The story of Oni

>Rough 'n tumble mountain Oni
>Lives near communities that still greatly fear her kind as vicious maneaters.
>Usually walks the same paths on her mountain every day. Occasionally comes across lost humans. She enjoys teasing and frightening them a little but she's softhearted deep down and always makes sure they end up safely finding their way home.

>Comes across evidence of a lost human. Looks like a makeshift camp with a recently snuffed out fire. A few sniffs of the air lets her know he's still nearby. She grins and talks in a loud, exaggerated voice while scanning the trees for movement. "Ohoho, what've we got here!? Humans on my mountain!? Well, I sure am gettin' a bit HUUNGRY!"
>She continues along her way, finding more tracks. She occasionally stops to sniff at the air and shout more in-character, vague threats just in case he's in earshot.
>"Been a long, long while since I had some human! Ain't had nothin' but greasy, fatty boar for weeks!"
>"I can smeeeelllll yoooouuuuuuu!"
>"You'll save yerself a lotta trouble if ya just come on out now!"

>She eventually comes across some blood scraped onto a rock. "Ooooh, did somebody take a fall!? If ya come on out I'll patch ya riiiiiight up, you can trust me! Eheh..."
>Then she comes across more blood
>And more
>Did he slice an artery or something?
>Animal tracks, wolf smell on the air. Was he attacked?
>Human's tracks get more erratic and panick-y. They're fresh too.
>Must be terrified on top of being hurt.
>There's more blood.

>"...H-...hey! HEY! You know I was joking, right!? Seriously! I don't eat people, I'm being serious!"
>"Look, I got bandages and medicine with me, just come on out!"
>"I swear! I promise! I just wanna help!"
>She's just a sobbing, blubbery mess after a few hours, desperately plowing through thorn-ridden brush and looking into every possible hiding spot she can find.
>"I'M SORRY! I'M SO SORRY, IT WAS JUST A JOKE, I THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY! ANCESTOR'S HONOR, I'M NOT TRYING TO HURT YOU, PLEASE COME OUT SO I CAN HELP!"
