  1. It's set in Springwood by the lake near the Ice Kingdom and the Kingdom of Sand. It's in an unknown part of Pyrrhia. It caters to dragons of any kind and tribe, free of prejudice. And it's a nice respite from the turmoils of the kingdom.
  2. And Verbena works there as a waitstaff.
  3. I'd keep it a low-key trading town whose freshwater source was discovered into larger consciousness via a map-maker only recently (10-20 years ago).
  4. But I can definitely see Springwood outgrowing into a trading city after more dragons discover Springwood as a developing town that's ready to be more with more workers and townsdragons.
  5. It's a niche market, the Scorpion's Den will probably be the greater market that most dragons and merchants head towards.
  6. But for the residents and the travelers, Springwood remains that comfortable little spot on the map that's good for rest and some exotic, niche materials.
  7. The first time the precursor to the Winter Oasis was recorded was 300 years, it was a wooden shelter, shoddily constructed by unprofessional claws meant to keep rain off the heads of wayward travelers. The first scroll-making traveler to record it said he saw a white dragon with a sandy mate be the first occupants in it.
  8. Back then, the lake beside the shoddy shelter was unnamed, and so was the building itself.
  9. It was just called the Lakesden by most travelers.
  10. The next major development of it was 200 years ago. When that wooden sheltered was expanded into a cabin with two straw mats inside it. It was during a time when IceWing and SandWing animosity was at an all-time high. The owner was a white-ish looking dragon that looked like her scales were sanded out and dirtied intentionally. But her cabin always had a warm fire and a steady sample of serrated-scratched logs for feeding the fire. So travelers had an implicit silent agreement... or so it was recorded.
  11. It was then named the Poolside after a certain IceWing story about pools in the frosty North that had unlimited fish.
  12. The next development was 140 years, when a certain SandWing came across the cabin and found the dragon and didn't take kindly to her appearance. That SandWing had lost his family to IceWings years ago when bad blood rung between tribes. Soon after, the cabin was led bare. There was no welcoming fire awaiting any traveler and it was cold and lonely in a way it wasn't with the white-ish dragon living there.
  13. It was then named the Springside, to rid it of the IceWing associations.
  14. The next development was 70-80 years, when a descendant of that SandWing came across the rotting ruins of what the cabin was. No one was there to tend to it except for the travelers that came once a winding twilight to rest their weary bones from the cold and rain. Ashamed of their ancestor's actions, they took it upon themselves to fix up the cabin, sprucing it up and opening it as a shelter full-time for the next traveler to come along. Partaking in freshwater and tending to the place to atone for the ancestor's sins of intolerance.
  15. The next development was 45-55 years ago, when an IceWing came across the cabin, looking for a place to rest after they ran away from their Kingdom and needed a place of solace and comfort. They met the SandWing accommodating the cabin and tending to it and they had fallen in love after a spell of a time. They realized, by taking care of certain functions, they could maintain the cabin far more than the older SandWing could by themselves. They had decided to expand the cabin size a bit to accommodate more than one straw mat. They decided to serve more food and comforts through their different gifts of fire and ice.
  16. It was then named Springwood after the season they met and the woods they met in and fostered their hearts.
  17. The next development was around 15 years ago. The years were getting onto the two dragons who owned Springwood. Age and demand of the travelers had caused them to need some help around the restaurant/inn. Fortunately, there was a flow of new dragons that were sick of the war, some of whom of Burn and Blaze's forces, who were ready to be hired and forge what was the first makings of Springwood the town. The place was expanded further and the couple decided to give the place a new name, giving Springwood to the patch of land rather than the establishment itself.
  18. They named it the Winter Oasis for being a place of peace for Ice and SandWings during the war.
