  1. PHOSPHORUM (Ephemerality) - Sparks
  2. Every Promethean, on some level, feels the pulsing light of the divine fire in their hearts. It drives them on their pilgrimages, and when they fail, the pain can be unbearable. Some are lead down the path of revenge, taking out their anger on the world through Stannum. Some choose to look inside themselves. Others still choose to look at the moments, turning them from merely a source of pain into something from which they can learn. The Sparks seek out extremes, places and situations of great success and horrible loss. By learning the right moments to surrender control, and understanding that sometimes the ebb and flow of the world will leave them stranded, they can come to cope with the best and the worst.

  4. Phosphorus is a mineral that burns brightly, but only for a short time before it fizzles away into ashes. The tip of a match ignites with a bright flash, warming everything around it and spreading its light, but eventually the wood burns out, leaving a useless, charred stick.

  13. Celebrant - Though loss is a part of what the Sparks study, there is still that moment when the fire is lit, casting light wherever it goes. A Celebrant throws herself into everything with full force and enthusiam, pursuing the high while the moment's still hot. She'll start projects and abandon them just as quickly just for the joy of stumbling onto a new idea or breakthrough. She does her best to be the life of the party and cherishes the good times when they come, because it's only a matter of time before they burn out.

  15. Psychopomp - Though the vast majority of Prometheans confront death eventually, the Psychopomp makes a point to study it, the moment when the flame of life sputters and extinguishes. Many Promethean documents outlining the workings of the Underworld come from this Role, and they are drawn to scenes of death, such as hospices, funerals, and war memorials.

  17. Gambler- In order to truly understand ephemerality, a Promethean might choose to apply the concepts to himself, putting himself on the line and taking risks. A Spark following this role might be drawn to extreme sports or high-risk high-reward gaming, learning to bask in success and brush off failure to get back up and try again. They generally draw the line at actions that would bring consequences to their throngmates, however, and those that don't set those limits tend to find themselves abandoned and alone very quickly.

  20. Ava has been visiting casinos for weeks now, throwing whatever meager funds she has into the games. Sometimes she wins big, and the onlookers are shocked when she keeps hitting and eventually loses it all, a fortune going right back into the void. It's a regular exercise of how easily luck can come, and how quickly it can be lost.

  22. Raine makes their way from funeral to funeral, slipping into black clothing and passing themself off as some forgotten, distant relative. What is important to them isn't the deceased, but observing the ceremony and the wake. They listen to the grieving families and how they choose to remember their loved one, the celebrations of their lost lives or even the occasional relief that they are gone. Every time, they learn something from the lingering embers of the burned-out life.
