  1. The girl crouched down suddenly. …Um, I think her name was Ikusaba…
  2.
  3. “W-what’s wrong?” The surprised boy―er, Naegi, I think?―asked. The girl replied in a
  4. cautious tone.
  5.
  6. “…Someone’s here.”
  7.
  8. Instantly, the atmosphere in the lab became far more tense.
  9.
  10. “Eh? Are they hiding…?”
  11.
  12. “Sorry for interrupting. I wasn’t trying to hide! But you really shouldn’t spread rumors about
  13. people!”
  14.
  15. The voice, which called out from nowhere in particular, had each of us instinctively looking
  16. around the lab.
  17.
  18. “…Huh?” Regardless, no matter how hard we looked, there was no sign of anyone.
  19.
  20. “No, I’m here! Look look, over here!”
  21.
  22. “Eh? W-where…?” Feeling somewhat panicked, I restlessly continued scanning the room.
  23.
  24. “O-over there!” Naegi called out, pointing toward the lab’s door, where Ikusaba was headed.
  25.
  26. “Ah!”
  27.
  28. I noticed a little later than the others, but right in front of the door stood a boy with a pure,
  29. innocent face.
  30.
  31. “Oh, you finally noticed me?”
  32.
  33. His face lacked any distinctive features, and strangely enough his voice seemed to lack any
  34. uniqueness as well.
  35.
  36. “It took you a little while but you noticed me in the end… Well, it’s my talent’s fault, so it can’t
  37. be helped…. I’ll forgive you.”
  38.
  39. “W-why’s there a kid here?!” Naegi blurted out, startled by the boy.
  40.
  41. “Hey, hey, you shouldn’t treat me like I’m a kid! I don’t think it’s that rare to see someone with a
  42. babyface but I’m a meritorious high school student at Hope’s Peak Academy! I even went to the
  43. trouble of using a difficult word, like ‘meritorious’… Oh, what’s all this?”
  44. The boy’s line of sight fell to the floor where Madarai lay.
  45.
  46. “My oh my… Looks like you’ve gotten yourselves into quite a mess…”
  47.
  48. “Ah! Y-you’re wrong about that!” Naegi quickly ran in between the boy and Madarai, trying to
  49. obstruct his view. “It’s not what it looks like! …How do I explain, um…”
  50.
  51. The boy patted his hand on Naegi’s shoulder.
  52.
  53. “Ah, don’t fret. There’s no need to make excuses around me. I’m actually also investigating this
  54. case… Isn’t that right, Big Sis?”
  55.
  56. “Eh?” Despite being called upon to back up the boy’s point, I didn’t remember anything about it
  57. at all. I wasn’t able to muster any more than a hesitant “I guess so?” as I tilted my head to the
  58. side.
  59.
  60. “…Huh? Don’t tell me, you’ve forgotten about me again?” He folded his arms, looking strangely
  61. happy as he nodded. “Well, I’m used to people forgetting who I am, so it’s fine. It’s just another
  62. side-effect of my talent! I mean, look, I said I have no presence, didn’t I? People don’t notice me
  63. very often, and they say that they forget about me a lot… but you know, Big Sis…” The boy
  64. started rubbing his hands and raised his voice again, “I’d like to request that this time when I say
  65. my name you remember it! I am Yuto Kamishiro! I’m the Ultimate Spy from the 77th class!”
  66.
  67. “W-wait… a second…” I protested as the boy came closer. I opened up Ryoko Otonashi’s
  68. Memory Notebook and quickly skimmed to try and find any memories that mentioned the boy.
  69.
  70. “Oh, I got it! Kamishiro! I remember you! Kamishiro with absolutely no unique features
  71. whatsoever!”
  72.
  73. “I wouldn’t say none…” murmured Ikusaba with a neutral expression. “He looks like a doll
  74. made by an inept politician… Nothing but bad vibes.”
  75.
  76. I didn’t think she was the type to say things so bluntly.
  77.
  78. Kamishiro glared at her for a moment before his gaze returned to me. As he began speaking once
  79. more, he did so in an over-the-top voice.
  80.
  81. “Weeeellllll thennn!! It’s really awful you’re so forgetful, Big Sis! When you told me the first
  82. time, I thought you were joking! Honestly, I almost laughed it off, ahaha!”
