  1. Hi, Linda. I am a big fan :D. This is a really nice observation and one that I have struggled with a while. I once read an article that seems to have set me on course (can't find it now). The key takeaways were;
  2.
  3. 1. Deliberate and "variety" practice is vital. If you spend your time just working at the office or at your house, practice under different circumstances than you are used to (say, leave for the cafe or the beach ^_^ if you spend your time just working at the office or at your house). Try working on different project themes than you are used to, and those that are even more challenging than the previous projects.
  4.
  5. 2. Be willing to use your skills to volunteer for social good (impact-driven, charitable) causes. You could decide to join a non-profit organization or two where you can volunteer to help out with your skills from time to time, even looking for better ways they can leverage your skills. This can also co-note the idea of "meaningful work".
  6.
  7. 3. Be system-oriented rather than goal-oriented. The idea behind this is that rather than setting goals and targets amidst what you want to become (which forces you to be in a "failed state" until you achieve it), build systems instead that focus on your tracking improvement in performance each and every time you set out to practice.

  9. These helped me. Hope you took a point or two from it.
