another drunken rambling. uh except i'm not very drunk anymore, i'm actually on a looot of vicodin. legally i might add. i severely dislocated my leg twice in one day and they gave me this.

anyway trust me when i surprise you and tell you that the guys are harmless despite what your furry pals say and despite the propaganda put out by leftist blogs. i'd advise all of you to fear tumblr before you do 4chan/8chan.
i've been posting on both daily since 2008. which is to say i've been posting on 4chan since i was 12 years old. and as we're all well aware 12 year olds are fucking retarded. so that means my posts were fucking retarded. and actually still are.
so my young age coupled with my mental deficiencies and drug use obviously led to me being "in the sights" of 4chan users many times. sometimes i would deliberately place myself in their sights for fun or for attention.
and guess what? nothing happened. my full name, street address, photographs of myself (even pornographic photographs), my mother's full name, phone numbers, what have you. all were uncovered multiple times throughout my years of posting there, mostly by my own fault. and nobody did anything with any of that information. i didn't receive anything in the mail, no one called my house, no one got me in trouble at school.
and i wasn't just an average retarded kid posting innocent stuff either. i was spending entire days ruining these guy's threads that they cared a lot about. i won't go into the boring details or brag or anything but these guys had very much reason to fuck my life up. and they didn't. because they're all pussies.
despite what news stations would lead you to believe, you could go on there right now and post any personal information you wish, even credit card numbers, and not a single thing would happen.

a better more recent and relevant example would be their "targeting" of jasonafex. there's been a good 30 threads about jasonafex on /furry/ the past couple months. 30 threads with 300+ posts each shitting on him. the guys will all swear to you that they hate jason to death and they've called him every name in the book and photoshop his head onto caricatures of stereotypical jews. they write entire books about how much they hate him.
however, when it comes down to it, have they actually negatively impacted his life? thousands of people on /furry/ collaborating together in these threads to shit on him, and yet all of it remains verbal criticism.
not one of those guys have had an impact on jason in any way. the big scary 8chan boogeyman your redditor friends warned you about have done absolutely. nothing. to jason except talk about him.
i'd take it a step further even. i think if someone in those threads were to propose an actual attack on jason that the same guys who spent five hours shitting on him in those threads would be against it. they generally shun any suggestions of real attacks.

there's also another misconception about 4chan and 8chan, and that's far-right leanings, racism and misogyny. all exaggerated heavily by the media. people on 8chan who express their right wing political opinions are in fact openly and savagely mocked and excluded from discussion. most of the guys there have no political opinions at all. they don't care. they only care about video games. but that doesn't stop them from shitting on republicans that they know nothing about just for the sake of it.

and the last thing people wrongly fear about 4chan and 8chan is alleged mental illness among the users there. ...i've spent eight years observing them and interacting with them and i have yet to see much of it. only very rare instances. i'd say maybe 4% are actually what you'd call mentally ill from what i've seen (and i'm one of them).
what most of the users really are are normal guys having an identity crisis. they don't fit in with the average man very well and they don't fit in with social outcasts much either. and where all those guys who are in a gray area between normal and fuck up go is 4chan and 8chan.
and what's happened is this strange clash of normal and awkward spawned this really confusing thing i've decided to call an "autistic culture". these guys all have a very strange worship of autism spectrum disorder. they worship some of its socially inclining symptoms and they enjoy pretending they are sufferers of autism within the little cliques that form on 4chan and 8chan. you'll see them pretend to have a stutter and you'll see them fabricate exaggerated narratives of awkward social encounters.
but, it's only a few symptoms of autism that they are infatuated with. when an actual fucked in the head person arrives with the symptoms of autism that are unappealing to them, they retreat. it's a bit of a paradox. imagine a group of men who wear make-up featuring extreme facial scarring dressed in robes having a party celebrating lepers. then some genuine lepers enter. upon noticing these are the real thing, the fake lepers shriek and run away, throwing rocks towards the real lepers and shouting profanity all the while. i see this happen on 8chan almost every day.

in conclusion,
4chan and 8chan is nothing but a bunch of harmless posers pretending to have crippling social disorders when in reality, on average, they have highly active social and romantic lives and mostly possess politically correct opinions and worldviews. at worst, the 4chan/8chan user may have "strange" video game interests, such as nintendo. the averageman would not have a hard time getting on with them.
