Video Sync Fix

If the episode tends to go out of sync often then this is because some streaming services use source video that was sped up slightly to allow for more ads to be run when it was broadcast without anyone noticing the disparity.

If you want to sort this, you have two options. One is 'close enough' and requires downloading some trusted video player from a site. This will allow you to play the video at 104% speed or 96% speed depending on if demomorg's video is going too slow or too fast. This won't be perfect, but it'll be close enough that it'll mean you only have to resync every few minutes.

There is a second solution which will perfectly time it so no syncing whatsoever is necessary, but it will require downloading a plugin for the above video player, which is completely safe but not from a verified source since it was created by one of demomorg's patreons. It's up to you to make the decision to install this.

Method 1:

Download Video LAN VLC media player by going here: videolan.org/vlc and clicking the orange Download VLC button. Run the file that's downloaded, and click Yes, OK or Next until its installed.

Run VLC by (assuming Windows) clicking your start button and typing in VLC until you see VLC Video Player and clicking on it. This will bring up a window with a traffic cone in the centre. This is the video player you can play any of demomorg's videos if you download them from patreon. To play a video, simply select it wherever you download it,, and drag it onto the window, letting go of the mouse and the video should start playing. It'll still play at 100% speed however, so the sync issues will still be an issue.

Next go to the View menu, and make sure that Status Bar is active, if it is it'll have a little tick. If not, click it to turn on the Status Bar.

This will display the status bar, which is along the bottom of the VLC window. It'll say 1.00x in a little box to the bottom right. Click this and you'll get a slider with which to speed up or slow down any video that's playing in the player.

If your TV show video is moving faster than demomorg's, then you need to move it one notch foward to 1.04, if its moving slower, then you need to move it back to 0.96. This will make the video play at 4% faster, or 4% slower depending on what you want.

This is CLOSE but not quite right. It'll be a much better experience. If you're okay with trusting demomorg's patreons (particularly the writer of this), you can install a plug-in to VLC that will make your sync 100% perfect.

Method 2: Follow method 1 up to this point.

It's a 'lua' script which VLC uses for plugins to expand its functionality. It provides more accurate speed controls so that 4% is not the minimum amount you can slow or speed the video.

You need to find the plugin directory of Video LAN VLC player. It should be in the following folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\lua\extensions

Copy this file into there, then rerun VLC. You should be able to get to the new speed controls by clicking 'View' menu at the top, and selecting 'VLC Speed Controller'.

When selecting this option, you should have a new window appear you can move around and place in a suitable place. On it will be several buttons, but the only ones you should care about should say '0.9575', '1.0000' and '1.0425'

Clicking these will set the speed of the video, 0.9575 should be exactly correct to sync demomorg's video if its running too fast. 1.0425 should be exactly correct to sync if it is running too slow. 1.0000 can be used to reset to 100% speed when these are not needed.

You'll never have to worry about video sync speeds again, these buttons should always provide you with the correct speed if any creator's videos are out of sync with your own.
