  1.
  2. [20:49] Lea Elisheva exclaims, "Yay!"
  3. [20:49] Lea Elisheva exclaims, "I guess we can be order buddies after all!!!!!"
  4. [20:49] Caira Vindict says, ". . ."
  5. [20:49] Caira shudders in uncool.
  6. (Caira Vindict)
  7. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  8.
  9. [20:49] Caira Vindict says, "Yeah, Order.. Buddies."
  10. [20:51] Lea Elisheva says, "Hehehehe..."
  11. [20:52] Lea Elisheva asks, "When do you wanna start?"
  12. [20:53] Caira Vindict asks, "When are you free, Lea?"
  13. [20:54] Lea Elisheva says, "I'm free most of the time."
  14. [20:55] Caira Vindict asks, "Do you want to start right now?"
  15. [20:55] Lea Elisheva says, "Sure, assuming I don't walk outside and see something awful going on."
  16. [20:56] Caira Vindict says, ".. Let's... Take a gander."
  17. [21:01] Lea made her way to the beach. This is the spot where she truly learned of Order magic, making it both a good place to demonstrate and one of great sentimental value for her.
  18.
  19. "What do you know so far? I dunno how much ground I'll have to cover."
  20.
  21. To demonstrate that she did in fact have knowledge of the Arcane, Lea rose her left hand and tugged at the metaphorical(?) golden strings, causing the water to rise up and dance around. Her mana didn't shift the slightest, showing that this was indeed something beyond mere water magic.
  22.
  23. It was created from a harmonization with the world itself.
  24. (Lea Elisheva)
  25. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  26.
  27. [21:14] Caira takes in a deep breath and sits herself down on the beach. She flicks her wrist outwards and two small, marble pads manifest and promptly harden themselves from the minerals in the sand. Just one of many quirks that came with being able to bend the ground to any need.
  28.
  29. "... I don't know anything. I know that when Ohtli and Eiphraem mentioned it to you, I liked everything I had heard. Love, compassion, selflessness. People continue to try and inch me towards other arts, but none of them..
  30.
  31. … Are me. Does that make sense?" She takes in a deep breath and watches Lea took her left hand into the air and shifted the water, almost like she was tugging on marionette strings.
  32.
  33. "... You're an excellent water magi. I've never seen it move like that." She leans in, staring at it. "so then - What is it? The Arcane?"
  34. (Caira Vindict)
  35. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  36.
  37. [21:22] "The arcane is when the world and you move together as one. Where it listens without you casting commands, where it dances together with you in perfect harmony."
  38.
  39. Lea continued playing around with the water, its movements perfectly matching the movements of her hands.
  40.
  41. "I am not commanding this water, magically. I am not controlling it. It's listening to me, and I'm listening to it. The world has faith in me, and I have faith in it. What you are witnessing is not water magic, if you'll notice the flow of my mana. This is the Arcane."
  42.
  43. A grandiose explanation for someone so new to the art, but an accurate one nonetheless.
  44.
  45. "That's what it is, in a nutshell."
  46. (Lea Elisheva)
  47. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  48.
  49. [21:26] "... That's extremely vague, Lea." She comments at first, watching the water move and perform in reply to every movement and flick of Lea's wrist. It was far too accurate and delicate to be some overarching manifestation of the mana in the water itself. ".. What do you mean.. The world is moving with you?"
  50.
  51. As a swordswoman, an earth magi - The blunt side of the world had far more impact than the grand and intricate. She loved stones for god's sake, this has her straight up confused.
  52.
  53. "..."
  54.
  55. Radio silence.
  56. (Caira Vindict)
  57. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  58.
  59. [21:31] "I... hm."
  60.
  61. Lea genuinely did not know how to describe it in less complex and abstract terms, as this was a very, very abstract kind of magic, at least the way it was described to her. She did, however, figure out a way to simplify it, by slightly modifying something she just said.
  62.
  63. "It's where you don't have to command the world to make it move. Where your 'magic' comes from"
  64.
  65. This was really hard to explain in simpler terms...
  66.
  67. "Tell me, Caira. How does your magic make you feel, when you use it? How much thought have you put into it? It's okay if you put none- maybe it's even better. I just want to understand how you function so I can offer a better means of explaining it."
  68. (Lea Elisheva)
  69. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  70.
  71. [21:45] "Wait.. I have an idea." Caira reaches into her bag and pulls out a rather large tome. Opening it up, she'd pass it over to Lea. "I bought this from one of the people in Gehenna. I had only read the introduction, the prologue with the author's credits.. But the first chapter is right here."
  72.
  73. She'd point to a table of contents at first before the tome is handed off fully to Lea. Opening the book up to the first, second, or even third chapter would reveal the source behind all Arcane magic. Manipulation and flow with the lifestream, whether bending and snapping it to do your bidding as a Chaos Magi would, or flowing and harmonizing with it as an Order Magi would.
  74.
  75. This is all information Caira hands off to the Elisheva in hopes to have it all put into a nice bow. ".. Our magic comes from the mana in our bodies.. Given to us by.. The lifestream right? Or.. God, I don't know.."
  76.
  77. She wasn't fond of the wholethinking aspect. She's an earth magi - Feeling, doing, acting is more.
  78.
  79. "My magic makes me feel rock solid. My stance is unbreaking. It makes me feel like I could do anything, take any blow. When I move into a foe's range, I don't feel danger. I feel.. elated. Invincible. Confident
  80. (Caira Vindict)
  81. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  82.
  83. [21:47] Vetani says, "Knock knock. Vetani calls."
  84. [21:48] {Item} You picked up Tome Of The Arcane. Dropped by Caira Vindict. .
  85. [21:53] It seemed the best way to learn really was to teach, as she had learned some interesting things from that book. Lea never viewed the arcane in such an... academic light, and indeed, she was best equipped to understand it through how she did not. But it did give her a means of explaining it that someone as direct and straightforward as Caira might understand.
  86.
  87. "I want you to do something that expends your mana, meditate, and try to feel it as it enters your body. I want you to try your hardest to concentrate and expand your senses until you can feel the lifestream's mana before it enters you."
  88.
  89. A sixth sense, if you will.
  90.
  91. "In other words, I want you to observe your mana circuits and hone your awareness until you can see where it comes from, however faintly. Does that make more sense?"
  92. (Lea Elisheva)
  93. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  94.
  95. [21:53] {Item} You drop Tome Of The Arcane x1.
  96. [22:10] ".. Meditation? I've never done that in my life." She pipes up at first, turning back to look at the demi-angel. "Isn't that just sleeping while you're sitting down?" Caira points to the marble pad she'd erected for the two of them. "I can concentrate on my senses, though. You know the whole magical sense you get when an Occultist or someone insane is nearby."
  97.
  98. She takes in a deep breath and closes her eyes for a time. "You just want me to focus on my senses and mana, right? Draw in, and exhale slow. Have you actually.. You know.. Felt the intake of mana? I've never experienced something like that."
  99.
  100. Caira blinks a few times and thinks about herself for a time. ".. Is there anything else you want me to focus on? Just the mana? Plenty of magic comes innate emotions. I might be able to focus better if I.."
  101.
  102. She's quiet.
  103. (Caira Vindict)
  104. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  105.
  106. [22:16] "All you have to do is breathe in, breathe out, and observe yourself. Start by focusing on your breathing, but let go of even that focus. The purest form of observation comes when there's nothing between you and what you're observing."
  107.
  108. That was the simplest way to describe meditation that she could come up with. It was an inherently spiritual practice, after all, and once you hit the level of the spirit, the only way to describe it was through such metaphors.
  109.
  110. "In other words, think less, be more. Let go of everything, and just watch."
  111. (Lea Elisheva)
  112. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  113.
  114. [22:29] Caira was sitting upon her little square before her eyes fall shut and her hands come down into her lap. She's speaking while she does this because for the life of her, despite being part of Gehenna and their spiritual culture, she hadn't been a savant of meditation or taking it slow.
  115.
  116. "... Breath in... Then out.." Caira fills her lungs and lets her chest expand outwards, shutting down everything. Her touch, her smell, her sight. They weren't important. She's feeling the air come into her and leave her promptly after.
  117.
  118. ".. Letting go.." And then Caira stops speaking. She hones in on this feeling as things start to slow down for her. Think less.. Become more.
  119.
  120. Become.. Mana. Feeling. Become nothing at all. Caira no longer felt her senses, just her mana. Just the intake and flow of some kind of otherworldly source input just a fragment of force.
  121.
  122. … Like a connection to some higher power. Like a connection to.. Everything. Caira can feel it in the air. The water. The sand and the stones. Into every last tree, and even Lea at her side.
  123.
  124. .. With just how long Caira is silent, she'd found -some- kind of attunement.
  125. (Caira Vindict)
  126. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  127.
  128. [22:36] Lea, too, sat down. She silenced herself, emptied her mind, and began manipulating the water around her as if it were an extension of her. The intent here was to give Caira a clear indicator of just where her senses were leading her, making this process a bit easier. But, as said, Lea was completely and utterly silent, unable to explain the intent behind this. Perhaps it was best not to explain, as it could very well break Caira's concentration.
  129.
  130. Besides, were she attuned enough to it, she might be able to hear Lea speaking through her movements of the water.
  131.
  132. Can you hear me?
  133.
  134. She waited for some kind of response. Any kind.
  135. (Lea Elisheva)
  136. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  137.
  138. [22:51] Caira continued to focus on that very slight touch of mana from the outside world. Like an application of force in all directions that coursed through her body and veins in odd ways. She takes in a deep breath and starts to move her hand upwards. Very slowly does it start to shift, and even though it isn't Caira's intention - The sand and stones around her person begin to shift and vibrate very subtly.
  139.
  140. When she went dead silent like this and tied herself to the connection of all around her, she really did feel like she could manipulate anything. Scratching the surface, the tiniest amount of knowledge is afforded to her.
  141.
  142. And so when Lea moved the water, Caira was moving the stones and shifting the sands on her own. Unfortunately, she doesn't respond to Lea's prodding - But perhaps showing the very first inklings of understanding in her telekinetic movements -
  143.
  144. Well. Perhaps that was more than enough.
  145. (Caira Vindict)
  146. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  147.
  148. [22:57] Yeah, that was enough.
  149.
  150. While Lea continued manipulating the water for Caira's sake, she decided that Caira had come far enough for now, and merely waited in silence until she was finished. Lea was used to meditating by now; indeed, it was a hobby of hers that was partially responsible for her spacing out. But Caira might have no such patience, deciding to break from her trance shortly after.
  151. (Lea Elisheva)
  152. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  153.
  154. [23:09] Caira was not someone who practiced or even enjoyed meditation. But this? This is fun. Her hand continues to whisk left and right, making elegant movements left and right until she was smiling wide as ever. The focus is upon that palpable connection to something higher. The focus is upon making sure she was obeying every law and right that came with it.
  155.
  156. She wasn't bending the lifestream, she was communing with it. She was.. An envoy for it. Giggling now, she begins to raise stone after stone with that prodding - And all at once.
  157.
  158. The stones drop. Surrounding Caira in a neat little circle, her eyes open up and she's looking left and right. Her mouth is open now, and wide eyes piece together the scene before her. She'd made waves in the sand, long motions that looked like beautiful works of art.
  159.
  160. The stones surrounding her were of an almost perfect circle. She knew that part, but the rest? It's all so jarring to see when her eyes eventually open.
  161.
  162. "... This is beautiful."
  163. (Caira Vindict)
  164. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  165.
  166. [23:14] Lea smiled and happily nodded in response to what Caira said. She felt a sense of pride well up within her, which was reflected in her happily fluttering wings. She saw it with herself, and she saw it in Caira, too; when an order magi influences the world, everything makes sense. Everything seems to flow together perfectly, turning creation itself into a symphony.
  167.
  168. She shuddered to wonder what the actions of a more practiced Order magi would look like.
  169.
  170. "I'm really proud of you, Caira. And yeah, it's very beautiful."
  171. (Lea Elisheva)
