- Mike was a rather simple person. Though saying that did him a disservice. While he was a simple person, his life had been anything but simple. For six years he'd been living in the wild, away from civilization. Having ran away from home after a terrible mess he'd created.
- At first life out in the wilderness was hard. The first few days had been the worst of it. By the fourth though something had taken over. The more primal instincts that he had always been struggling to suppress took over once more.
- When his mind had come back to being his own he wasn't hungry or to cold, but he felt wet and the taste or metal filled his mouth. Laying not to far away was the corpse of some grazing animal. It had been dark in the den he found himself in. it had terrified the young boy to see blood again so soon but, this time it didn't hurt as bad to see it.
- It was during these years that he had to live with the ever growing beast like side of himself. And to him it had been a better life. Though his human side had always drawn him back to human populated areas. Visiting the outskirts of towns and villages. And taking small things here and there. His human side's curiosity and want to live amongst other humans growing by the day.,But he was worried about the beastly side of his own personality. Remembering what he had done before starting his life in the wilds.
- It was then that he sat out to better control his instincts. Fighting larger predators of the wilds, wasn't something that was uncommon to happen to him. As he crossed through many different territories. It had been these creatures he had decided to try to control himself. These fights had always result in the animal being killed in the past. It had always been the rule to kill or be killed. He wanted to stop this, though the only thing he came up with was to simply try to stop himself from killing them. If he could do that when maybe he could live with other humans.
- The first month of trying to achieve this was nothing but blankness. Each fight had gone the same. He'd attack them and then blackout. Only come back after having killed the large animal. Though as he progressed he began seeings flashes and portions of the battles albeit fuzzy. Soon enough the portions got more clear. He could see what he was doing, but not anything else. He found that control over his own body felt like he was fighting some other entity for control. His body naturally fought on auto-pilot.
- It had been hard but over time he found if he focused hard enough he could alter his movements just a bit, and from there he kept working over it. Eventually he had gotten it down. He still remembered the first creature he had been able to spare. It had been a large Grizzly.
- The fight had began like many others in the past several months. He had felt the fight or flight trigger his more primal nature, and things began to become blurry like all the other times. From the bear he felt malice along with their intent to eliminate the intruder into their territory.
- Trying to hang onto consciousness was hard. It had always felt the more he struggled the darker things became. He tried to calm his mind, which slowly made things seem like they slowed down. The more he cleared his mind the easier it became to focus on what was happening before him. Slowly he began feeling something, some flow inside of him guiding him. His subconscious working in the back ground. Directing his body. He was beginning to know what his body was going to do, instead of being oblivious to it's directions. Seeing openings of where he needed to strike, where to dodge.
- Though however upon making this connection his flow seemed to give. For a moment he was in control and the next thing he knew he was struck by the bear and sent into a tree. He had blacked out right as he had been getting up. He dimly felt the same guiding presence working in the background. Trying to find some way to wake up or something a light seemed to form. He saw how quickly his body was moving for a split second. His attacks seemed to a blurr for a moment. And when he woke he felt himself gain control once more. His fist stopping mid attack as the bear seemed to be on it's last leg, it slowly came down to collapse.
- Having stopped the killing blow, merely by chance. While it wasn't perfect it was a start. Working off of it had been a bit troublesome but he had managed. He had never really noticed his attacks had been quick. As when fight started things seemed to slow down for him. It had been why things blurred while he was in that trance like state of letting his instincts guide him. He had gained a somewhat decent grasp over it though to stop before things went to far, and given his hopes of living along side other people a chance.
- [Tl:dr : Bit of back story, simple guy guided by instinct attacks fast]
