  1. barrage??? it's no problem but i don't see any barrage :o?
  2.
  3. to start off here's an ask i got that was similar and still true: https://curiouscat.me/nisakomi/post/232940772 basically, meanie is the most popular, jeongcheol and soonhoon are very popular, the same kind of pairings as you see in ifandom mostly, but relatively speaking seokkwan and cheolhao stand out to me as more popular in china than in english fandom
  4.
  5. like i said then, i follow a lot of jun and wonhui fans so i think they're well represented but i think they're well represented in english fandom too? like, we don't have HUGE numbers or whatever but we always have some really committed artists, writers, translators, giffers...i don't think anyone ever goes without wonhui for a long period of time, i mean we def complain lmao but it's like...my top two otps in 2015 were wonhui and hoongyu and i kinda forgot about hoongyu a lot esp once i started paying attention to soongyu and stuff but i started looking them up again more recently and in comparison they're a frckn desert....
  6.
  7. in terms of themes...you know, it's been so long since i've mass read exo fic too so i can't really remember or say for certain. i read a bunch of chinese college AUs...the other problem here is my chinese is really really bad so i don't have time to read non-wonhui fics LOL but college AUs...i think chinese fic uses jealousy tropes more??? break ups??? maybe that's frequent in english fic too idk but it stands out to me how often unrequited or hinted junsol and junshua crop up in wonhui fic, sometimes just bc they're cute ships but more often than not as plot devices for jealous wonwoo etc...
  8. this might just be because i can't figure out where chinese fans hide that stuff but i tend to see less pwp...? i tend to feel that characters in cfic are more innocent - not that like really heavy and dark stuff isn't explored but i think it's kind of like the difference between chinese culture and western culture as well??? for example recently alissa and i were lamenting about the overabundance of frat boy AUs and fake-deep stoner wonwoo in english fic but in chinese fic no one ever does drugs because it's just like not a thing lmao (sotto voce: and i kinda prefer it that way...so sick of americanized AUs...also makes me feel so old when i read college AUs written by people who are clearly not yet in college...it's not your fault but...also the college environment and systems in china and korea are so different (from each other but also from the west) and it's refreshing seeing east asian settings for east asian characters l m f a o) but i've strayed from my point, basically the way chinese college students are different from american college students. i don't know if you have any experience on that front but the cultures are just so different themselves and that's reflected in the fics.
  9. oh another thing is like i briefly touched upon in that previous ask and in other asks, the way jun gets written is different. like c/k/j carats see jun as someone who can sometimes be really naive/innocent/childlike (he's not a baby we get it i agree infantilization is gross), as opposed to in ifandom that persistent and awful characterization of jun as some greasy suave dude who's competent and smooth...in what universe??? that's a whole other can of worms isn't it
  10.
  11. as for where i find the fics, i've read some on lofter but in general i go to http://tieba.baidu.com/f?kw=seventeen%E7%8E%8B%E9%81%93&ie=utf-8 the svt cp bar...the thing is, i've been told and seen many times that ppl seem to have beef with how it's run and fics will disappear and stuff idk there's some kind of drama there so some authors only post on their weibo accounts? but i'm not good enough at chinese to look for them so it's easier for me to look on the baidu bar...if you get curious, the chinese tag for wonhui is generally 佑灰
  12.
  13. hope you have a great day too!
