Paper Mario: A Story from Beneath

Long ago, two races ruled over the land. Toads and Monsters. Despite their differing cultures, they lived in harmony for centuries, though as time went on, the Toads began to become wary of the Monsters. Though this was not baseless, as a mighty demon had rose from the earth and told them of the monsters' hidden power. The ability to not only cast magic at will, but absorb others Souls. The demon had cut the Toads a deal, and a simple one at that. The demon told the Toads of a magical entity known as The Star of Seals which resided on top of the Star Summit, guarded by the Seven Star Spirits. If the Toads could acquire this for the demon, he would get rid of the Monsters swiftly and quickly. After a long discussion, the Toads couldn't help but agree. After a treacherous journey through the wild and to Star Summit, the Star of Seals was stealthily acquired, and right under the Star Spirit's noses too. With the Star of Seals in the demon's hands, he fufilled the Toad's desires. Using a powerful magical spell, the demon had unexpectedly sealed the Monsters beneath the Earth. No longer did the Toads have to worry about the Monsters overpowering them..

But there was one small problem.

Using the Star of Seal's near limitless power, the demon had plunged the Mushroom Kingdom into darkness. The Toads where presumably hopeless to rebel, though after an long battle, the Toads where barely able to overpower the demon and use the Star of Seals against him to cast a powerful magic spell. Using the last of their willpower, the Toads had sealed the demon inside of the Star of Seals and sent the star deep beneath the Earth's crust. The Toads grieved over the foolish decisions they made that day, but no one would ever have to know what happened..

Until now.

Prolouge 1: bowser seals himself, kammy, mario, peach and luigi underground like an idiot. mario and some other dudes get seperated and fall underground, mario finds the star underground, and unknowingly shatters it, spreading the pieces throughout the underground and releases the demon from the star. the demon coaxes mario into helping them, and explains the situation. mario needs to find the seven pieces that he split the star into to reform it and gain its energy back to destroy the barrier and escape from the underground. Encounter Flowey.

Prolouge 2: The Ruins

Get guided through the ruins by Toriel. Napstablook fight. and leave to the hub world, Snowdin. Whimsie and Napstablook join you.

Chapter 1: Snowdin Forest and Snowdin Town

Encounter Sans and Papyrus, and learn that Papyrus has a piece of the Star of Seals. Fight him for it, Date, and then encounter Luigi. Monster kid joins you

Bowser Interlude: The Ruins

Hub world: Snowdin Town and Snowdin Cavern

Central hub for getting to all other areas, via pipes in the Caves and River Person.

Chapter 2: Waterfall

First encounter with Undyne, learn she has a piece of the Star of Seals and knows of its power. Fight her for it. Aaron joins you.

Bowser Interlude: Snowdin Forest

Chapter 3: fort aquarius rip off

Travel throught a fortress and Waterfall. Find a piece of the seal of stars there. Fight royal guard troops. Undyne rematch and date. Temmie joins you.

Chapter 4: Hotland

Meet alphys and mettaton. Learn mettaton is holding a tournament thats hes putting on live tv for a piece of the star of seals. enter tournament, progress etc, fight mettaton in finals for it. mettaton also tries to kill u and sabotage u and shit what a dick and then my nigga VULKIN JOINS YOU

Chapter 5: new area

idk yet peach is here tho and some person joins you

Chapter 6: Return to Hotland and The True Lab, The CORE

sans date and then he joins you after the date. amalgamates. spook. alphys trying to do determination experiments with a piece of the star. Amalgamates escape lab and form into a huge beast, overthrowing the CORE. fight and tame it and alphys will reward you with the piece of the star. alphys date.

Bowser Interlude: new area

Chapter 7: New Home City, New Home

Fight bowser in judgement hall. Asgore is well aware you're in the underground now. fight with asgore for the star and your soul, fight interrupted by toriel. reunion of everyone. flowey attacks, and absorbs the souls, mario uses the star to defeat asriel and get him back to normal. talk to asriel. barrier breaks, everyone is happy?? demon turns on mario and uses the star against everyone.

Chapter 8: The Surface

The demon takes over the surface and posseses peaches body (gee this is familliar) Mario, Bowser and the monsters have to team up to get it back and save peach from the demon.
