[Satyr] Hope's Nightmare

>Day Sharing the bed in Equestria.
>A loud creak causes you to break away from your sleep.
>Barely oriented, you look to the door and hear a couple knocks.
“Guh, Hope?”
>A small whimper is all you get.
>Lyra mummers and shifts, still asleep.
>More knocks follow.
“Hope, honey, is that you?”
>”U-Uh huh...”
>Lyra smacks her lips, joining the two of you.
>”What's going on?...”
“Hope's at the door.”
>Now fully awake, you stand and walk to your door.
>Your daughter is there, clutching her pillow tightly as small tears fall down her cheeks.
>”I had a nightmare... can I sleep with you and mom tonight?”
>Rubbing your eyes, you nod and lead the little satyr inside.
>Your wife lifts herself to sit up as Hope's hooves clip clop across the room in the dark.
>She makes room for the scared girl, patting between your and her spots.
>Once Hope slides under your blankets, you slide back into bed, hand wrapped around your pillow as you look at the back of her head.
“You know, my father used to have an old saying. If you tell someone your nightmare, it doesn't come true.”
>Lyra is still sitting up, eyes upon Hope.
>The satyr is reluctant at first, but she nod and sits up with her mother.
>”Mom, dad, you would never leave me right?”
>Concerned, you sit up with and place a hand on your head.
“Never.”
>”Why, did you dream we left the house?”
>Hope sniffles and pushes her head into her mother's lap.
>”I-I dreamt that you and dad were going for a walk. I followed and when I caught up, dad walked back home.”
>Scratching the back of your head, you look to your daughter.
“I walked back here without you two?”
>She shakes her head and looks up to you.
>”No. Your home home. Your real home, on Earth.”
>Hugging the little girl, you place a hand on the back of her head.
“This is my real home, with you and mom.”
>She hugs back, crying more openly.
>”T-Then, when I tried to follow, I couldn't. I didn't know where you went. I-I wanted to go back to mom, but she was gone too. All of Ponyville was gone! I-I was all alone in the middle of the road. I got scared and started to cry. T-Then I woke up and walked over here.”
>Lyra pecks Hope on the head, hoof stroking her cheek.
>”Well it was just a nightmare, right? You know that your dad and I would never ever leave you. We would always find you.”
>Nodding, you place a peck on her head as well.
“Besides, if I did find a way back to Earth, I would make sure you and your mom could follow. My home is here with you two, but I would love to show you Earth if I could. Especially all the movies and shows. You'd love them Hope.”
>The little girl hics a few times before smiling.
>”Promise?”
“Promise what?”
>She squirms off of Lyra's lap and back between you two, laying flat on her back with the sheets pulled up to her neck.
>”Promise that you won't ever go visit Earth without us.”
>Running a hand over her forehead, you lay down as well.
“I promise. Never ever without you two.”
>Lyra smiles before sliding down as well, placing a hoof over Hope's chest.
>Looking your wife in the eyes, you place your hand atop her hoof, holding Hope between you two.
>”Now it's time for bed. Dad has work in the morning and you have school young lady.”
>”Okay mom. I love you.”
>”I love you too, Hope.”
>The two girls close their eyes.
>After a brief moment, you whisper to both of them.
“And I love both of you.”
>Lyra giggles, her hoof planted firmly in your hand.
>Hope smiles and turns to you, cuddling up to you as she falls asleep.
>Her mother soon joins her, leaving you in the awkward position that your family's love has created.
>You wouldn't break it for the world.
