two faced. she is insecure, fragile, gets easily emotionally scarred, sensitive, lonely, feels lost; without a place to call home. she can't show the true her to others. she's afraid she'll end up lonelier than she is already so she pretends to be only one half of her personality; the good one. the painfully smiley, cheery and caring umeko. she can never get too close to anyone, she's always afraid her not so perfect side (that she sees as bad) shows unintentionally. she's terrified that someone will find out that after all jeon umeko isn't that flawless. what's ironic is that she herself thinks she has to be perfect but doesn't mind it when others aren't. the funniest part is that she tells others to do the opposite of what she does when it comes to her; "its okay, you're perfect in your own way, it doesn't matter if you make mistakes, everyone does. please don't underestimate yourself. it's okay to breakdown." umeko is that kind of friend. so her being there for everyone, her listening to everyone's troubles and giving advice .. people honestly always feel like she has her own stuff solved and is happy and mentally stable. but in reality; she just has everything pilled up. other people though would be surprised to hear that. most of her friends haven't ever seen her in a vulnerable state; the reason she has become like this is probably due to, the times she actually let go of everything and was just her raw self, people left. so now, it's become hard to open up. she's gotten so used to pretend that, sometimes, she can even fool herself. fake smiles, fake satisfaction, fake realization, fake happiness. but so often, she wants to get out of the lie she created. she wants to be seem as a human. after all it was all her fault. she was the one who accustomed others to see her as something she isn't and never was.
