  2. //A SHORT STORY//
  3. ⚫ WHAT ARE YOU FIGHTING FOR? SHE'S THE ONE AND ONLY DOMINATOR - MORE LORE & GORE ⚫
  4.
  5. The evening progressed as he expected, she finished her shower and then went to bed. The light would stay on for around half an hour or so before she turned it off. He waited for an hour, just to be sure she was down for the night. Then up the stairs he went, wary of any creaks. He had learned that if a floorboard should creak, it was better to roll forward with it and then remove your weight. If you stopped suddenly, so did the creak but if you kept moving it faded away. People tended not to notice them then. He didn't know if she was a deep or light sleeper but at this point it didn't really matter. She was already dead. He figured he would take care of it quickly, maybe stab her a few times? Twenty or thirty before cutting her neck deeply, perhaps. He wanted to almost but not quite, sever the head. It would be seen as a violent crime, they would likely look for exes, enemies or maybe even try to find a stalker. However he was sure they would not expect random killing. The door to her room was set ajar and he pushed it open with prodding fingers, gloved up. In the gloom he could see her, her frame a small lump beneath the sheets. Her face, just peeking above the edges, untroubled and calm. She looked inviting to him, as well as supple. He moved further into the room where the smell of her perfume is light and flowery, filling his nostrils. He edged himself closer to her, becoming excited for the kill. Soon he stood beside her bed, trying to decide whether or not to rip the covers back before stabbing her when she spoke.

  7. "Where ever you learned, you failed." He jumped back immediately after and then smiled as he studied her still motionless. She was still asleep? Talking in her dreams? "Now I am very tired and I just want to get this over with." She opened her pale golden eyes, slowly and timidly sat up. He stood where he was, unsure of how to proceed when he found she really was awake. "How did you know I was coming?" He asked. "Please, it was obvious. You were not exactly subtle in your stalking. Since day one." "No one has ever--" "I'm sure. First time for everything and all that. Really though, you can't be serious, mainly after what they told you." "Told me?" "Yeah, when giving you the lil' briefing about me... I mean, they did tell you didn't they?" "No, I don't ask and they don't tell." "Oh? Well. Now I almost feel bad for you. They should at least let you know who's going to be killing you." He smiled, feeling reassured after her quip. Surely she was bluffing, she had no training, he knew that much simply from watching her. She was trying to throw him off balance so she could try to run. Clever girl. He raised the knife. "It's nothing personal. I'll make it as quick as I can." "And so you should try, but not to worry. Same here." He swung the knife towards her throat, he would stay true to his word and make it quick. The knife slid through the air with a spark and burn of light tracing behind it. The swinging force of his arm was thrown off balance and he felt himself dragged forward. His eyes widened in surprise and his face became almost comical. He had fallen onto the bed where she had once been. Though she had been lying beneath the covers, he did not feel any warmth of her. She was standing beside the bed now, looking down at him with disinterest written in her stare. "You're faster than some of the others, I'll give you that much, but that is all."

  9. He watched her pick dirt from under her nails and he trembled when he heard her voice again. "Though they only send their best assassins, once they're done with them of course. However, I've grown tired of your game, its wasting my time." He now struggled to untangle himself from the sheets. "This was all planned... Why?!" "Well, partly to keep me sharp and partly because of what I can do. I can dispose of the bodies really easily and never be caught. On top of that, you were not really ZEXON material." He was becoming nervous now, as far as he could tell she was not lying and she was fast, he had never met anyone this fast before and it felt unnatural. He was trying to regroup now. "I can disappear, please..." "Oh, baby! Here we go now, you're just going offer to disappear? I can say you attacked me, I killed you, so on and so on... I like how you offered me the same courtesy when you thought I was just another mark." "That's very... different, please." "Why? Because you thought you were going to win then? No deal, sorry. It comes with the job, you know that. Besides, you could still win, it's unlikely, but possible." He stood up slowly, trying to feel out another weapon on his belt. "Fine, let's just get this over with." A'Tasha smiled, her growing fangs almost uncommonly bright in the darkness of night.
