  1. The area from her right shoulder to her chest and stomach was torn away, leaving a gaping
  2. emptiness in its place. It was like her entire body had been made to represent a crescent
  3. moon.
  4. But that was not enough.
  5. It did not count as damage. The brown woman was still grinning below the pouring
  6. sprinklers.
  7. “I am Nephthys, a collection of the tens of thousands of slaves and servants buried along
  8. with the pharaohs.”
  9. A quiet buzzing sound followed.
  10. Nephthys’s body blurred.
  11. “So my body never did require the circulation of an individual. I contain countless linked
  12. loops of life force, so even if one part is severed, the pathway can be rerouted to preserve
  13. the overall circulation. Cutting just one of the parallel wires will not shut off the light bulb.
  14. Did you think destroying what looks like my brain or heart would be enough to kill me?”
  15. Accelerator did not let it bother him too much.
  16. He swung his hand which could destroy all of someone’s blood vessels and nerves at a
  17. touch and he scored a clean hit on Nephthys’s twisted form. He felt it hit and it did destroy
  18. the inside of her body. But that was not what mattered.
  19. Her body was destroyed, but she kept moving.
  20. That was the crucial point.
  21. The same had happened during Kamisato Kakeru’s domination in the shadows of
  22. Academy City. His World Rejecter had definitely hit Nephthys, but it had not completely
  23. annihilated her. She had pulled that one off by splitting apart her own body so a portion
  24. of it could remain in this world.
  25. She was not built so losing any one of her organs would kill her.
  26. The brown beauty managed herself via percentages.
