- WF Client and Reporting server installation (step-wise)

- Application Server:
- An application server is used to process both web and window based
- application requests.
- Application Server supports any technology from java J2EE.
- Application Server can provide the support for servlet, JSPS,
- HTML + EJBS JMS..
- These servlet, JSPS, HTML are inbuilt server provided by the
- webserver. It provides support for web related technology.
- Any HTTP requests from the GUI is getting processed in app server.
- Webserver:
- Web Server is used to process only Web Applications.
- Web Server support only for Web related Technologies.
- Web Server can provide the support for servlet, JSPS, HTML.
- TOMCAT:
- It acts both as web server and Application Server
- In earlier versions, Tomcat 5.0, 5.5 were only Web server s and after that Some
- more features are added in TOMCAT so now a days used as Application server
- also.
- WF client and server Installation:
- Steps:
- 1. Uninstall WebFOCUS client and Reporting Server.
- 2. Cleanup Residual files and registry.
- 3. Restart Machine.

- 4. Install WebFOCUS client and Reporting Server.
- Note: We can install WebFOCUS client and Reporting Server together in parallel
- too.
- 5. Verify all the servers are installed properly.
- 6. Post installation configurations
- 1.Uninstall WebFOCUS client and Reporting Server.
- There are two ways in maintaining the server.
- > Service mode.
- > Console mode.
- Steps to stop servers from services:
- 1. Login Local machine
- 2.Go to start and Search > Services.msc
- 3.services page will open
- 4.select >> Apache TOMCAT>> click Stop
- 5.select >> Derby>> click Stop
- 6.select >> WebFOCUS 82 RC Distribution Server>> click Stop
- 7.select >> WebFOCUS 88 Reporting Server>> click Stop
- Steps to uninstall:
- 1.Click start button >> all programs >> cmwin7-01
- 2.select information builders
- 3.select >> TOMCAT>> click Uninstall Tomcat----> Uninstall---->done
- 4.select >> DERBY>> click Uninstall derby---->uninstall ---->done
- 5.select >> WebFOCUS 82 >> click Uninstall WebFOCUS 82 ---->uninstall ----
- >done

- 6.select >> WebFOCUS 88 server >> click Uninstall WebFOCUS 88 server--->ok
- 2.Cleanup Residual files.
- 1. Goto C: or D: disk
- 2. Select ibi folder
- 3. Delete all the folder except apps folder .
- Registry cleanup:
- 1.Goto to start type: regedit
- 2.Select ---->HKEY LOCAL MACHINE
- 3.Select software
- delete information builders files/folders
- 4.Select System
- Expand control sets
- 5. Select service in control sets
- select (Tomcat , Derby, WebFOCUS 82, WebFOCUS 88) and
- clean up if available .
- Repeat the same for all control sets including current control set.
- Then use Ccleaner inorder to delete the cache, temp files and cookies.
- 3.Restart Machine.
- 1.click start → All programs → click Window security
- 2.click up Arrow → click restart.

- 4.Install WebFOCUS client and Reporting Server.
- Steps:
- 1.Type: \\bigport in start button
- 2.rels_ development
- 3.Select Head →
- Inside Head contains:
- 1. app studio_64bit
- 2. WebFOCUS
- 3.WebFOCUS bue
- 4. Web Query
- 4.select WebFOCUS
- 5.Select latest package (package name)
- 6.Win 64_single_file_pkg → install.
- You can cross verify the pack id and java num using package.data
- LICENSE KEY :-
- Differentiated by two ways:
- 1. Based on features (or components)
- 2. Based on Number of users(User count)
- Once Installation is completed → OK → Next
- 1. I accept the terms of the License Agreement → next
- 2. Enter License Code :9ULD2BR27E9QK5QKBB
- 3. Site Code: 9999
- 4. Select – Typical → Next
- 5. Select D: → Give - Next
- 6. mail server : ibismtp.ibi.com → Give - Next

- 7. Derby / Repository Credentials
- Username: webfocus (must be lower case)
- Password : webfocus (must be lower case)
- Then you can Double check Selected parameter whatever you have installed
- here .
- 8.Click Install
- Once Client installation is done : we have to uncheck 2nd Check Box → Next
- Click Done → Automatically WebFOCUS page will open
- pass the Credentials: Username :admin
- Password : admin
- Verify all pass in verification utility .
- Reporting Server Installation:
- 1.Copy : \\win2012\R729999D\tape\alt_version\tape\iserver\Disk
- 2.Click Setup.exe → Choose Default language –> English → Next
- 3.→ License Key: 200-378-1231-61 → next
- 4.I agree the terms of the License Agreement → Yes
- 5.In WebFOUCS 88 Server → Select --- D:\ → Next
- 6.Reporting Server Xfocus credentials :
- username : srvadmin
- password : srvadmin
- 7.Click next → Double check Selected parameter → continue
- 8.Click Install→ click Do not start now → Finish.
- Post Installation steps:

- start server in (console mode):
- 1. Goto Start program
- 2. Information Builders
- 3. WebFOCUS 88 Server → Start SEC OFF
- start server from services:
- we have to add the Config file in server installation in back end to make it
- run OFF mode. For that reason we adding the config file
- Steps : 1. D:\ibi\srv88\wfs\bin → Right click New text : edaenv.cfg
- 2.In edaenv.cfg file ------> EDAEXTSEC=OFF
- 3.save and close
- 4. Type : services.msc → in start
- 5.Double click WebFOCUS 88 server
- 6.Change automatic Mode→ Apply → Ok
- Then Start → Information Builders → WebFOCUS 88 Server → Web console
- → Workspace → Give : License Active Report : 011879
- → Click : save &Restart button
- Memory Leakage Issue(Heap size issue)
- Two scenarios of heap issue:
- When the report has more number of records (Ex. A report more than 2mb)
- will yield heap error.
- More number of users want access at the same time we will get the heap
- error.

- Note: Whenever we get the performance issue based on java heap size, we have
- to increase the heap size
- Steps to increasing Heap Size
- 1. Goto to start → Click Information builder
- 2. Click tomcat → Click Configuration Utility
- 3. Click JAVA tab In that Double the value of Initial and Maximum
- heap size.
- Deployment:
- It is a process used to clean up all app server temp files cache &
- cookies whenever the WF client performance seems to be down occupied by the
- cache/adhoc requests /work build up in the appserver.
- * DB/repository will have the following resources – Domains tree and it contents,
- portals tree and its contents, SSYS -> Users, groups, rules , roles, rules on
- resources. So, while recreating repos tables all of the mentioned resources will be
- removed from WF client and the client will have fresh data tables having only
- default items.
- * execution id while creating RC items are the Reporting server credentials-->
- ( username /pwd: srvadmin/srvadmin if server is XFOXUS)
- other reporting server (non-xfocus) : Machine credentials (e.g: bigscm/orion1)
- Recreating repository tables:
- drop create table:
- 1. Domain tree folders and fexs( public will not be dropped)
- 2. protals tree context
- 3. all users( new user, not default one)
- 4. all group( new group, not default one)
- 5. Roles(not default role)
- 6. Rules on resources
- Goto: \\expwin7-01\d$\ibi\ WebFoCUS82\utilities\WFReposUtil\
- WFReposUtilCMDLine.bat

- To drop: select drop
- 1. Give Repository Credentials
- 2. enter drop. All the data will be droped
- 3. Find the drop details in WFReposUtilCMDLine.log(both
- windows and unix)
- To recreate: Select create_ insert
- 1.Give Repository Credential
- 2.Find the create insert details in WFReposUtilCMDLine.log(for
- windows) and load_repos.log (for unix)
- NOTE: Restart app server whenever you recreate repos tables--> Because
- security/groups tree will not be refreshed immediately.
- Then go to WebfOCUS page – Check the defaults
- default domain is created (public).
- Check default groups (Administrators, Managers/Developers, Anonymous,
- Everyone, Self service Developers)
- Check default users (admin,public, wfdesktop)
- Steps to Deploy appserver for windows:
- 1.Stop appserver from services.
- 2. Goto installed drive: D:ibi\tomcat\work\catalina\localhost\
- 3.Select all folders-> ctrl+A delete all the items + close
- 4. Start appserver from services.
- How to take derby database backup:
- Copy derby database content from one environment to another enviroment.

- Steps:
- goto services.msc
- stop derby
- goto start → (ex. Bigscm104 → D:\ibi\derby\WebFOCUS82 → copy
- the WebFOCUS82 folder and rename it.
- Paste it to another enviroment(ex.expwin7-01 → D:\ibi\derby\ paste it
- WebFOCUS82 renamed folder)
