Room Barter Ad

Looking for help with cooking breakfast and lunches and keeping the kitchen clean. My husband and I live on Anastasia Island with our 8 month old baby. He works very long hours, and I don’t have time to both cook full all-organic meals the way I like to, and tend to the baby - and I’d rather have household help then a babysitter. We live right on the ocean and have a room available downstairs, hoping to find a college student or a freelancer with flexible hours who would like to trade 4h/day household help during the weekdays, in exchange for room (utilities included). Might be a convenient bartering situation, as you don’t have to drive anywhere for the job.

The bedroom is downstairs and it has its own private bathroom w a shower, but there is a garage being used as storage room attached to it that I have to access a few times a week, and the entrance is through the room only. The windows are pretty small, but it’s a direct ocean view. The room is fully furnished and it has its own small fridge and microwave. The upstairs area is where the kitchen is, and it’s available for your use all day but would be off limits after 7pm for everyone’s privacy. Gigabit high-speed WiFi is included.

No overnight guests, no pets, no couples. But if you happen to be a single parent w a baby around the same age as ours, it may work out - they could be play buddies and we could eventually babysit for each other sometimes. We are very natural minded, so if you are interested in this position we would please ask you don’t use harsh cleaners in any common areas and any stuff like bug foggers or any chemically laden aerosols indoors.

You would be cooking breakfast and lunch for my husband and I, and doing dishes, putting them away and keeping the kitchen area clean. It can all be prepared in the morning and refrigerated if necessary, you don’t actually have to be here at lunch time.
