  1. 01-G
  2. >You've recently been stationed at an emergency ward in a distant rural area as part of your vet training.
  3. >The population is so scarce many days go by without a single patient.
  4. >Tonight, you're the only one left active on the emergency phone lines. Everyone else has either gone home or fallen asleep at their desks
  5. >Away from the busy city nightlife you were used to, the country evening was eerily quiet.
  6. >And extremely boring.
  7. >Well, at least you have an internet connection.
  8. >You open your laptop and flick through your regular news sites, hoping there'd be something that catches your eye
  9. >Politicians bickering, the discovery of gravitons, some sport event. It's the same thing you see every day.
  10. >Nevertheless you trudge through them, anything's better than staring at a phone for eight hours.
  11. >You were halfway through the article on gravitons when the sound of a large explosion shook the windows of the facility.
  12. >Alert, you follow the protocols for any sort of disaster response - checking the patients, the staff, the equipment.
  13. >Surprisingly, nothing's out of order. Hell, the sleeping doctors haven't even been woken up.
  14. >Without anything to fix, your duty would've been to just ignore the whole event and return to your desk. If anyone got hurt, they'd be ringing you up.
  15. >Yet, your curiosity got the best of you. And you're sure one of the sleepers could get the phone anyways.
  16. >You put on your jacket and grab a flashlight before heading out the entrance of the building.
  17. >A gentle night breeze accompanied the faint chirping of crickets as you walked into the meadows.
  18. >Trying to remember the direction of the blast, you slowly wander through the night.
  19. >The moon offered a generous amount of light this evening. Its gleaming surface gave you sight without the need for a torch.
  20. >Your intuition carries you along one of the routes you knew, your feet shuffling through a field of short grass.
  21. >"Mmr...where...am I?"
  22. >The sudden murmur made you stop in your tracks. Whoever made it was close. and feminine.
  23. >You turn on your flashlight and sweep the nearby facility.
  24. >Nothing but trees. But you swore you heard someone, who could've s-
  25. >"Hm?"
  26. >Above. The voice came from above. Wait, what?
  27. >Involuntarily, you shine your torch upwards
  28. >"Ah!"
  29. >What you saw was a face. A big one. With a horn.
  30. >Pointing the torch back down in shock, you wonder how you managed to miss such a big...thing.
  31. >The face belonged to some sort of quadruped, coated in an unnatural shade of mint.
  32. >What you mistook for tree trunks were actually the forelegs of the gargantuan creature.
  33. >You scan your flashlight across its body. Its mane was a similar colour, but lighter.
  34. >Was it some giant horse? Goat? Despite your veterinarian knowledge you couldn't really determine what it was. Maybe it's an alien?
  35. >Its tail was of the same colour as its mane, and as you come to its hind legs you find a strange mark akin to a lyre. Yet it appeared more like a tattoo than anything nature could produce.
  36. >All the while you were examining it, the creature's been eyeing you too. Its eyes followed you with a giant grin on its face.
  37. >You're finding that stare quite uncomfortable.
  38. >A-Anyways, you take out your cell phone to call back to your station. Standard protocol for finding any wounded or lost animal.
  39. >But before the call could connect a strong force suddenly lifts you off the ground.
  40. >"A real human! A real live human! Oh thank Celestia it worked! My spell worked! Well actually I thought they'd be a lot lot bigger than this but a real human!"
  41. >When you come to your senses from the vertigo and the auditory experience, you were suspended in mid-air right in front of the creature's two enormous eyes.
  42. >Damn they were huge, an iris alone matched your stature.
  43. >You're forced to stare into the pair, their golden ovals glistening in the moonlight.
  44. >The experience was unusually soothing, making you forget about how many rules of physics that were just broken.
  45. >But that same sensation of uneasiness returned as it opened its mouth again.
  46. >"Ah, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Lyra Heartstrings, a pony of Equestria. And you are?"
  47. >It was difficult, but you managed to squeak out a reply.
  48. >"Well it's nice meeting you! Mr. Anonymous!"
  49. >The "pony", as it called itself, extended one of its forelegs towards you. Was it trying to shake your hand?
  50. >You involunarily make a guess of its size. The flat base (hoof?) could easily fit over four times your bodylength in its diameter.
  51. >You're still not used to something so big...existing, let alone talking and trying to make friends.
  52. >Nevertheless, you stick a hand out, only to be greeted by the same sensation of vertigo as you were rapidly shaken.
  53. >The creature releases its grip as if to say something, forgetting that you were in mid-shake.
  54. >The momentum flings you up over its body...
  55. >...and down again. Looks like gravity is still in tact.
  56. >You flail your hands wildly in an attempt to slow the fall.
  57. >Looking down, you're headed right towards its tail.
  58. >You grab hold of a few strands as you pass, hanging on as best you could.
  59. >"Uh Mister? Where'd you go?"
  60. >The creature starts turning around, trying to look for you. It accidentally swings your lifeline to and fro.
  61. >You try to lean against the direction of the swing, attempting to stabilise it but with a sudden jerk of its body, the weight of its tail slams into you.
  62. >All of a sudden you're pushed against the creature's enormous buttocks.
  63. >Your back sinks into the surprisingly soft surface. Were the danger of being crushed not present, you think it'd have been comfortable being here.
  64. >You feel your face starting to turn red. Damn it, this isn't the time for that!
  65. >You flail and kick about, trying to get the tail off your body.
  66. >"Ah! There you are! S-Sorry about that!"
  67. >Looks like she felt that. The force against your body subsides and the previous pulling sensation overtakes you again.
  68. >You were lifted up, over its massive body and placed onto its head, right next to its horn...which was covered in some sort of aura until you landed.
  69. >You scramble up on your feet amongst the hair, using the horn as support.
  70. >As you get up, the beautiful scenery of the night is splayed out before you. You get a full view of the stars, the hills disappearing into the dark horizon.
  71. >You could see the building you came from at this height. Which is...woah.
  72. >You make the mistake of looking down, and quickly grab onto the horn for safety.
  73. >Giggles come from below you as you notice the golden eyes staring at you again.
  74. >"So uhm..." It looks a bit embarrased. "I-I've actually been interested in your species for a while now and was wondering if..." Its iris suddenly shrinks in a cartoon-like manner, as if it's realised something. "Oh no..."
  75. >It sits down and places one of its hooves to its chin. "Will it work...I could...no..."
  76. >Whether it was out of curiosity, pity or sheer craziness, you decided to ask it what was wrong.
  77. >It's startled by your question. "It's just that...I thought I could uh, live with you for a bit." Its face suddenly turns a shade of red. "A-as a study! And I don't think we can at this size anyhow. Maybe I should just go back..."
  78. >This was interesting. Some kind of giant alien arrives and wants to observe? You really shouldn't be so excited about this but after weeks and weeks of boredom, this was what you needed.
  79. >You quickly reassure the pony, telling it you'll try and figure something out.
  80. >Its ears shoot up and that grin that followed you returns.
  81. >"Oh thank you thank you thank you!" You're suddenly swept off its head and towards its abdomen.
  82. >The two enormous forelegs come towards you, trapping you against its body. You guess it's giving you a hug?
  83. >But it wasn't a painful experience, and you felt strangely comfortable within its grasp, the warmth of its body a welcoming change to the cool night temperature.
  84. >It soon returns you to the top of its head and gives you an enthusiastic smile. "So where are we off to?"
  85. >You motion towards the strange corrugated roof of your hospital and the two of you begin your journey back to base, making a loud boom with every step it takes.
