  1. It was a quiet night, a jarring feeling after a days worth of hectic and desperate fighting, it was hard to imagine things would ever get quiet when just a few hours before the world around you sang with the song of blood and war.
  2.
  3. But such was the way of life and that was all he would ever know.
  4.
  5. As the one known as Hassan of the Cursed arm perched on an outcropping of rock he spared a glance downwards, upon the odd group that had come to aid them, bantering and feasting with people. The ones known as Chaldeans, a powerful group who's help had been invaluable in the fight against the Lion King, who sought to destroy his people for a reason he could not fathom.
  6.
  7. They were powerful allies, although it seemed as if they were limited ones, despite being able to call powerful warriors from somewhere, they could only summon a handful of warriors at once.
  8.
  9. Though fortunately this did not seem like much of a detriment to them, as they had so far managed to overcome various enemies that had come their way. Perhaps it was a testament to the strength of their warriors or the quick and flexible mind of the Chaldean Master, but Cursed arm could not help but think that the oddly powerful items that some of them carried were to thank for their victories.
  10.
  11. When he inquired about said items; the Chaldean Master called them 'Craft essences'. They were weapons, books and even crystallized memories, things that all radiated a different sort of power that seemed to meld with the warriors of Chaldea and empowered them but somehow remained separate from their very essences.
  12.
  13. It was interesting to say the least, to know that something that allowed one to be stronger with little repercussion or loss.
  14.
  15. Cursed arm allowed himself to glance briefly at the arm he'd sacrifice to Shytan before shaking himself from his thoughts and stupor.
  16.
  17. There was no point in wallowing about this, there was no point in being jealous. He had to make do with what he had and carry out his duties to the best of his abilities.
  18.
  19. No matter what the cost.
