This revolutionary force makes use of mages who are kept shielded away from the eyes of the kingdom to create a communications and traveling network spanning several teleportation circles between cities.


Background
Currently uses the name Rena. Born on Mirtul 23, 325. Born as the last princess to the Powys Monarchy, she is the youngest and most unimportant of the royal family. There is no way she could possibly ascend to the throne, and was thus set up to be used for a political marriage just like the rest of her sisters. She was slated to be married to the heir of the Ashbridge House. At a young age she was engaged to Vincent Ashbridge, eldest son of the Ashbridge House. Her early childhood consisted of receiving several visits and gifts from him, as well as socializing with him in preparation for the day to come. Rowena always had reservations about herself, feeling sorrow whenever the public execution for a non-humanoid was being held. Her family and friends always fully supported the acts, and she was at a loss over why she didn’t. Was something wrong with her? This has to be the right thing, everyone in the kingdom believes so… it must be, right?

Eventually, she came face-to-face with a Mul whilst outside the palace. A smaller stature similar to her own, a hulking figure, a lack of hair, it seemed like all other Muls she’d seen before, except for one thing; it was walking the city streets without an owner. The guards who were with Rowena immediately raised their weapons, demanding that the Mul submit to questioning. They were after all, nothing more than a slave race of people just barely close enough to being human to be tolerated at best, within the Powys Monarchy. Rowena was unsure of what to do, and allowed her guards to take the initiative as the Mul didn’t respond to their demands- a fight broke out. In a flash, the Mul incapacitated her guards and approached Rowena, who was fearing for her life. Believing him to be an assassin, Rowena blinked away her tears and prepared to be held for ransom.

Surprisingly, the Mul introduced himself to her as Rikus- a man who seeked to change the rampant xenophobia of the kingdom. He apologized to Rowena for his actions, stating that he hoped that one day she and her family could see the fear in the eyes of the citizens, how they live in fear of Paladins who patrol the streets picking out one of their parents or children. Rowena was stunned, the sudden knowledge of people working to change the kingdom in this way blindsiding her. As Rikus was disappearing into the shadows, she called out, begging him to let her help. Knowing he would be in grave danger after what he did to her guards, she hurriedly gave him her gold and a request to find somewhere to hide away from the kingdom's eyes.

For a couple of months, Rikus kept in contact with Rowena. She learned how he was one of the leading revolutionaries working to change the kingdom for the better, and who the other revolutionaries were. She learned of their base of operations, and of the secret underground civilization below the city streets, deep within the labyrinth-like sewers, of how they contain teleportation sigils to the other cities of the kingdom, activated by back-alley wizards in hiding ever since graduating from the Magic Academy, but most importantly of how all these people were working together for the common goal of no longer fearing for their family being put to the stake for the race they were born as. However that ended all too shortly when Rowena’s brother Isadore grew curious about her constant escapades, discovering Rikus’ plans and how Rowena had been assisting him with small amounts of funding and information. Enraged at Rowena’s betrayal to the crown to associate with a slave-race and allow their propaganda to spread, he informed her fiance Vincent, who gleefully took it upon himself to scour Rikus’ hiding place and have him dragged out in public. Vincent had Rikus captured, tortured, and executed before Rowena, as an example of where her loyalties should lie.

Afterwards, she was sent to the city of Wohim to a nunnery as both punishment and to remedy her behavior from now on for the next several years. Being sent away was largely in order to have her become unnoticed again, in fear of the scandal she caused going public. As such she spent the next couple of years, submitting to her fate, but near the time of her marriage to Vincent, a miracle happened. Rastafarius Raevan, head of the Raevan House extended a hand to her plight, he offered to provide her safe passage out of the country to find her dream elsewhere, in exchange for helping him when she came back. In the depths of despair, Rowena immediately agreed and took the chance, requesting that she cannot help with harming her family, but she would do anything else. Eventually, she managed to escape the nunnery when a series of events set in motion by Rastafarius were set in motion, and took several hitched rides to Siven and Northwich, where she finally left the Kingdom, traveled across the Caiseal Highlands and boarded a ship towards the Ghaelid Confederacy.
Personality
Overly trusting, naive, optimisic and caring, Rena gives everyone the benefit of the doubt, even forcing herself to in order to prove her own beliefs to herself.
