survival gear

I had on three layers of merino beneath a gore-tex shell, gloves, and balaclava, all in winter flecktarn. My backpack held three days worth of dry food, a 2L vacuum flask of water, two lighters, a flint, multi-tool, hunting knife, a thermal blanket, a set of dry clothing, and a film canister of cotton balls dipped in vaseline which had saved my life the last time I’d tried this.
