  1. 18:26] The Lorekeeper stood in front of the assembled knowledge seekers. He knew each one had braved the lines and had shown they were willing to fight through a war to get to the knowledge he offered. So he wouldn't disappoint them the ones who'd arrived had come for his lecture on the spirit world but surely some had other questions for him. No matter he'd make time for them after the event was complete. It wasn't as if he'd a war to fight at the moment.
  2.
  3. First an introduction, "Welcome to my lecture upon Ryujin's Domains. We will be going over the varying realms of the spirit world. Questions are encouraged as they will aid in your comprehension of what is said. For those who don't know me I am Gajin. I gained my credentials after a blessing from Garljing's awoke within me a keen desire to expand my own knowledge." He brought a hand to tap the crown of his head. "Knowledge, that is a trove of treasures none can take fromyou." The Drakan then crossed his arms over his chest.
  4.
  5. "This isn't comprehensive but an overview. So, let's begin. We'll start with the great tree Yggdrasil. It is the convergence point for all mana within the world. The life-stream, that is all natural mana found within eternia, flows through it and from it. The tree serves as the center-point for the spirit realm connecting all the realms within. Yet, they are also separate in their own ways." Luckily for him Yggdrasil was easily understood. After-all everyone understood what a tree was.
  6.
  7. "Vanaheim, the personal realm of Ryujin, he whose first breath brought life into the material world and whose last brought unlife into the immaterial world. Known also as the realm of the Exalted for it houses the greatest magi who've ever walked the face of Esshar. Those who's names echo down the ages as mighty warriors, scholars, and statesmen. However, do not think this means they were good or evil people. Such concepts are twisted within the realm of the dead. This realm are were the Wardens of the realm beyond come from and is ruled by the Overseer, an enigmatic primordial who runs the realm at Ryujin's behest. Its also the only realm which wraps itself around the Yggdrasils trunk. Protecting the tree with walls of silver and the souls of the mighty."
  8.
  9. There was a soft pause but it lasted only long enough for him to take a breath. Then he'd roll on forwards. "Joruheim is the realm of the Brave, this realm circles outwards beyond the great silver walls of Vaneheim and is the realm of warriors and soldiers. Those who've lived and died by the oaths they made in life. If you live by the blade or the wand honorable you will most likely find yourself within this realm upon your death. It is governed by great spirits who've risen as princes within the realm itself. Separating the souls into various concentrated city-states. In truth these mighty city-states are the realm of Joruheim proper and the rolling pastures beyond their walls are the realm of Alfheim." His gaze would trail across those present and then his jagged teeth were flashed in a mighty grin.
  10.
  11. "A realm none of you are destined for. Alfheim, the realm of the meek. Its endless townships, villages, and hamlets spread in a near endless expanse out from the walls of Vaneheim and Joruheim. Interwoven and yet separate in their own ways. These realms are often harassed by those those denizens of Helheim, Uraheim, Ifraheim, and Terraheim. If you live a the simple life of a commoner you will often find yourself here. Most of the non-magi find themselves within this realm." Pausing he'd look around the room. "Now, a quick pause for questions or comments. You've the floor knowledge-questers."
  12. (Gajin)
  13. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14.
  15. [18:32] Jarus eyes his pendant on his chest and then turns his gaze towards Gajin with a inquisitive look.
  16.
  17. "So, if we are all connected through the Yggdrasil, then how do the realms become separate and staggered as they are? And furthermore, how are people able to get dominion over the, if I recall their name properly, Primordials?"
  18. (Jarus Koilante)
  19. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  20.
  21. [18:32] Jarus Koilante asks, "Where does Gajin and Ryujin fall in to these?"
  22. [18:33] Vesper says, "Gajin, the son. Ryujin, the father."
  23. [18:33] Leaning back in his chair, the Drakanite listened attentively-- nodding to seemingly no one in particular. It was certainly a lot to take in, but knowledge was power after all! And power wasn't really easily obtained for the most part.
  24.
  25. Most of the stuff Gajin spoke about were things that the teenager never heard of, but. . that was the entire point of the lesson.
  26.
  27. For now, the youngster would op to remain silent as he hadn't formulated any questions yet.
  28. (Ren Sindri)
  29. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  30.
  31. [18:33] Gajin says, "My names Gajin.... You both mean GARLJING. I am honored in his name not the other way round."
  32. [18:33] Vesper says, "Close enough. Garljing."
  33. [18:34] A lecture.
  34.
  35. Varceal had told Azir and his brother Sej'rin that there would be lectures years ago, and this was the first one he'd ever heard of or attended. It was a bit disappointing that he had to wait until adulthood, but it was fine. Besides, he was in a better state of mind now and could probably process the information better.
  36.
  37. So the first thing was an overview...
  38.
  39. He spoke of the great tree Yggdrasil, and the lifestream. The kitsune was absorbing all of the information, from Vanaheim, to Joruheim, and the rest. Most of the non-magi found themselves in those realms?
  40.
  41. He pursed his lips.
  42.
  43. "What about magi who waste their talents and don't do anything but sit around like commoners? They gonna find themselves in Alfheim too?" Part of him was tempted to say he knew of people like that, but that wouldn't be appropriate considering that this was a learning experience.
  44. (Azir Toryia)
  45. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  46.
  47. [18:39] Roland continued to sit in his seat, rather inventively. The things Gajin spoke of were above his own understanding of the world, as he lived a rather simple life.
  48.
  49. The boy would wait until further into the lecture, or perhaps the end to voice his questions. More time to ponder the subjects at hand would allow him to properly digest it all.
  50.
  51. Untwining his hands, he rested his chin on a raised hand, as he continued to listen to the lecture.
  52. (Roland Rivers)
  53. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  54.
  55. [18:39] Marga actually was taking notes on the lecture, complete with a rough sketch and labeled worlds. Apparently she was taking this very seriously. She thought for a moment, then spoke up, "What about children who hadn't had the chance to prove where they go?"
  56.
  57. She tapped her graphite stick against her paper, "Do they go to Alfheim? Though I've head they go straight to Yggdrasil itself..." She suddenly realized that she was making a mess, tried to wipe away the stray dots, but only managed to make her hand all grey.
  58. (Marga)
  59. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  60.
  61. [18:45] Gajin's gaze shifted towards Jarus first, his hand coming up with index finger raise to the sky. "First, you must understand the concept of space. Space exists in all planes. Including the immaterial, that is how the worlds are separated into staggered segments. They must not take up the same space. That staggering is were the different between the material and immaterial comes in. The space between is simply to great of a divide for use to easily cross into the next realm. It was all designed as such by Kraus in his wisdom."
  62.
  63. He then thought about the question of gaining dominion over a primordial and offered a level shrug. "I am unaware of ways they could do such. However, with enough magi and enough effort anything is within the our grasp. Though to do such is poorly advised as you risk the wrath of greater deities."
  64.
  65. His gaze then trailed towards Azir and his question. They received a wolfish grin before the Drakanite spoke. "All of the meek find themselves within the realm of Alfheim. If they are lucky they will spend their after-life within the realm before rebirthing to find greater glory." He then brought a hand to his chin and shimmered down a bit. "Not to say there is no honor in the realm of Alfheim. Many great artisans reside within that realm. There simply is no glory."
  66.
  67. His gaze trailed towards Marga at that point dull sienna hues settling upon them. "Children? Well if they've a strong enough will they will go unto Alfheim. If their wills are weak than they will be reborn into the world. Hopefully with a life that will allow them a chance at glory." His head bobbed, hands coming to clasp behind his back. "Yggdrasil is were all souls go to be reborn. Though as they walk through the vaunted streets of Vanaheim their souls remember the glorious and rekindle the flames of life within their spirits. So they may reach greater heights in their next life."
  68.
  69. "Are these answers enlightening for each of you in turn?"
  70. (Gajin)
  71. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  72.
  73. [18:46] Marga says, "I think so..."
  74. [18:51] Marga scribbled a few more notes, and drew in a few more things on her growing tree sketch.
  75. (Marga)
  76. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  77.
  78. [18:54] Gah! Damnit! I'm LATE!
  79.
  80. Mort had finally arrived to the lecture, sneaking in, hoping to make no sound whatsoever. He caught the tail end of the lecture from outside as he came in. Take a seat in-between Marga and Azir. He acts natural as if he was there the entire time. His focus on Gajin as he hopes to catch up with the answers to these questions.
  81.
  82. Realms were mentioned.
  83.
  84. Deities like Kraus. There was a lot to go over. Knowledge seemed to be limitless. Mort was disappointed to not fully be apart of the lecture. But he does what he can to make sure that he can at least leave this room with some sort of enlightenment.
  85.
  86. "My deepest apologies for my absence. What of the people who can't easily be defined. Men who have done great things, but have also done things that can be seen as irredeemable? I couldn't imagine that all things are forgiven since Hel exists."
  87. (Mort Graves)
  88. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  89.
  90. [19:04] Good they seemed to be understand all he said without much confusion. His attention settled upon Mort, "Thank you for joining us Morty and worry not I will be writing a book upon what I go over today with Vesper. I will make sure you get a chance to read over it. Now to answer your question the conecept of what is irredeemable shifts between cultures and I know not what exact standard Ryujin or more accurately the Overseer keeps. I would assume if you are irredeemable in its eyes you will be cast into Helheim or simply forced to be reborn without an after-life."
  91.
  92. "Now, we will start on the elemental planes. The realms of Uraheim, land of water, Ifraheim, land of fire, and Terraheim, land of stone. These realms are all rather simple as far as things go. However, they each have their own mysteries which I will try to cover." As he spoke he'd look up towards the ceiling and let out a soft hum.
  93.
  94. "Let's begin with Uraheim, it is from this realm that all water springs. Providing life and sustenance to not only those of us within the material realm but also to the great tree yggdrasil within the immaterial. I also believe this to be the realm were Sirenians go upon death but I have no way of knowing for sure. More research upon the Deep One's religion will be needed. Though, once I've spoken to more of that gods faithful I will know for sure. It is within this realm that all monsters of the depths reside and all bounties as well. It often floods over into Alfheim and Heleim. Causing a great deal of destruction within each."
  95.
  96. Shifting his gaze back down to his students he trailed on. "Ifraheim was the first place were Ryujin awoke after the great dragon's death. His rebirth brought forth an inferno that still burns today. Within this realm is the source of all fire and all heat. The souls of Dragons and the most devout of Fireblooded or other sects of Dragon worship awaken here. Its bordersare constantly in flux and the things which burn eternal are often a threat to those who dwell within the other realms." The Drakanite brought a hand up to rub the back of his neck.
  97.
  98. "Terraheim is the plan of stone, it is the realm of which all realm sit atop and yet it is also the realm in which all reams sit below. For the great peaks of Terraheim continual eternal within the twilight realms of death and life. This is were all great treasures go and were all great beings of the earth come. Its endless stones criss-crossed with tunnels of animals who await rebirth within its domain. It is also were the material known as Soulsteel is mined. A dangerous land to be sure."
  99.
  100. "Now, ask questions if you wish. I will be stepping aside for Vesper's part of the lecture. As he's an expert upon the realm of Heleim and those which dwell within it."
  101. (Gajin)
  102. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  103.
  104. [19:08] Jarus Koilante asks, "Does the connections you have with other magics such as water based or even stone based have an influence on these areas? If all the realms are connected through Yggdrasil and we draw from the mana around us and in yggdrasil, that would cause changes within, right?"
  105. [19:08] Gajin says, "Correct, by our actions the realms shift and twist. Yet, it is such minutia I chose not to go into details."
  106. [19:11] Jarus Koilante asks, "Out of a curiosity, would the power of a spell cause more or less of a change? If so, would more people channeling that mana grow it as well?"
  107. [19:11] Marga scribbled in the new realms, doodling little representations of the elements therein. She looked up at Vesper, curious as to why he was a particular expert, but that wasn't what the lecture was about.
  108. (Marga)
  109. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  110.
  111. [19:12] Gajin says, "More people using the same mana would grow its influence within the realms beyond. The power of those spells do effects as well."
  112. [19:14] Jarus flicks a triangle with the words "Open me" inscribed onto the note. Within the note is a small blurb of text
  113. (Jarus Koilante)
  114. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  115.
  116. [19:16] This man better be praying I didn't see that note. On Garljing.
  117. (Gajin)
  118. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  119.
  120. [19:17] Marga blinked at the little flying triangle, and honestly didn't notice it until it hit her. Rather than opening it, she just tucked it into her cloak, since she was busy writing.
  121. (Marga)
  122. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  123.
  124. [19:18] Attempting to dodge the pursuing Gajin, I throw an old piece oof stretched leather at his face and rush out of the door, or attempt to by any chance
  125. (Jarus Koilante)
  126. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  127.
  128. [19:19] Vesper looks between them all, only letting a sigh come through.
  129.
  130. "Helheim is home to a Lord of Darkness. Nethardin come from such a place, and they only go there for numerous reasons."
  131.
  132. "One of those reasons is being in the fact, that, you sold yourself to this darklord to do their bidding of taking others in there."
  133.
  134. "Trust me, you don't want to go there."
  135. (Vesper)
  136. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  137.
  138. [19:20] {Item} You picked up Leather x6. Dropped by Jarus Koilante.
  139. [19:22] There was so much to take in.
  140.
  141. Just when he thought the realm speak was over there were still more to be spoken of. It brought so many different questions. Mort began to think more about his own people. The Shenlong. If Ryujin awoke in Ifraheim, what about about Shenlong?
  142.
  143. Is there a land of lightning?
  144.
  145. So much to speak on, to ask. Mort starts to say something, but quickly retracts his statement. He'd be better off learning more on this later, Helhiem was a place that held his interests. He sought to learn of those who reside there, what it takes, and such.
  146.
  147. Mort still couldn't quite understand the concept of what is redeemable and what isn't. Maybe today would be the day he learns.
  148. (Mort Graves)
  149. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  150.
  151. [19:23] Gajin says, "Thank you Vesper, now! That covers our tour of the realms. There are no more currently known."
  152. [19:24] Mort Graves exclaims, "...gah!"
  153. [19:24] Gajin says, "Officially the lecture is over."
  154. [19:24] Marga didn't have much to doodle for Helheim. It was pretty straightforward. And that was it? She supposed it wasn't very complex.
  155. (Marga)
  156. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  157.
  158. [19:24] Gajin says, "But, I take it some of you may have questions."
  159. [19:25] Gajin says, "Like you young Morty."
  160. [19:26] Gajin didn't bother to add anything on Helheim. It was more in-depth than Vesper had spoken but it was also a realm that was better left a little shrouded in mystery.
  161. (Gajin)
  162. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  163.
  164. [19:26] Mort Graves says, "I'll seek you out, Lorekeeper Gajin sir."
