- Lyra is home to multiple r aces. Due to a long history of magic having been interwoven into daily life and most species being less populous, yet more magically inclined than humans, oppression wasn't a problem, and it didn't become one with the Authority. One thing that it can pride itself in after all, is the fact that everyone is afforded an opportunity, regardless of race, gender or origin.
- This, of course, excludes outlaws and former outlaws.

- Humans.
- Fairly straightforward. Humans are the most populous Race of Lyra. They function exactly like how you'd expect them to, with a small change. In Lyra, living beings are permeated by a barely understood field of life energy. It has been researched, but unfortunately not much progress has been made on it.
- Certain practices can draw upon it, to achieve what most normal humans can't, even if said achievement is admittedly limited.

- Lizardmen.
- The original lizardmen were the descendants of dragons who were rare and few even in the age of magic. Lizardmen are humanoid, with dark skin and eyes in varying shades of red, yellow or orange. Small amounts of scales along the arms or legs, as well as around the lower portions of one's face.
- They are largely found in Velara, however Yesh and Syl lizardmen are not uncommon.

- Islanders.
- The inhabitants of the four islands to the north of the the main continent. They mostly exist as small clans, centered around walled off keeps and cities, which constantly war with one another. The air around the islands and even the water is overcharged with life energy. Natives to the islands, as a result tend to have extremely long lifespans. They possess peerless strength, eyesight and endurance.
- However, foreigners are told to refrain from spending too much time in the islands, lacking the proper genetics the sudden intake of life energy causes them to suffer physically.
