background:
  ☽ zehn mingxia wasn't always born zehn mingxia, though that is something on her list of things she will never know. mingxia had never met her birth parents. her origin story is of one you'd usually encounter in those superhero stories. her adoptive mother told her that she was dropped off on the family's doorstep when she was a baby, with no sign of whoever had done it. that was all her mother had told her. even if mingxia felt like it wasn't the complete story, she decided not to let herself be bothered by it that much. overall, she got along well with her family and it was like her past never existed at all. growing up, mingxia had always felt like there was something different about herself. at then finally, at the ripe age of 5, her confusion was answered. though the term "wizard" was foreign to her then, mingxia knew that she wasn't mundane. she discovered her powers on a random day when she somehow levitated her mother's favorite mug and dropped it on the floor. she didn't tell her parents about it because it's, well, weird, and she didn't want them to think she was some kind of freak. mingxia was just afraid they were going to kick her out or something. because no one else in the household showed signs of odd abilities, mingxia had very little education regarding magic. she grew up hiding them from her family, coming up with reasons that masked her abilities. it was no wonder just how much of a great liar she is now. she practically grew up lying. often that she didn't know how to control her abilities but thank god it never went overboard. her family only found out when she received the letter, and that was only because she had no other choice. her parents were too dumbfounded to give a proper reaction. in the end, they were okay with it, albeit a little (a lot) mindfucked, but okay with it.

  ☽  when she first arrived at hogwarts, mingxia was nothing but confused. it was a whole other world. she didn't know anything or anyone, and was a bit lost (and scared). she didn't the reputation slytherin had so she didn't really react that much when she sorted into the house (unlike everyone else). it took a while for her to get used to everything, but she quickly adjusted to her new life. mingxia quickly felt like she was finally where she belonged.

   ☽  mingxia is as sweet as candy. she's made up of quirks that makes her odd, but in a good way of course.  mingxia has acceptable grades and is not exactly dumb (though she's not the brightest person out there), but most people would be surprised at how smart she is. this girl knows how to twists her way around people to get what she wants. yes, she's that charming. she knows how to smooth her words with people, no matter who. some would she's kind of entrancing. add to the fact that she's quite easy on the eyes, too. mingxia's luck when it comes to guys is to be envied because she's somehow always stuck in a drama worthy situation. it's not even on purpose. her encounters with (quite attractive) guys has always been downright teeth rotting and cliche.

she can pull off the greatest poker face ever. a lot of people actually trust her because they never know when and if she's lying. she often hides things, too, including her emotions. mingxia is someone who doesn't like it if people can see her weakness. if someone even confronts her and asks if something's wrong, she'd just change the subject, smile that cunning but sweet smile of hers and make sure the topic is averted. what's weird is that mingxia is a teacher's favorite. her grades aren't excellent, but she stays under the radar and doesn't get herself in trouble (or doesn't get caught). or maybe it's because she sucks up to them a lot in the hopes of being on their good side. this girl is very sneaky and discrete. she knows her away around campus and knows how to sneak out and back in without getting caught. she does it because she's bored rather than actually having a specific motive. mingxia likes to take refuge in the kitchen (she's always in the mood for a late night snack) or the library (surprising, huh?), because no one's ever at the library past midnight. regardless of her personality, no one actually hates her, nor do they act like she's the plague. it's just that not many can crack her code (read: make her soft). do exactly that and you'd find just how loyal and caring she is deep down. she's more chill around the people she's close with, and a lot more outspoken and sarcastic, too. she's a bit hard to please and picky when it comes to friends. overall, she's just a sweet looking girl with not so sweet intentions. but oddly enough, guys seem to like that. mingxia has had her fair share of boy trying to hit her up, but she's not once taken any of them seriously. she's not interested in anything near commitment right now, all she wants is a little fun and mischief. but mingxia is still a teenage girl and a little eye candy is bound to make her weak in the knees once in a while.

how they act in school: mingxia acts true to her persona. she doesn't believe in putting up a facade just to please people.  however, whenever she's trying to get something that she wants, she tends to act differently. i guess you can say that she's a bit two-faced? her looks make her approachable, but not many people stick around because she tends to be dismissive and very picky of the people she befriends. she's nice, though, for a slytherin, just not nice enough to put up with everyone. people know that she's not someone you'd want to mess with. she hides the fact that she's muggle-raised in fear of getting teased.

pet: southern white-faced owl she named snitch.
     treats like her own best friend (is actually her best friend, if we're being honest here).

wand: made of boxwood and has a core of sphinx hair. 8 and 3/4 inches long and dark colored. the wand only answers fully and properly to mingxia. it'll still work if someone else uses it, but like her, it's rather manipulative. instead of casting the wanted spell by the caster, the wand does a few twists and ends up casting a spell that contradicts the caster's preferred spell. if you're not mingxia, then you'd be fooled by a magical stick.

animagus: raven. this form comes in handy whenever she wants to flee or sneak away. she prefers this because she's clumsy on the broomstick.

patronus: mingxia's patronus is the snow leopard. snow leopard people tend to be introverted, quiet, observant, and independent. they tend to live partly in their own world, calmly perched above the small things that can easily consume day to day life. mingxia thinks about the time she first discovered her powers as a wizard. it was scary and confusing, sure, but the adrenaline and excitement were worth all the fear. even if she would never admit it, the fact that her parents dropped her off on a stranger's doorstep wounded her. knowing that she was capable of such things made her feel special.

how you meet: they meet late at night when mingxia is, as usual, sneaking out of her room just because she want to. she's walking around campus and then she finds herself outside, more specifically by the quidditch field. mingxia spots a figure flying around and jumps to conclusions. she assumes that it's a foe and goes all [insert spell that makes people off balance here lmao]. long story short, the figure flying around wasn't a foe, but a boy who shouldn't be laughing after she blasted him off his broomstick making him fall on his ass. but yes, he was laughing, too high on the adrenaline mingxia supposed. all she was thinking was "who the fuck flies around the quidditch field in the middle of the night?", but all he did was smile up at her as he lied on the grass and proceeded to ramble about how fun that was and if he could do it again.

    ☽  vibrant. all over the place. odd. mingxia has never known anyone as happy and bubbly as he is. they met late at night and yet he still acts as if it's noon. she was convinced that he's on drugs and honestly wouldn't be surprised if he is. the hallways were dark when she ran into him so she couldn't really see inspect his features clearly. he says the most random shit ever when they first met. mingxia labels him as dumb, but she supposes that he's quite... adorable. like a bunny. and it's hard for her to admit it because she doesn't normally find things adorable.

   ☽  looking at her features, he'd never thought that she was in slytherin if it weren't for the fact that he knew who she was. only briefly, though. in his eyes, mingxia is some sort of enigma. she's quiet, but not passive or actually silent, just says little but apparently does a lot (he knows how she makes sure she always gets her way). she looks harmless, but there's something about her eyes that makes him wary. makes him feel like he's better off. but of course, that's not what he does. she knew the kind of reputation slytherins have, but he didn't care. he's taken a slight interest towards the slytherin girl and to him, she looked like someone who could use a little company from time to time. (and of course, he wanted to be that company).


how you act around him: mingxia is overwhelmed by his presence. he's too happy that sometimes she thinks he's on crack. she's more or less confused whenever the boy is around. she didn't know if she should pepper spray him or like, put him on a leash. mingxia tries her best to not give him too much attention at first because, fuck, he is a handful. since the boy won't leave her alone, she even tries to shamefully use him to help with her grades, but that's useless because he's doing waayyyyy worse than she is. so that's out of the question. she would roll her eyes whenever he tries to crack a lame pun. sighs whenever he follows her like a puppy. it was annoying at first, but mingxia quickly learned to live with it. but she does warm up to him after a while. she finds herself not wanting him to leave her side and smiling at his jokes more often, no matter how cringeworthy they are. even lets him call her ming, that hideous nickname he has for her. she's kind of surprised that he's stuck around this long even with her always dismissing him. that alone makes mingxia more grateful for his presence. and maybe she starts liking it whenever he ruffles her hair, or puts his arm around her, or pinches her cheeks. mingxia starts noticing whenever he acts up and gets kind of verbally agressive if he doesn't tell her what's wrong. mingxia just likes him a little too much, and she hates herself for it.

how he acts around you: boy, he is a  goofball. though he is still his usual happy self, he was a bit careful around her at first. his wanted to befriend her a lot, but it didn't help that sometimes she looked like she wanted to poke his eyeball out (her resting bitchface is cute though). the others would call him pathetic and stupid for even trying but taehyung honestly didn't care!!!!! he just wanted to be her friend. whenever he ran into her in the hallways, he would always make a big show of yelling out her name and making sure everyone heard, and then proceeds to follow her around until she's pissed enough. he likes to pinch her cheeks, ruffle her hair, is downright clingy to be honest. he's not nervous around her even if people say that he should be because, yanno, slytherin and all. as cliche as it sounds, it's just something about her that makes him do even more stupid things. and of course, he makes sure to boast about his awesome and successful pranks. his fondness for her grows as the days goes by and this is where it gets frustrating. he actually gets flustered whenever she's around now, suddenly so self-conscious and scared that he's going to make a fool of himself. he starts looking for her during school hours, makes excuses just so he can see her, looks at her from afar. he tones down the skinship because even the slightest touch is enough to make his stomach do backflips. he's never felt something like this before and it kind of gives him a hard time.
