BACKGROUND → seokyung always felt a connection to music, so it made sense that all her life she wanted to make it. she loved to perform, but never saw herself as good enough or pretty enough to be an idol. so, instead of auditioning for companies, she decided to go to college to study music production, so if she couldn’t perform music, she could still create it. she was hired by the company as a producer — but after hearing her sing/rap on the demo tracks, offered her to audition to be a trainee to actually join the group. so, moral is, seokyung didn’t think she’d ever get to this point, but now she’s here and doesn’t think she’d give it up for anything.
PERSONALITY →
•STRAIGHT FORWARD :: “stop chasing yourself in circles”
— seokyung doesn’t like to sit still or
make lofty plans, she likes to just get down and do it. she always wants to be doing something, pushing towards success, not just talking about it or thinking about it. so while everyone might be discussing how they want to become better dancers, seokyung would say, don’t waste time thinking about it, go practice! (maybe it’s the mom in her, but some say her best trait is giving lectures on things that are helpful, but annoying)
•TOUGH (LOVE) :: “if you keep it up like that, you’ll pass out during the filming.”
— seokyung pretends that she doesn’t care, a tsundere in a way. she pretends to be cold, but genuinely cares about others well being. that’s why for every time she’ll say to practice, she’ll lecture someone on taking a break. she is also tough in the way that she is one of the older contestants, she’s been through college and grown up a lot more than some of the younger girls. she knows that if she just gave up easily, she’d never get anywhere, so she has to be tough. softies never make it.

— seokyung transfers her concern to others so they don’t see how much  she struggles with her own image. she has to learn to love herself before she can teach others the same, but sometimes she feels that she never will be able to. seokyung is fierce until someone criticizes her looks or something else that she has tried her best to control but never will be able to.

— seokyung hates to back down, especially from a challenge. she can argue over petty things for hours until she doesn’t remember what the initial fight was about. when she gets really stubborn, she goes into “silent seokyung” mode where she just blocks everyone out. it takes a lot to irritate her to that point, but once she gets there there’s no going back.

— seokyung just spouts life advice, she tells them to find courage and tries to embody it within herself. she also hates it when people try to put her in a box, make her fit. she knows she won’t ever fit into that perfect box, so to her there’s no point in trying. she’ll always be seokyung, so she’ll just have to change the box to fit her.

— seokyung is wise and philosophical at times, it’s what makes her a good lyricist. of course, some people say it makes her boring, but without her quirks she’d never have the skills and producing abilities she has today. so what if she declines doing stupid things once in a while, it doesn’t make her less fun, just more responsible and oh she’s really starting to sound like she’s fifty years old now
