn't gaf and just gets a room at the inn after arriving.

  3. He stays in town for some amount of time looking for a next target, but one night the wrabbits break in and attack the town which I mean, sort of annoying but still not a threat. To him. The villagers manage to kinda fight some of em off, but they lose a few people until one of the wrabbits makes the mistake of fuckin with Sanjit's map of his next target location and he beats the shit out of it and sends the rest of em packing. One of the losers who bailed during the woods encounter runs up to Sanjit and begs him to go after the girl from before, she ran after the wrabbits cause apparently her mom got axed by em during the raid or something I dunno she's not a bright kid.

  5. Sanjit's got zero interest, he's like whatever she can take care of herself, but then the other guy's all NO YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND it's not just the little wrabbits, she went after the leader, a wred wrabbit. Now Sanjit's never even *heard* of a wred one before, but this dude is hyping it up, so his interest is piqued and he decides that, sure, why not, he'll go see what this is all about. He makes his way to the wrabbit nest and finds the girl, who's decidedly lost this fight. The wred wrabbit's done ripped her arm off and broken her legs, and it's not even injured. When the girl sees him, she asks him to at least avenge her and wipe these things out before fainting from blood loss. But, Sanjit's barely paying attention, instead fascinated by the bunny. He has a bit of a bout with it, letting it get a few hits in to test its capabilities. Eventually he's like yeah okay, it might worth harvesting, and finishes it off with a clean strike to the heart.

  7. When he looks the body over, he decides his current layout is better in the long run, but it'd sure suck to waste this thing... So he glances over at the bleeding-out girl, and decides, why not? If she's gonna die anyway, it can't hurt to try. He does some Chitin stitchery magic and grafts the wred wrabbit's arm on in place of the one it ripped off the girl, then swaps out the legs, too. After that, he just waits for her to wake up cause he wants to see if this shit actually worked. And it did! She wakes up, alive and well for all of around three seconds before freaking out about the whole arm and leg thing. Sanjit casually explains that it was this or die, so she may as well make the best of it and hop on back to town. Unfortunately, that's probably not an option; she doubts the townspeople will accept her now, especially with her actual family dead.

  9. She demands Sanjit take her with him, since he's the cause of all this - all he had to do was wipe these things out at the start, and none of this would've ever happened. Plus, he could have just let her die instead of turning her into a monster. Now normally Sanjit would refuse, because she's definitely only going to hold him back, but he also has a bit of a morbid curiosity in seeing how his little experiment here plays out, so he relents and agrees. Then he admits he barely has any idea where he's going next, since the wrabbits destroyed all his navigation equipment and all he really has left are basic supplies, so she'd better be prepared for a confusing-ass journey.
