- Kora shoots again, and maybe that’s the last straw. The electricity doesn’t seem to do the creatures any permanent damage, but it hurts and disconcerts them, and that’s enough. The thing moves, so fast my eyes can barely follow, and backhands her against the nearest wall with one curved, claw-like hand. She screams before her back hits the metal strut, hard enough to dent it, and then she falls, motionless, to the floor.
