  1. The issue with the anti-science narrative is its construction
  2.
  3. 1. it focuses on issues like global warming and evolution which Republicans will doubt more
  4.
  5. 2. It almost never ever talks about heritability. Which republicans seem to accept (as their publications talk about it whereas more left leaning ones worry about its potential bigotry). Haidt talks about this.
  6.
  7. 3. Heritability matters because I would argue denying evolution but accepting its consequences is better than believing evolution but denying its consequences. Political ideologies should be first and foremost concerned with crafting policy to deal with human concerns, heritability fits that criteria more than an abstract debate about creationism to be quite honest.
  8.
  9. 4. Lastly, conservatives are more free market. This matters because all the questions beyond the stem cell debate (which is governed by attitudes on abortion to be clear, a moralistic concern) it is never asked if study should be blocked. It's always about personal belief or choice. One would expect the free marketeers to permit study of things like GMOs. And with GMOs we see objections to their study is a leftward phenomena.
