  63. Bio:
  64.
  65. Nuallán was born to a family of glories past, the owner of a Gallian estate that had seen better days. While the Beaumont name had once been synonym with power and respect in the Tatalian frontier neighboring the Sisters' Thrones, its fortunes had changed years ago. The then patriarch aggressively jockeyed for influence in the royal court by investing much of the family's wealth into Gallia's many military campaigns against its neighbors. Unfortunately the patriarch was more ambitious than he was a tactician, and the Beaumont lost much of their means and part of their land as a result of courtly intrigue mixed with a stunning lack of competency that resulted in their frontier territory getting raided.
  66.
  67. While impoverished, the family still had their land, their people, and a burning thirst for revenge to keep them afloat. The dire situation meant the family not only watched the common folk more closely, but took more care of them to ensure they would stay and flourish. The production of cheese in the Sisters' Thrones's caves, leather and furs from wild beasts and wine in the vineyard around the mansion, originally destined nearly exclusively for the family, was ramped up by the disgraced patriarch's wife. Both commoners and traders received access to these luxury goods, a good part of which found its way to Tatalia, where the estate's production gained some recognition. Which was just as well; the family had been so slighted by the court as to prefer selling their fancy products to another nation.
  68.
  69. Nuallán grew healthy and happy, a playful if stubborn firstborn. As the heir of the family, he was taught etiquette, manners and management, and was sent on trips to Tatalia to acquaint himself with their best customer. He was the child who took the longest to decide on a weapon to dedicate himself to, as well as the one whose choice surprised his parents. While his siblings began fencing or picked up magic, Nuallán was the odd one out; he fell in love with the bow. Its range, power and elegance captivated him, but perhaps the most important factor was its usefulness when hunting. He'd acquired a taste for bagging game from an early age, and the bow and arrow were the perfect match for his hobby.
  70.
  71. It soon became clear that Nuallán was both confident in his archery as well as quite patient, which stood in stark contrast with his fiery siblings. While he wasn't as good a shot as the gamekeepers and abhorred traipsing around in the dirt and mud, he was a skilled rider and falconer. Nuallán's family embraced his choice of weapon only when he managed to outshoot the proud heir of a rival family during a gathering the Beaumont had only begrudgingly attended.
  72.
  73. Unfortunately, his newfound joy was ruined by local disturbances: the chaotic state of the continent meant bandits and refugees began to flood many areas, and with the arrival of hungry people and bandits at the borders so did problems with the supply of game. While Nuallán didn't much care for the unwashed masses, he felt a lot more passionately about ruffians, specially the ones who harassed refugees and consequently drove them even further way from home—and into his designated hunting areas!
  74.
  75. And so Nuallán began going for small patrols on top of his usual trips to the neighboring countries. While you could call that a heart full of justice, it's likely more accurate to say Nuallán's passion for hunting ended up causing him to take up a noble cause—so his hunting grounds would stay clean and his life fulfilling.
  76.
  77. Details: Nuallán is tall, thin, athletic, and quite obviously smug. His hunting hobby means he's used to long hours riding, handling birds of prey and running away—from ferocious critters when things go pear-shaped, even if he refuses to admit it has ever happened. So used to eating and drinking well Nuallán is, he's likely to have some fine food from back home hidden in his quarters or travel pack. He's able to cook, though the small portions he makes are destined for his own plate, and thanks to his high-maintenance palate he's only used to fine ingredients.
  78.
  79. While he is haughty and confident, Nuallán doesn't belittle the lowborn too much. His family's past means they created a bond with their servants that's closer than normal for noble families. With their survival having depended on the talents and efforts of everyone available, he evaluates someone's utility and skills (or lack thereof) over their birth. Though he still occasionally calls the peasantry peasants due to it being the appropriate term as far as he knows, his hostility is directed mostly at the his family's rivals in the Gallian court.
