1. >You were wrong!
2. >Holy crap you were wrong!
3. >It's not even night and you are bored out of your mind.
4. >Looking outside for the fortieth time, you sigh as the sun begins to dip below the buildings.
5. >The moon begins raising above the buildings on the other side of town.
6. >Maybe it's time to take a look around town, the only time you looked around was when you went to meet with Princess Celestia about enrolling into school.
7. >While that was stressful, it was over quickly.
8. >Something about how she needed to attend to something
9. >The guards picked up for her, giving you directions to the school and where you will be staying...
10. >But that was then
11. >And this is now
12. >And now you are bored
13. >Looking outside, you grab your hoodie.
14. >You were surprised mom was able to recreate a hoodie with ease for you.
15. >Grabbing your keys, you walk out the door into the night air.
16. >Unsure of a direction to head in, you reach the street.
17. >Left is toward the school.
18. >Right is Twilight's parents place a bit down...
19. >But if you head left, the market can be reached quicker
20. >Deciding the market might be your best place for some sort of entertainment, you head toward the school.
21. >Reaching the next street you take a right turn.
22. >Many ponies just ignore your presence as if you were one of them...
23. >A freakishly tall pony that walked on two legs....
24.
25. >Strolling through the market place, several ponies tried to sell their goods to you.
26. >But none of it caught your attention.
27. >”Watch in awe as the great and powerful Trixie performs the most spectacular feats of magic ever witnessed by pony eyes!”
28. >Your attention has been caught.
29. >As you walk towards where you heard the sound, you turn a corner to find a small wagon with lights shooting out of it almost like fireworks.
30. >A small crowd of ponies have gathered around as this 'Trixie' begins putting on a show.
31. >You watch in awe in the back as lights fire off, items appear from thin air and she pretends to saw a pony in half.
32. >It was amazing watching this as she used real magic for almost everything, very little was meant to trick the eye.
33. >The way she kept referring to herself as 'great and powerful' got annoying but you looked past it and enjoyed the show she put on.
34. >After an hour of watching the magic show you decide to head back home.
35. >Not the most entertaining day but it was an okay end to it.
36. >Getting inside you crash quickly as your thoughts drift to home and how your griffon mother and father are doing.
37.
38. >Rising from your slumber, you let out a big yawn as you turn your gaze to the clock
39. >It's noon
40. “Holy shit... I wasn't even out that late...” you mutter to yourself
41. >Rubbing your eyes, you go through your morning routine.
42. >While eating your breakfast which consists of buttered toast, you drift your eyes towards the magic book you checked out from the library.
43. >You never really got a chance to check out the library, you arrived during closing and quickly pulled something out.
44. >Thankfully they didn't make a fuss about it.
45. >Rather nice people these.... ponies.
46. >Maybe it's time to have a better look at that library.
47. >Liking your plan, you quickly head out into the sunny day.
48. >Is it ever cloudy or rainy here?
49. >Pushing thoughts aside, you head into the library.
50. >Greeting the librarian who is filing books away, you get directions toward the magic isle again.
51. >Up the stairs and to the left!
52. >Climbing the stairs, you take in the libraries design.
53. >Big glass windows to provide light and a view over a giant field.
54. >Bookshelves that go up to the ceiling.
55. >Wasting no time in finding books, you quickly become overwhelmed.
56. “So many books... on magic,” you comment quietly
57. >You waste no time picking books off the shelves.
58.
59. >The big magic book of magic.
60. >M-A-G-I-C Spells magic.
61. >My special unicorn magic.
62. >Magic, the other mystical force.
63. >Starswirl the Bearded's Big Tome of Pleasuring Mares With Magic
64. “Wait...”
65. >Taking a look at the last one you shake your head putting it back.
66. >Grabbing your small pile of books, you head to a nearby table and get comfortable
67. >Deciding to start with 'The Big Magic Book of Magic,” you flip it open
68. >You find the pages to be like the cardboard in those childrens books when you were little.
69. >”Friendship is magic,” are the first words you read.
70. >Closing the book you set it aside in its own little pile titled “Not today”
71. >Next book.
72. >'M-A-G-I-C Spells Magic'
73. >You have a feeling you should set it aside, but you give it the benefit of the doubt... and set it back in the pile to check later.
74. >'My Special Unicorn Magic' is the next book.
75. >Examining it before you open it, you check everything.
76. >It seems to be a fairly large book, real pages.... maybe a winner?
77. >Opening it, you read a few words to find it's a real book... but not the type of book you are looking for...
78. >Sighing, you set it to the side, something to read for entertainment might be nice.
79. >'Magic, The Other Mystical Force'
80. >Doing a quick skim, you find it's a lot like the book you checked out earlier.
81. >You're not sure on the date, but it seems to be in good condition, worth giving it a shot.
82. >Picking up 'M-A-G-I-C Spells Magic' you flip it open.
83. >Spells after spells are printed onto the pages.
84. >You're amazed at just how many there are as you begin reading.
85. >Soon you have the book laid down on the table with you hunched over it like it's your child.
86. >A strange child with no soul, but it's filled with a wealth’s of information regarding something you are interested in.
87.
88. >The only time you lift your head is when a white pony steps into the sunlight, causing her to glow brightly catching your attention.
89. >Rubbing your eyes you try to see who it is.
90. >”Now where is she?” a soft motherly voice which you recognize instantly.
91. “Princess Celestia?”
92. >Rubbing your eyes, they adjust to the light shining off of the Princess.
93. >”Oh Anonymous, I was just looking for my student, Twilight Sparkle.”
94. “She left yesterday to spend the weekend in Ponyville.”
95. >The Princess lets out a small sigh, but holds her smile.
96. >”I was sure she should have been here, but I suppose I should have asked her brother, Shining Armor, first.”
97. >She gazes over you and the books on the tables.
98. >”We never really got a chance to talk, did we Anonymous?”
99. >Panic starts going through your head.
100. >'Oh god... what am I wearing?'
101. >'I smell nice right?'
102. >'Please don't eat me!'
103. >'Wait....student? Twilight?'
104. >She smiles as you begin putting the books in neat piles.
105. “Uh no, we didn't, but that’s alright. I understand your position of power.”
106. >She gives you a funny look as she sits down.
107. >”So you understand politics?” She asks with a smile
108. >'Oh fuck Anonymous BAIL.' you mind trying to cause more panic
109. “I, uh- well not entirely, I just meant you being a Princess and all-” Princess Celestia interrupts you
110. >”Anonymous, relax.” she says in a calming voice.
111. >”I hope the accommodations provided to you have been satisfying.”
112. “They are great, thank you. I also want to thank you for giving me a chance to enroll in your school.”
113. >”It is my pleasure Anonymous.”
114. >You find yourself somewhat stunned by those words but do a very good job at keeping your reaction contained.
115.
116.
117. >”Just because the school is for gifted unicorns, that does not mean other magic users cannot enroll. I hope you don't mind, but I requested a copy of all of your grades and reports. After all, you are the first non-unicorn to enroll in my school. It should prove to be quite the learning experience for us both.”
118. “I, uh- no, that’s fine.”
119. >You find the air oddly calming around the Princess as she launches another question.
120. >”Have you and my student been getting along?”
121. “Twilight? As in the purple unicorn that’s in my class?”
122. >She just nods her head.
123. “Uh, yeah, guess we get along fine, she's taught me more about magic than I've learned since even finding out I could do magic.”
124. >”I see. So would the two of you consider yourselves friends then?”
125.
126. >Confused, you nod your head, which only causes Celestia to smile back.
127. >”Since I'm here, why don't you tell me about yourself Anonymous? If you don't mind, of course.”
128. >Her smile holds as you begin recalling various bits of information about yourself.
129. “Well, I'm a bit of a merchant and hunter back home, I help my mom and sister buy and sell various things. If father is sick, I grab my crossbow and a few traps before leaving into the forest. I'm
130.
Insert age here
years old, I guess my most recent interest is magic now, seeing as to how it's all I really want to learn about.”
131. >”And what would you like to learn about magic?”
132. “I guess everything, I want to learn how to hurl fireballs, bring lightning down from the sky and such. I watched Twilight teleport, I want to learn how to do that too. I skimmed over magic runes, I want to enchant my own item just because I can... I guess I want to learn everything I can, until I hit a wall.”
133. >Celestia's expression changed when you mentioned fireballs and lightning but returned to normal as you finished.
134. >Princess Celestia titters a bit
135. >”You remind me of Twilight when I took her in as my student.”
136. >She looks out the window as if she's watching an old memory play in her head.
137. >”Don't give up Anonymous. I'm sorry to cut this short once again, but it seems something has come up.” Princess Celestia turns to the entrance of the library where 4 guards have entered the building.
138. >Standing up, you hear a small sigh as they start to walk up.
139. >”Princess,” The first guard does a small bow before looking back up, “A small shipment of dragon eggs have arrived.”
140. >Celestia's ears perk up as she looks back at you.
141.
142.
143. >”Anonymous, have you taken the entry exam?”
144. “No I haven't, I only just heard about it yesterday.”
145. >”Would you mind taking it? I'm curious at how it would react to someone that’s not a unicorn.”
146. “I have no problem with that, I'm free right now.”
147. >The guard ponies just look between you and Celestia, confused.
148. >”No, that is quite alright, please enjoy your weekend, I will send word when we are ready. Hopefully we will have another chance to talk some more soon. Goodbye Anonymous.”
149. “Goodbye Princess Celestia.”
150. >Before she begins walking out, she turns back to you
151. >”No need for formalities Anonymous, just Celestia is fine.” she says with a light chuckle
152. “Right, Goodbye Celestia.”
153. >She smiles again as the guard form around her, walking with her out the door.
154.
155. >You're left in kind of an odd spot, you always heard tales of how royalty acts, especially the griffon king.
156. >The one time you met him, it sent shivers down your spine; his gravely voice, how he barked at others for no reason.
157. >But Celestia just sat down and wanted to learn more about you...
158. >The griffon king just wanted to know if you can work...
159. >Bah, he's just a king who keeps trying to pick fights with the minotaurs.
160. >No backbone, just uses his position to intimidate people.
161. >Agreeing your 'king' is shit, you move on and begin reading the spells book again.
162. >You're amazed at just the amount of effort they put into explaining each spell.
163. >They even went as far as to explain how powerful magic was itself.
164. >Reading the light spell, you notice you were doing it wrong.
165. >You were focusing magic in a small ball which caused it to react in a small light.
166. >But to effectively cast light, you need to use the elements themselves, rolling them around together. In doing so, you can create a light source with little effort that will last thirty minutes without any magical input.
167. >This book is a must-have.
168. >Grabbing it and the other two books you go check them out before returning home.
169. >The rest of your weekend is spent reading and practicing magic.
