  1. [18:16] Seifer brings the woman in a location she knew for sure, inviting her to take a seat before seating himself. A large book is drawn from his person, set atop the table in all of its disfigured glory. Who would take notes in a regular book? With a push of his glasses and a few words the boy begins.
  2.
  3. "Now, then, thank you for giving me some for your time. It should not be too long; I only have a few questions to ask. The first is as follows:
  4.
  5. What do you believe power to be? How would you define it?"
  6. (Seifer Gardios)
  7. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  8.
  9. [18:22] Geztelle followed alongside Seifer quietly, before coming into one of the all too familiar rooms of the chapel. The attendants and those passing by no doubt offering respects to the woman, as she took a seat at the wooden table.
  10.
  11. The question posed was a curious one, especially directed towards the woman who was known to avoid fighting at all cost.
  12.
  13. "I believe that power.. true power, anyways, is found in ones will and sense of self. The ability to stare your enemies in the eye and not relent, no matter the circumstances."
  14.
  15. It was something she had done time and time again. If there was one thing that could be said about the woman, it was that she was quite stubborn.
  16.
  17. "Not losing sight of who you are, and sticking to your ideals and values. This all amounts to much more than anything one can do on the battlefield. It doesn't matter how tough you are if you bend easily and flip on the dime, because at that point you have no character."
  18. (Geztelle ven Pelleaux)
  19. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  20.
  21. [18:28] Taking a few notes down into his book the young teenager remained silent. The woman's way to view the world was begining to take shape and a response like this one was no surprise of the one who seemed to put a greater value in remaining herself over seizing the moment before her eyes.
  22.
  23. Was it right? Was it wrong? It was not the boy's place to judge; wisdom could be drawn from every corner of the world, yet it only came to those who listened.
  24.
  25. "Interesting. It is similar to Rhesus' own answer, yet different." He stated, deciding not to divulge the part where the ex and new Stellus differed.
  26.
  27. "My second question is a tad more complicated. As one of the people who's ability to mend rose to the status of legend I believe you will understand it best.
  28.
  29. With each abuse of power, each tear in reality, and each wounded heart the physical world as we know it finds itself hurt. Irregularities and dreadful darkness spreads upon Esshar as it finds itself consumed by war.
  30.
  31. If you had the power to do so, how would you go about mending the world? What would be your method to heal it?"
  32. (Seifer Gardios)
  33. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  34.
  35. [18:34] "When I was younger I used to believe in youthful idealism, yet it was nothing but naivete in every sense of the word. I've come to realize that so long as people exist, so long as free will exists, darkness will always linger in the hearts of man."
  36.
  37. The question itself was loaded, and yet she felt she couldn't properly answer it, because the very notion itself was an impossibility.
  38.
  39. "Generation after generation things have remained stagnant. The light has fought to vanquish the darkness, whilst the darkness works to overwhelm the night and snuff it out."
  40.
  41. "The only way to get past the flame is through, and to that end we can only march forward."
  42.
  43. Even if it was impossible, there were stills they could do to mitigate the damages.
  44.
  45. "I believe mister Athelir has the right idea. In order to produce change, we must first nurture the minds of the next generation, in hope that they will not repeat the mistakes of their predecessors."
  46.
  47. "As for cleansing itself? I do not believe a mass cleansing will be possible until the darkness has been rooted out fully, as it would be like trying to mop up the sidewalk during a downpour."
  48.
  49. Even if you soaked up a puddle, another one or two would replace it.
  50. (Geztelle ven Pelleaux)
  51. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  52.
  53. [18:40] Seifer seemed to be far more impressed with the woman's response that he had first anticipated. It spoke not of healing the world or any method to make it work, no. Much like the rest of the people he'd questioned there was no clear way to mend the damage. Some suggested brutality. Others suggested diplomacy, and this one? She suggested to hope in the future's ability to overturn the darkness.
  54.
  55. It seemed to leave the young one pondering rather than writing for a while, eventually finding the will to jut down a few things.
  56.
  57. A hand moved up to re-adjust his glasses as the fateful moment came.
  58.
  59. "I.. believe I only have one more question for the evening. My final query is as such:
  60.
  61. Do you believe that a balance between light and darkness is necessary?"
  62. (Seifer Gardios)
  63. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  64.
  65. [18:40] * You have been awarded 3 Roleplay Points! *
  66. [18:46] "I believe that the concept of darkness balancing out light in itself is a fallacy. Darkness is an imperfection, a disturbance to the balance itself."
  67.
  68. Perhaps it was an extreme perspective, believing that a world wherein the light held firm was optimal.
  69.
  70. "I do not believe that the existence of darkness and corruption is a necessity, but rather a mistake which proves near impossible to rectify. As I said, we can only look to those who come next to make true progress."
  71.
  72. Be it through war, technological progress, or otherwise- something had to shift eventually.
  73.
  74. "So ultimately, my answer to your question is no. Darkness exists as an imperfection and blight to balance, which is ultimately the light itself."
  75. (Geztelle ven Pelleaux)
  76. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  77.
  78. [18:48] A few more notes were taken down on the subject, leaving Seifer to grant the woman a pleasant smile. Nothing too wide, nothing too small. A nod is brought with a few words.
  79.
  80. "Thank you for your time. Is there anything I can do for you?"
  81.
  82. As she had done enough for him for the evening.
  83. (Seifer Gardios)
  84. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  85.
  86. [18:49] Geztelle ven Pelleaux says, "I don't believe so. Happy to assist."
  87. [18:50] Seifer Gardios exclaims, "Alright...!"
  88. [18:51] Seifer Gardios says, "I'll escort you outside."
  89. [18:51] Geztelle ven Pelleaux says, "Very well."
  90. [18:52] Seifer returns with the aging woman, turning around to face her with a few final words.
  91.
  92. "Thank you again. You were a big help."
  93. (Seifer Gardios)
  94. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  95.
  96. [18:52] Geztelle ven Pelleaux says, "Of course! Do be safe now."
