- Frisk's reverie was abruptly interrupted and flung into the harsh glare of reality as the patrol car he was sitting in came to a sudden stop. Looking around, Frisk clutched his sides as he felt his stomach drop below his knees. He'd recognized this street anywhere. "Rg02, this isn't.. why are we.. here?" Silently, the Giant armour clad monster got out of the vehicle and motioned for Frisk to follow. Setting just behind the neat row of houses lining the street with neat gardens and well trimmed hedges, the sun outlined them, throwing shadows onto the street submerging Frisk and Rg02 as they stepped out of the car. Frisk Shivered. The Houses seemed to vibrate with malice and ill intent. The former royal guard towered over Frisk, a Stiff slab of granite yet to be chiseled into a statue. "Sir, I brought you here because they... *ahem. Because you should see the scene of the.. crime that was committed last night. We wondered if you could help" Frisk stood back from the guard, his jaw hanging loose. "Wh.. I thought I was a suspect! You can't let a suspect look at the crime scene! This will look all sorts of wrong." Rg02's silence cut the air, his grim stare penetrating Frisk. Tiny little beads shone through his pitch black visor, peering deep into Frisk with a dark intensity. "I know it's not the standard procedure, ambassador, but I really think you should see the. .scene. Follow me." Stomping through the well kept posies leaving huge monstrous footprints, Frisk couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor foliage.
- Hesitating, Frisk moved to the front door of the neat little house slowly, treading lightly over the remaining flowers left in rg02's wake. White washed with tiny flecks of the wooden door underneath showing through the grain, it didn't seem well kept compared to the rest of the house. A golden knocker in the shape of a.. heart adorned it, limply hanging on by a wire, dangling. Someone had tried to rip it off. Pushing the door Swung open easy enough for Rg02. No creaks or argument from the portal of entry here. Peering in Frisk was hit by the smell first, even standing behind the guard. Retching into the magnolia bush under the arched windows frisk emptied the meagre morning contents of his stomach. The burning feeling in the back of his throat making him following him as he braved walking further into the darkened house. The emptiness seemed to stretch inwards and out at the same time, stretching Frisk's perception to its limits. The morning light outside filtered through half closed curtains at the top of the stairs in the hallway, bouncing off the mirror at the door and magnifying the darkest spots in the narrow entrance way throwing shadows into a frenzy of different shades, hiding reality from Frisk. Rg02 must've sensed Frisk's unease building up behind him. Reaching over he flicked a switch and light filled the long thin hallway, clearing the abyssal darkness only to replace it with a nightmarish hellscape.
- The world burst into colour. Mostly.. red. Splashed across the walls and floor, 3 toed footprints tracking through puddles of congealing liquid from the room ahead. Rg02 gingerly stepped over the scarlet marks streaking through the thin long hall and headed for what must be the living area. Pictures of Dana's colleagues at SAVE adorned the wall, cracked and covered in sanguine tones. A small desk, lying next to the stairs had a set of keys and a small clutch bag, wide open, it's contents adorning the floor below. So she hadn't even had time to run, Frisk thought. Lipstick, a smaller purse, some tissues, now soaked deep red and a small flip phone seemed like all of Dana's worldly goods. Something caught Frisk's eyes as he moved further inwards, sitting against the skirting underneath the walls. A small long pink thing Covered in ochre viscous fluids, the clear bit near the base against the floor had a white mark surrounding it. Tipping the end was a sharp, well manicured nail. shining in the dull hallway light.
- Flashes of memories assaulted Frisk. A blonde haired, sharp eyed woman with thin lines running across her lips vertically, red lipstick glistening in the morning sunlight and a stock bag at her feet. A sharp suit-top, navy blue and a short skirt that ended far too soon for Frisk's liking. Tights, a dull brown stretched thickly over vein lined legs. In her hand was a flip phone she was methodically tapping, the clicks making their own tiny melody. Bleep. Bleep. Long fingers ending in perfectly manicured nails glistened as they moved back and forth from the buttons on the phone. A heart shaped ring, Red in colour, imbued with a rainbow hue sat on her ring finger flickering with a multitude of mesmerizing colours. Feeling something large and rough tap his shoulder brought Frisk crashing back to the present. "Sir? I know this is not pleasant but.. the location of the.. murder. Is further inside." Frisk stuck his shaking hands in his pockets and turned to follow Rg02, carefully stepping over the residue on the floor.
- "This, is the.. end point. Sir." Rg02 stepped to the side as Frisk entered what must be the living space. Colour drained from Frisk's face. The room was a simple square shape, a wooden floor with some plain rugs next to the fireplace and underneath a centerpiece table. A sofa and chair were lined up against the wall, facing the TV above the fireplace. Covering the entire room was a red fluid. Some was dripping from the ceiling, frighteningly close to where Frisk was standing Pooled into a neat pile on the floor was a bunch of strange shaped oddities. Some scraps of red drenched clothing spun in lazy circles in puddles of dark liquid covering the majority of the wooden paneled flooring. "Wh.. this is.." Frisk was shaking, tears beading at the corners of his eyes. Reeling, Frisk could only take in so much. Even though his brain was trying to comprehend the mess of reds and browns staining the whole room he already knew, deep down what it was. The floorboards creaked underfoot, almost laughing at the carnage that Frisk was looking at, mocking him for staring so long at the remains of someone Frisk had fought with for years. She was a terrible person, Frisk thought to himself but no body deserved.. this. Frisk knew that for fact.
- Footprints lead from the.. remains of Dana circled around the room. Marks being dragged along the walls forming a crude symbol. Text was embellished into the ceiling above the scene. "HE'S MINE". Frisk shivered looking at those words. It couldn't be. It simply couldn't, Frisk thought fervently.
- "I.. we can't stay in here, rg02. Is there another room that's.." Cutting him off with a quick shake of his overly ornamented head, the guard was struggling to keep calm. " The rest of the rooms are.. Not in good shape. Let's go back to the car." Frisks legs wouldn't move. Trembling, he had to force himself, one step at a time to head for the exit. Passing the mirror in the hallway Frisk glanced into it. A small voice in the back of his head whispering as he saw the shivering pupils dance in his eye sockets mocking him. "It's still you, Frisk!" Echoing in his head he pushed on.
- The fresh late morning air slammed into him, blowing his hair back and forth in front of his eyes until he moved it aside, tucking it behind his ears without thinking. Noticing the spots of red sitting on the back of his hand, Frisk grunted. Stifling a curse he grabbed his hand and held it down, trying to stop it from shaking uncontrollably as he loosed the ring from his finger. Slipping it into his pockets, Frisk made his way to the car and got in beside the silent reptilian monster. The silence was deafening. Both men knew they had to speak up but the macabre scenery from that charnel house played out in their heads. Over and over. Rg02 was the one to break the silence first, raising his meaty green fist and lifting his hat off he wrung it, twisting it in his comically large fingers. "Sir, As i'm sure you noticed.. there was no soul at the scene...." Frisks hand moved to grab the bridge above his nose until he realised what was on it. Sighing he stared out the window at the empty house straddling a pretty well kept garden with pretty posies and other flowers.
- "This is the worst case scenario. I have no idea how we can survive this. Other than covering it up.. no, I don't think that'll end well." Wait. Realisation punched into Frisk's brain as he surveyed the scenery. There was no police presence guarding the house. No tape, no guards, nothing. Inside he'd seen no sorts of police interference in the crime scene or any signs of disturbance sitting outside Frisk had to know. "Rg02.. why.." On cue the Guard replied. "You know why, sir." Sure enough, Frisk had an idea on the situation. It was simple. "You're already covering it all up. An official investigation hasn't even started. Rg02, how is your department managing to hide this?" Shifting uncomfortably in his taut uniform, Rg02 was probably sweating underneath it. "We had some.. help." A pit formed in the bottom of Frisk's core. Help. That word carried some weight behind it. Hesitation.
- "Who, Rg02. Who on earth could cover up something as.. horrible as that thing in there?" Rg02 gulping heavily looked down at Frisk. His eyes were blank, the outline of his jaw quivered as he spoke. "It's not just one person, sir. It's them. They're helping us." Frisks' jaw nearly unhinged from his face, dangling there like a loose noodle. It couldn't be who he thought it was. They'd done nothing to help or hinder monsters before so why now.
- "There was a price to pay, sir. I'm so sorry. This was a part of it". The guard moved faster than Frisk thought possible. His meaty hands clamping over Frisks delicate in comparison head, fingers curling around and cutting air from his face. Squeezing hard Frisk screamed, but only a muffled squeak emerged from the confines of his hand shaped prison. His only option was to reset before it was too late but Rg02 was too fast and nailed him in the guts, with his other fist, forcing the remaining air out of Frisk in a whooshing explosion.
- Blackness consumed Frisk, sinking him into a deep numbing darkness.
- One word surfaced to his lips as he fell.
- "Asriel"
