  1. The teenager made his way up across the mountain - you could tell he made his way across while jogging; he could barely catch his breath, which didn't really seem to deter him from what he's about to do.
  2.
  3. Proceeding to take off his shirt, jacket and set his arms away - the Oscuri needed nothing but absolute will power to pull this through. The temperature atop of the rough, freezing snow mountains should be enough incentive to get the job done.
  4.
  5. Fired up, he was - the chains he held on him came out, wrapping around the tree bulk - tying it down before wrapping both of his arms in said chains, facing the opposite direction of the tree. He needed to test himself and how far he'd come. His back to the tree, both of his arms open wide, he took a step forward.
  6.
  7. Of course, the tree did not budge. It was old, very much so - it dug deep into the ground below.
  8. (Eerikki Syvervald)
  9.
  10. Marching forth, the Oscuri's feet dug deeper into the soft snow below. He's gotten a good distance from the tree, right before the chains were tightened up - the challenge beginning. His arms already feeling the weight below and the strength from the tree, still hanging onto it's life. It was much easier to chop it, pick it up and move around with it - but what challenge was that?
  11.
  12. Forward - there was no stopping him now, that he's set his mind to it. Sir Artaghh and Vedran, they both saw something in him - disappointment is the furthest thing he wanted them both to feel right now, but reality hit him head on - that even if he aspired to to make them proud, that simply was not enough.
  13.
  14. Another push, his feet were senseless now - a couple of minutes in the freezing snow simply numbed them, he couldn't feel anything except a painful, sharp sensation where the terrain should be. The chains around his arms had only gotten colder - the Iron, digging into his skin as such, ever so slightly biting through his skin.
  15.
  16. Whenever he pushed, the chains would yank him back - nature itself did not wish to go down without a fight -without a challenge- and that, itself, made the attempt worth while.
  17. (Eerikki Syvervald)
  18.
  19. Enjoying the exercise, the Oscuri did not even notice the time passing. His skin already turning a shade of blue due to the cold finally kicking in - he couldn't tell, but his body was shaking; shivering due to how intense the weather had gotten in such a short period. It wasn't a stormy night out - the mere height of the mountain kept the snow together.
  20.
  21. It wasn't until later, the unpredictable weather changed the winds began to howl and at that moment on, the Oscuri knew he was in trouble. Even a Magi couldn't survive in such states, especially if they weren't skilled with fire magick to begin with. Due to the state of his body, the only thing that would make sense for him right now was to use the tree for shelter and fire..
  22.
  23. But, his hands wouldn't open up the simple fact that the cold had affected him so much so that his muscles were locked up in place, and the strain put on them from constant pulling, yeah, he was out of options. The only thing that came to mind was to push and push harder. "At this point I won't even make it to the next briefing.." He muttered to himself. "I can't let that happen - too soon.."
  24.
  25. Death was not stopping him - he needed to survive, no matter what - his goals depended on it, the things he IS going to do depended on it as well. As though, he took yet another step..
  26.
  27. Crack.
  28. (Eerikki Syvervald)
  29.
  30. The most intense pain shot straight through his arms - there was nothing he could do about it, but suck it up. He could feel his muscles tear up from the intense pressure placed on them, by the gesture to yank himself out of the snow, with the tree hanging off of both his arms. The pain was still there - connection with his arms was gone. They were dense, heavy, unable to cooperate with him, putting him in quite the predicament. However...
  31.
  32. One thought went through the Oscuri's head; incentive, if he didn't act quickly he could very well die here and nobody would pat an eye, or even bother look for him. Not that he'd blame them anyway, failing such a simple task should not be condoned, not for someone created for the sole purpose of leading.
  33.
  34. There had to something else going on with him, because if it was just about any other being he wouldn't be able to get himself up and move again. He pushed against the tree - his arms still gripping the chains, even now he wouldn't let go. Everything went blank for a moment, from his perspective - the pain shot up so much so that he couldn't even keep up with it mentally.
  35.
  36. His back began to give in as well, the strain put on it from dragging the tree and himself within the snow was great - the need for survival, the instinct itself, took over for the child. The best next thing is getting over these snowy mountains and lighting a fire. He pulled once more, and more - his feet now bleeding from how soft his skin had gotten due to the cold and the pebbles on the ground below kept knitting it.
  37.
  38. "... There's nothing more I can do. The tree - it won't move and my arms.. All I could do is drag them as dead weight.. Is this the end, All-Father? Is that why you choose me?"
  39.
  40. (Eerikki Syvervald)
  41.
  42. His Rieka began to faintly throb in response.
  43.
  44. "To die before I am meant to be?"
  45.
  46. A jolt of energy from his very midst, Eerikki was letting loose of his bottled up emotions in the form of Rieka and it simply took over from there. His body began to move again, each step he took dug into the earth, so much so that he retained feeling into his legs again. He was warming up, on his own - full of adrenaline. The pain in his entire body proceeded to ensue, every muscle ached from this session.
  47.
  48. Snap.
  49.
  50. The tree began to budge, move in it's place - the snowy dirt from each side shaken loose.. It was eventually responding to his attempt. A scream escaped the teenager's lips, a full uproar left his lips, dragging the chains behind him more and more. His feet digging deeper with each step he took forward as if the earth itself made room for him to step, to gain friction.
  51.
  52. Snow around the tree began to fade away and the roots became visible. Even as though his attempts were brutal, it seemed as if nature wasn't keen on giving up just yet. The tree only grew heavier with each thrust, as if it was not ready to die yet. The more this went on, the more the Oscuri understood - nothing wanted to die, he was feeling exactly the same. Everything needed to survive, and for him to do so, was to get this tree off and at least up that mountain, the small cave could be great for shelter.
  53.
  54. "THE WILL OF AZRAEL COMPELS YOU!" He screamed at the top of his lungs, with one last charge forth the Oscuri managed to get himself out of the shackles he placed himself in, dragging the tree behind him. Each muscle in his body seemed to give up as soon as the weight was off, but he was not giving up just yet.
  55.
  56. (Eerikki Syvervald)
  57.
  58. Barely able to stand, he scaled the cliff before him, arms hanging loose - attached to the large bunk of tree behind him, dragging it behind his person - eyes staring on the cave entrance. "I need to get there, I need to get there, I need to get there-.." He kept repeating his words, to convince himself.
  59.
  60. With each step he lost a sensation in one of his limbs, to the point where he couldn't even feel any of his fingers, or toes, or anything. Even his own face felt numb, and his tongue felt too heavy and dry to even move. While it felt like the longest walk he'd ever taken, the Oscuri found himself staring at the entrance of the cavern.
  61.
  62. To be fair, he'd forgotten if he had been dragging an actual tree behind him, the chains dragged across the floor, before being pulled again from the weight of the tree. Eerikki looked behind him, making sure that the tree made it's way in with him.
  63.
  64. "... Azrael be praised... I barely made it..Eheheh..." He laughed, nervously.
  65. (Eerikki Syvervald)
  66.
  67. Apparently, he was not alone in the cavern. Something answered when he laughed, and to make the matters worse - it was a roar. What den did he enter this time? He frantically rubbed against the cavern's wall, attempting to get his unlit torch out of his pocket. It was smart to at least grab an enchanted one, as soon as the torch fell out of his pockets, it ignited in fire - illuminating a very large and oversized black bear, that was not too happy about having it's nap ruined.
  68.
  69. It lunged forth on Eerikki, who simply stood there. There was no more fighting left in him, he was still cold - his energy met it's end and his body was in absolute tatters. "Not again..." He muttered, while he accepted his fate - his body still tried to move, and his eyes blared up in green. He was not dying today - not if he could help it. Azrael himself blessed him with his power, to use it - to spread Glory in his name.
  70.
  71. The Falcon's body emitted a burning green color, his hues illuminating the entire cavern for the moment, he found himself leaping right above the bear, as it's gotten too close, his arms finally decided to move, but he could tell one of them broke from how quickly he'd move it, his left knee burning in agonizing pain as he wrapped the chains together, tying them right across the bear's neck. He fell, dug his feet into the ground again - breaking two of his toes in the process, squeezing as hard as he could.
  72. (Eerikki Syvervald)
  73.
  74. The animal roared - it was not going down that easy. It struggled against the chains, even putting it's weight down on it. Little did the bear know, the Oscuri had been playing this game for at least half a day. He was not budging. The roars eventually died down, and the bear fell quiet, really quiet. The surge of adrenaline left, and the Oscuri himself collapsed.
  75.
  76. He dragged himself across the cold, dirt floor of the cavern, moving only by sheer will - his body has long given up. He was panting the entire time, he made his way to his torch, who still illuminated the area. He bit down on the wooden part, dragging himself even more to the tree, he'd place the torch next to it's leaf.
  77.
  78. It was time to sleep. He couldn't even keep his eyes open enough to check if the fire started. His body gave up and so did his mind.
  79. (Eerikki Syvervald)
