- Ah. Let's revisit Sentinel this time. After all, someone needs to work the day shift.

- Hey, one of the heroes ought to be going this route, heaven knows there's enough weirdness to justify it.
- >Source: Innate (1200)
- Well... it's not something that can be replicated, anyway. I'll explain here in a bit.
- >Adaptability (600)
- That which doesn't kill me makes me stronger. Apparently.
- >Guide to Super Tech Theory (0)
- Well, I already kind of can duplicate any powers or magic with technology, but frankly... studying this will help me cover my bases better. Not to mention I am fully intending to use this for practical purposes.
- The opening of the episode is fairly typical. You've got a view of a mountain range somewhere in the desert, and then you cut to the interior of the cave, where it's set up. A base that belongs to the League of Shadows, with a skeleton crew around, a Lazarus Pit in the middle of it. The first sign that something's wrong is an earthquake, and the pit starts bubbling. The second sign is the sound of cracking, the catwalks and lights over the pit giving way, and a live electrical line falling onto the pit. Everyone scrambles to escape as the pit catches fire, and an explosion blows the cave out a matter of minutes later.
- Hours later, Batman has come to investigate. And finds himself surprised to find someone who had gone missing months earlier, looking dazed and lost in the rubble.
- >"Sentinel?"
- "I... who... ah. Good to see you, Batman."
- >"What happened here? You've been missing for months."
- "Ra's al Ghul. He got the upper hand... and I took a fall in."
- >"Fell in..?"
- "Into the lazarus pit."
- >"That should have killed you. How did you survive?"
- "I... don't know. I know I fell in. I think I got better. But I have a remarkable headache..."
- >"Sentinel--!"
- The rest of that week was much of what you'd expect for an auxiliary League member - taken to the Watchtower for a medical check, which is fine aside from the part where my unconscious self has to be teleported up there. Except when they try to draw my blood a second time, they have trouble with the needle and have to use a different one that they usually use on people who are more durable. I go down and spar with Batman, and while I start off sluggish, I get back into form... then as it goes, find that his hits are gradually hurting less. And where he hit me, I should have been bruised, but instead seemed to be more durable.
- Eventually I got called out to help the League, and took an injury that should have killed me. Instead, while I was wounded, it wasn't actually that bad, but when treated it seemed I was growing more durable. More resistant to what hurt me. Further testing basically just confirmed that to be the case, though they couldn't quite figure out why. I vetoed the Flash's offer to rename me to Lazarus, however, and after that point everything went back to normal. Or, well, mostly normal.
- Things after that fell back into the usual routine. Sure, dealing with the various unsavory characters who wanted to kill me wasn't fun. Definitely not a fan of that, and they kept me quite busy. Even more so when a clone of myself got together with them and hatched a couple of plans to do me in, on the assumption that he was the real me and I was some kind of freak created to usurp his place. While it was daunting, it wasn't the sort of thing I had to worry about killing me off entirely.
- While a lot of my downtime was reliably replicating the Kryptonian and Martian powers technologically, and making a knock-off Green Lantern ring (and boy do they have horrendous power requirements if you build them to spec), honestly it was a pretty good stay. Nothing too harrowing aside from Darkseid playing games, and I wasn't even center stage for that, so. I did get the chance to steal Brainiac's parts from Luthor, though, and tore through that. After all, I've already done that once before, I learned a great deal about sanitizing my data from it.
