A government agent trains Cody Banks in the ways of covert operations that require younger participants.
To his family and friends, Cody Banks is a typical teen--he loves to skateboard, hates math, and feels like a complete idiot around girls. But Cody's got a secret--he's actually part of a secret teen CIA program. Cody's living every boy's dream life--he can drive like a stuntman, has an incredible arsenal of cool gadgets, and his agency mentor, Ronica Miles, is totally hot. But Cody's training is put to the test when he's sent to pose as a prep school student and befriend fellow teen Natalie Connors in order to gain access to her father--a scientist unknowingly developing a fleet of deadly nanobots for the evil organization ERIS. From runaway cars and high-speed snowboard chases to a spectacular final mountaintop showdown, Cody has to use everything he's learned to prove himself as an agent and stop ERIS from completing their mission--and, maybe, even get the girl.
This was a cute movie that is entertaining for kids (over 6, possibly 7...there is one scene where a guy melts from the inside out similar to the guys melting in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" so if your child is squeamish or prone to nightmares, beware.  If you know it's coming, have your child close his/her eyes) and teens.  We took our 3 girls and met two of my 15 year old's friends there.  We are all fans of Frankie Muniz, who is a fine actor and a a darn cute kid...hope he doesn't ruin his life like a lot of child stars do.  He plays a likeable teen CIA agent who is uncomfortable around girls (to say the least) yet his first job as an agent is to get close to a lovely teenage girl (Hillary Duff).  The one thing I didn't appreciate was the overly sexily dressed Angie Harmon...was it truly necessary for her to have every top unzipped to 3 inches below her bustline?  It was particularly silly to see her dressed thus in the snow.  I realize this was a parody of sorts, but it's aimed at kids...it would be possibly to portray a sexy woman without her top zipped down to her navel.  Other than that, this was a cute movie...pretty good entertainment for the family.  It was pure fantasy, and I think kids can recognize it as such.
This film was very entertaining. It starred Frankie Muniz and Hilary Duff. The film included lots of action (with great effects, may I add), romance and comedy. What more could you ask from a film? The movie is defanatly for 13-18 year olds. Some parts could be a bit violent for children and the movie does include some profanity and rude language.I recommend this film to people who like spy-movies, are into lots of action filled movies and of course if you are a fan of the amazing Hilary Duff. Hilary wasn't in the movie as much as fans would have liked her to be, but when she was in a scene she stole the movie! GREAT acting and a good movie. Overall... 8/10
Unfortunately, two separate screenwriting teams...send Cody away from kid-resonant environs and off to exotic locales, culminating in an overproduced mountain-lair finale.
