  1. The original prompt that inspired the story:
  2.
  3. "Hey Sunset, why'd you call me out here?"
  4. >"Oh hi Anon, I'm so glad you could make it out here. I was just thinking, we're friends right?"
  5. "Sure, especially after you blackmailed me into licking your vagina for a month."
  6. >Sunset smiles nervously blushing a bit.
  7. >"W-well, I.. I want you to know I've changed, and I feel bad about all the terrible things I've done in the past."
  8. "That's great, because you were bad and you should feel bad." You said bitterly.
  9. >"Aww, come on don't be like that." She says smiling walking over to you. She slings her arms around your shoulder from behind.
  10. "W-what are you?"
  11. >She leans in close, her chest slightly pressed against your back. In a more serious tone she says,
  12. >"I'm sorry, for everything.. I know you'll probably have a hard time finding in yourself to forgive me, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it up to you."
  13. >You blush intensely when she says this.
  14. "A-anything... Y-you'll really do, anything?" You can feel tears streaming down her face onto your neck.
  15. >"Of course, and you know, I just thought of how many times we've had our differences, but deep down, I always knew that you were a really nice guy. S-so, I'm sorry for getting all emotional, but it just hurts to know what a terrible person I used to be."
  16. -------------------------------------------------------------------
  17.
  18. >As her tears continue, you fight a battle of inner turmoil.
  19. >Could you really forgive Sunset after all the things she'd done to you?
  20. >It wasn't just mean or cruel, it was downright humiliating.
  21. >Not only that, but you lived in constant fear.
  22. >Fear that she'd suddenly give out the dirt she had on you.
  23. >Just for a laugh.
  24. >You never put it past her, that's the kind of person she is.
  25. >Was.
  26. >The kind of person she was.
  27. >She's changed.
  28. >You know that.
  29. >You can see it, hear it, and feel it.
  30. >She's really trying to make amends with everyone.
  31. >But again, could you 'find it in your heart' to forgive her completely?
  32. >To be her... friend?
  33. >You gently shrug her off and face her.
  34. "Sunset, I'm glad you've changed."
  35. >"You believe me?"
  36. >She asks with a smile while sniffling.
  37. "I do. And about your offer-"
  38. >"Anything! Just name it!"
  39. >Her smile grows.
  40. "Could you just leave me alone from now on?"
  41. >"W-what?"
  42. >Her face drops.
  43. "Look, even though you've changed, it doesn't change what you've done to me. You invaded my privacy, found out I liked hentai, and threatened to tell the whole school, along with my parents."
  44. >"Anon, I-"
  45. "You made me give you head for a month in exchange for not telling, and you taunted me the whole time! You even teased me by saying you might dress up like anime characters to get me off, but you never did! You'd just laugh and say how pathetic and stupid it was to get off to cartoons. Made me feel like shit."
  46. >Her tears start up again.
  47. "I know you're trying to make things right and be friends, but... I can't. It's too weird... and it hurts too much. So leave me alone, and never tell anyone about any of this, okay?"
  48. >She just nods slowly.
  49. >You start walking away.
  50. "Hope you're able to turn things around for yourself."
  51. >You say sincerely.
  52. >As you leave, you hear her sobbing softly.
  53. >You're about to round the corner of the back of the school, when suddenly you hear footsteps running towards you.
  54. >Before you can even turn around, your arm is grabbed with both hands by Sunset.
  55. "Sunset, what are yo-"
  56. >"PLEASE! Please don't go!"
  57. >She's completely broken down now.
  58. >Sobs and tears flowing freely, her face is one of pure anguish.
  59. >You're actually surprised.
  60. >"I need your forgiveness, Anon."
  61. >A moment of silence as your curiosity gets the best of you.
  62. "Why, Sunset? Why are you willing to go this far? Why me?"
  63. >"Because out of all the people I've hurt, you're the one I hurt the most. I know that. And if I can't right the wrong I've done to you, I feel like I'll never be able to truly atone for everything."
  64. >That did make sense, you've felt that way yourself.
  65. >You knew what it was like to make a mistake that you could never take back.
  66. >But the mistake Sunset had made with you...
  67. "I just don't know if I..."
  68. >You look away from her, trying not to feel anything.
  69. >As you're looking away, your arm is tugged harder and lower.
  70. >You turn back over and see her kneeling on the ground, still clutching your arm tightly.
  71. >She's looking up at you with those tear filled eyes.
  72. >"Please, Anon. I... I'm begging you. I am so, so sorry."
  73. >She's pleading as if her life depends on it.
  74. >That turmoil from a few moments ago had returned, but now raging harder.
  75. >Before you could speak or even think anymore, a sound interrupts.
  76. >A growl coming from Sunset's stomach.
  77. >It's so loud and so long that it almost leaves you speechless.
  78. "...Was that... ?"
  79. >She looks down and stays silent for a moment, before speaking again.
  80. >"I've been so nervous about apologizing to you that I... haven't eaten in a day or so..."
  81. >And that's it.
  82. >It's done.
  83. >You now understand that Sunset has suffered over this just as much as you.
  84. >You may be a fool for what you're about to do, but my god, Anon, you're not made of stone.
  85. "Get up."
  86. >She looks back up at you.
  87. "That's enough, really."
  88. >You take off one of her hands with your own and lift her up to stand.
  89. >She gives you a look of fearful confusion.
  90. "It's okay."
  91. >She's still holding onto your arm as her eyes widen a bit.
  92. >"You mean?"
  93. "I forgive you, Sunset."
  94. >You're not smiling or frowning.
  95. >There's no happiness or anger.
  96. >Your face and voice just simply express a somber acceptance.
  97. "We've both suffered enough over this. I see that now. It's time to start moving past this."
  98. >You can actually see her face light up as she smiles.
  99. >"Oh Anon!"
  100. >She suddenly grabs you into a tight hug, burying her face into your shoulder.
  101. >Your shirt has now become a tissue as she begins to cry again, this time from joy.
  102. >You're taken aback at first, but you relax and embrace her, lightly patting her on the back.
  103. >"Thank you. You don't know what this means to me."
  104. >You can feel a weight lifted off her.
  105. >Surprisingly, you feel a bit lifted off yourself too.
  106. >Though it all still felt weird, maybe you needed this as well?
  107. >She finally lets go of you and notices your soaked shoulder.
  108. >"O-oh! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"
  109. "It's fine."
  110. >You wave off.
  111. >She smiles again.
  112. >She begins to try and compose herself by breathing and wiping away her tears.
  113. >She looked like a mess though.
  114. >Her eyes were red and puffed, while her hair had become disheveled.
  115. >As you wonder where to go from here, your thoughts are again interrupted by a hungry growl from Sunset.
  116. >She winces a bit, as she puts her hand over her stomach, and looks away from you to hide some of her embarrassment.
  117. >You sigh.
  118. "Look, why don't we get you something to eat?"
  119. >She looks back at you surprised.
  120. >"Eat?"
  121. "Well, you're obviously starving, right?"
  122. >"Yeah, but I don't know if I could handle being in public right now."
  123. >She hugged herself.
  124. >It's true she looked bad, and she was trembling now too.
  125. >No, she needs to be somewhere quiet and calm for a while.
  126. >Your family were all home by now, so that's out.
  127. >That meant only one other option.
  128. "Alright then, let's go back to your place and order a pizza."
  129. >"You would do that?"
  130. "Yeah, we can order it now on our way there."
  131. >"I, um... yeah. That... that sounds good."
  132. >She stood there staring at you in amazement.
  133. "Come on then, lead the way. I don't know where you live after all."
  134. >"Yeah, right!"
  135. >She snapped out of it and started walking.
  136. >You pulled out your phone and began walking along with her.
  137. >You placed the order, having Sunset give her address.
  138. >They said it'd be twenty minutes.
  139. >You made it to her apartment in about ten.
  140. >As you step inside behind her, you look around.
  141. >It's pretty much what you expected.
  142. >A small place, nothing special.
  143. >There's a couch, a coffee table, and an old Sony CRT.
  144. >It's a nice one too.
  145. >You wouldn't mind playing some vidya on that.
  146. >Sunset takes her jacket off and walks into the small kitchen.
  147. >She opens the fridge and grabs a water bottle, greedily drinking it up.
  148. >Made sense that she needed to rehydrate after all that crying.
  149. >"I'm gonna go straighten up before the pizza gets here."
  150. "Good idea."
  151. >"There's soda in the fridge, and tv's got cable, so make yourself at home."
  152. >She says as she walks into, and closes the bedroom door.
  153. >You take this time to pour two glasses of soda in preparation of the forthcoming delivery.
  154. >With that done, you turn on the tv and start surfing for something to watch.
  155. >After a while, Sunset comes back out.
  156. >First thing you notice is she's washed up, and fixed her hair of course.
  157. >The signs she had been crying were still there, but she looked better.
  158. >It was what she changed into that took you by surprise.
  159. >She's wearing jeans and a hoodie.
  160. >You'd never seen her like this before.
  161. >She's actually kind of... cute.
  162. >"Find anything good?"
  163. >She asks, as she sits down on the couch with you, hugging her legs up to her chest and curling into a ball.
  164. >She looks so comfy, you almost had the urge to reach out and cuddle her.
  165. >Damn it, Anon!
  166. >It's already weird enough being with Sunset in her apartment.
  167. >Don't start thinking weird shit too.
  168. "Nah, not really. I'm trying to find a movie but-"
  169. >A loud knock at the door.
  170. >"Oh, thank god!"
  171. >No one is getting up.
  172. >You look at each other.
  173. >"Well?"
  174. "You want me to?"
  175. >You point at yourself in surprise.
  176. >"Does it look like I want to be seen right now?"
  177. >She raises the hood of her sweater to hide herself.
  178. >"Go!"
  179. >She must be feeling better if she's bossing you around like that.
  180. >You get up and open the door.
  181. >As you're handed the pizza, it disappears.
  182. >You realize it's been ninja'd from behind by Sunset Hoodie.
  183. >How the fuck?
  184. >You pay and tip the delivery guy.
  185. >You and Sunset had already agreed to go halfsies on it.
  186. >After closing and locking the door, you look back to see a slice seemingly vanishing into the darkness of her hood.
  187. >You pull it back, revealing the frenzy within.
  188. >Cheese and sauce all over her mouth, no self restraint at all.
  189. >She ignores you, continuing to eat.
  190. >You grab the pizza box from her.
  191. >"Mmrfah!"
  192. >She protests.
  193. "At least come and sit down before you begin 'the feed'."
  194. >You bring it over to the coffee table and Sunset follows like an excited child.
  195. >After two slices and a glass of soda, she's calmed down.
  196. >But she's not stopping, as she goes for her third slice.
  197. >Meanwhile, you're still looking for something to watch.
  198. >You're about to give up until you find a holy grail.
  199. >THE holy grail actually.
  200. "Awesome! Let's watch this!"
  201. >"Whud iz zit?"
  202. "You've never seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail?"
  203. >She shakes her head.
  204. "Oh wow, you're going to love this."
  205. >You grab a slice.
  206. >One half was italian sausage, the other pepperoni.
  207. >You go for italian this time.
  208. >As you sit back and get comfortable, you look over to Sunset who is watching, and eating, intently.
  209. >You then notice how okay you are with all of this.
  210. >Hanging out over at Sunset's.
  211. >Eating together and watching a movie.
  212. >It actually felt pretty cozy.
  213. >And so it was.
  214. >As the movie went on, Sunset was completely enthralled.
  215. >She was laughing hysterically at every part.
  216. >You had heard her laugh before, but it was a cold and cruel laugh.
  217. >This was different.
  218. >This time it was warm and inviting.
  219. >You enjoyed seeing this side of her.
  220. >Eventually, the movie and pizza were over.
  221. >You look at Sunset.
  222. "Well, what did you think?"
  223. >"That was amazing!"
  224. >She says with a huge smile.
  225. >But even after the movie, you continued to hang out.
  226. >Just watching random tv and commenting on it.
  227. >You didn't mind at all.
  228. >Before either of you realized, it had gotten late.
  229. "Well... I'd better get home."
  230. >"Oh, right."
  231. >You could hear disappointment in her voice.
  232. >It probably wasn't a usual thing to have someone over like this.
  233. >You get up off the couch, stretch out, and start for the door.
  234. >Sunset reluctantly follows.
  235. >You open the door and half step out.
  236. >After shuffling a bit and looking down, she speaks up.
  237. >"Thanks, Anon. For all of this."
  238. "Yeah. I'm glad we were able to settle it like this."
  239. >"You know, if you still don't want to be my friend, I'd under-"
  240. >You put your hand on her shoulder and give a smile.
  241. "Let's hang out again, huh?"
  242. >Somehow, within these few hours, almost all the hurt and anger you held for Sunset had gone away.
  243. >Not completely of course, there was still a tinge of cation in you.
  244. >But you were now willing to really move on.
  245. >She slowly smiles and her eyes start to water.
  246. >"Anon..."
  247. "Oh c'mon! Aren't you tired of being a leaky faucet yet?"
  248. >You teased.
  249. >She chuckles and sniffles back her tears.
  250. >"Yeah, actually."
  251. >You take a few steps outside and look back.
  252. "See you tomorrow at school."
  253. >"Goodnight, Anon."
  254. >She says softly as she closes the door.
  255. >You start your walk home and go over the day in your head.
  256. >It was certainly an interesting one.
  257. >And it seemed there was more to come from now on.
  258.
  259. >It had been two weeks since then.
  260. >You hadn't actually gotten together again like you planned to, but you and Sunset talked everyday at school.
  261. >For all her amend making, she still didn't really have any friends outside the 'Mane Six' and you.
  262. >So you ended up spending alot of time together.
  263. >In the hallways and at lunch.
  264. >Learning more about each other.
  265. >You found yourself genuinely enjoying it.
  266. >Something your past self never would have thought possible.
  267. >Today though, Sunset seemed a bit anxious.
  268. >It wasn't until school was out did you find out why.
  269. >"Hey, Anon, would you come over again? I have something I wanna show you."
  270. >You think about it for a second.
  271. "Yeah, I can hang out for a while. I just need to text my family to let them know."
  272. >You parents were a bit upset that you stood out so late last time without telling them.
  273. >But when you informed them you were with a girl the whole time, they weren't as mad anymore.
  274. >You were a dork who never had much luck with girls, so it was probably a relief for them.
  275. >"Great! Let's go!"
  276. >You follow an excited Sunset back to her apartment.
  277.
  278. "Alright, what's this thing you want to show me?"
  279. >She points to the tv as she takes off her jacket.
  280. >"Look over there!"
  281. >You do so and see...
  282. "Oh man, seriously?"
  283. >There under the tv stand is an old SNES.
  284. >You walk over and bend down to inspect it.
  285. >She has a standard, but nice collection of games.
  286. >Super Mario World, Mario All Stars, Mario Kart, Street Fighter II, and holy shit, Kirby Super Star.
  287. >Not only that, she has two controllers and... oh mother of god.
  288. >As you check to see how it's connected to the tv, you find none other than an s-video cable.
  289. >An SNES hooked up to a Sony CRT with s-video.
  290. >The 'ultimate' combo!
  291. >You look back up to her in astonishment.
  292. >She crosses her arms and grows a smug grin.
  293. >"Impressed, are you?"
  294. "How did you? Where did you?"
  295. >"Found a garage sale on my way home yesterday. A mom was selling her moved out son's 'old toys' for $20."
  296. "Daaaamn. That guy is gonna be totally upset whenever he finds out."
  297. >Her arms drop and her smug expression changes to one of concern.
  298. >"Wait, really? Should we give it back then?"
  299. "Pfft! Are you kidding?! Fuck that! It's his fault for leaving such a treasure behind."
  300. >Her smile quickly returns with a more devious nature.
  301. >"Good answer, since I actually had no intentions to give it back."
  302. >There it was, some of the old Sunset.
  303. >You'd seen bits and pieces of it every now and then.
  304. >But it was nowhere near as mean spirited as before.
  305. >In fact, it was more similar to your brand of mean, so you liked it.
  306. >A few minutes later and you're both sitting on the couch holding controllers.
  307. >Sunset had changed into jeans and a t-shirt.
  308. >You notice she's sitting a little closer to you this time.
  309. >But it's fine.
  310. >You've become friends now, so it isn't as awkward as last time.
  311. "Okay, so, what are we doing here?"
  312. >You had put in All Stars while she was changing, and were now on the game select screen.
  313. >She looks over to you with a smile.
  314. >"Let's play all of them!"
  315. "All of them?!"
  316. >"Just for a little bit! I already tried them all yesterday, but since I've never played video games before, I want you to take me through them and give me tips on how to play."
  317. >That was more reasonable.
  318. >There was no way you could beat all these games in one sitting.
  319. "So then, you finally want help from an expert gamer, eh?"
  320. >You tease as you stroke your chin with narrowed eyes.
  321. >You had to.
  322. >This was the kind of thing Sunset would have made fun of you for not too long ago after all.
  323. >Sunset rolls her eyes with a smile.
  324. >"Yes, please teach me, oh wise master."
  325. >She says heavy on the sarcasm.
  326. "Very well then! Let's start with the basics."
  327. >You select and start the original Super Mario.
  328. >You choose a one player game and immediately hand her the controller.
  329. "Go ahead."
  330. >"Why me first?"
  331. "I wanna get an idea of how you play."
  332. >"Okay then."
  333. >She starts moving Mario with reluctance.
  334. >"But I can't get very far."
  335. >And you could see why.
  336. >She isn't using the run button at all.
  337. >She's only moving and jumping very cautiously, taking her time.
  338. >Honestly, it's like watching your grandma play.
  339. >She at least knew to get the mushroom and not touch the goombas.
  340. >She prefers to avoid them altogether.
  341. >In fact, she's actually scared of them.
  342. >"Y-you see that? There's two of them!"
  343. "Yes. Yes there are."
  344. >"Well, how do I get by them?"
  345. "Just land on them. They'll die."
  346. >"But if I touch them, I'll get small."
  347. "You'll still be alive."
  348. >"I don't wanna be small!"
  349. "Just go already!"
  350. >With one eye closed, she moves off the pipe and lands on one of them.
  351. >"Ahh!"
  352. "Get the other!"
  353. >She jumps on the next.
  354. >"I got them!"
  355. >She seems proud of herself.
  356. "Good. Now keep going. Wait, jump up here."
  357. >"Why?"
  358. "There's a secret."
  359. >She does as she's told and the famous 1-up block appears.
  360. "Quick! Get it!"
  361. >"What is it?!"
  362. "Hurry before it falls in the hole!"
  363. >She panics, and walks right off with the 1-up into the pit.
  364. >You start laughing, as you knew this was going to happen.
  365. >"Oohh! You killed me! I just wanted to make my jump there! Look at that, I lost a tiny man."
  366. >You laugh even more.
  367. "Who are you, an old lady? This is going to take some time."
  368.
  369. >You have her play for another 30 minutes.
  370. >Eventually, she's able to reach the warp zone.
  371. >"Where did that cloud guy come from? He's throwing things?!"
  372. "You have to get to high ground to kill him! Run!"
  373. >"They're coming to life!? HE'S CHASING ME?!"
  374. >Another twenty minutes goes by quickly.
  375. >You're having way too much fun teasing Sunset over all this.
  376. >You're interrupted by a knock at the door.
  377. "Who?"
  378. >"Pizza's here!"
  379. >She smiles and jumps off the couch to open the door.
  380.
  381. >With a hot pizza in front of you, it's time to move her onto Mario 2.
  382. >You start taking turns, giving the one not playing enough time to eat a slice.
  383. >"This one is... bizarre."
  384. "Yeah, it's kinda the black sheep of the franchise."
  385. >"Did I just throw a plate of spaghetti?"
  386. "No, that's a shell. Now go into that pot and get the key."
  387. >"That face is creepy. Oh shit! It came to life!"
  388. "Run!"
  389. >You laugh, enjoying every moment of her panic.
  390. >"Why is it chasing me?! WHY IS IT SO CREEPY?!"
  391.
  392. >Mario 3.
  393. >"Oh, you have a tail now? You're flying!"
  394. "Yep. Pretty cool, huh? Lets you get up to these clouds."
  395. >"I wanna try!"
  396. "Okay, but let me play the third level so we can get the whistle."
  397. >"The what?"
  398. "You'll see."
  399. >A while later...
  400. >"Man, that sun looks pissed!"
  401. "You think so?"
  402. >"Yeah, kinda reminds me of that creepy face-oh god it's moving!"
  403. >You laugh at her plight once again.
  404. "Run, girl! Run!"
  405. >"What did I do?! WHY IS IT SO ANGRY?!"
  406.
  407. >Mario World.
  408. >"So this green thing will eat everything?"
  409. "Not everything. You can't eat that guy wearing the helmet."
  410. >"He ran at me! The green thing is running away!"
  411. "Well you better go catch it!"
  412. >"A plant jumped out of the bush?! I died!"
  413. >Later...
  414. >"Is that a wizard? He shot colors at me!"
  415. "Don't let it hit you."
  416. >"He made a block come to life?! HE CAN TELEPORT?!"
  417.
  418. >Mario Kart.
  419. >"What are the coins for? Do you get a 1-up?"
  420. "Nah, they make you faster."
  421.
  422. >Street Fighter.
  423. >"I really like this game!"
  424. "Figures."
  425. >"Oh! I'm beating you!"
  426. "Because I'm going easy on you."
  427. >"Yeah right! I won! You ain't so pretty now, Chun-Li! Go home and be a family man!"
  428. "Alright, let's do that again."
  429. >Two rounds later...
  430. "See? I was going easy on you. Look at that! I'm the strongest woman in the world!"
  431. >"Congratulations, your parents must be proud."
  432. >She says with a completely deadpan face.
  433.
  434. >Finally, it was time for Kirby.
  435. >"This Kirby thing reminds me of Pinkie. Pink, causes a disturbance wherever he goes, inhales any nearby food. She would love this game."
  436. "Yeah, actually."
  437. >You chuckle.
  438. >Sunset had improved dramatically over these past few hours.
  439. >She was able to keep pace with you at least.
  440. "Well, I think I've done my job for the night."
  441. >"Can't you stay for a little while longer?"
  442. >She frowns.
  443. "We can do this again. I'll even lend you some of my games."
  444. >"You've got a lot, huh?"
  445. "Oh yeah, tons."
  446. >You think of something.
  447. "Hey, Sunset?"
  448. >"Yeah?"
  449. "Why have you suddenly become so interested in video games? I know you've changed, but this isn't like you at all."
  450. >She stays silent for a moment while continuing to play.
  451. >"...I think I just wanted to try something you cared about. The old me made fun of you for this kind of stuff, and I don't want to be that person anymore. I guess I just... wanted to show you that."
  452. >She pauses the game and looks down.
  453. >You're amazed.
  454. >Sunset has come so far from who she used to be.
  455. >You almost feel like you could...
  456. >No, forget it.
  457. >You look over to her with a smile.
  458. "I had alot of fun tonight, Sunset."
  459. >She returns the smile.
  460. >"I had even more."
  461. "I'm sure you did, playing all these games for the first time."
  462. >You look back at the tv.
  463. "Man, I remember when I first played these games. Never thought I'd ever be playing them with yo-"
  464. >Suddenly, somehow, Sunset had sneaked over to your side and gotten her lips locked onto yours.
  465. >Sunset is kissing you.
  466. >...It tastes like pizza.
  467. >You're shocked and surprised, so you give into your first reaction and push her off.
  468. "Sunset! What are doing?!"
  469. >She has a look of worry and regret.
  470. >"I'm sorry, Anon, I know I shouldn't have done that but... I couldn't help myself."
  471. >You give her a look of confusion.
  472. "What are you talking about? You don't mean..."
  473. >"I like you, Anon. Like, really like you."
  474. >You're utterly baffled.
  475. >Your mind is flooded with questions you need answered.
  476. "When? Why?"
  477. >"Ever since you came over to take care of me. Even after how hard it was to forgive me, you still wanted to make sure I was alright."
  478. >She begins to cry, tears streaming down her face.
  479. >"You could have just... walked away. And never speak to me again."
  480. >Her sobbing now getting in the way of her speaking.
  481. >"That's what I expected. That's what I thought you were about to do. And I... wouldn't have blamed you."
  482. >She takes a deep, shaky breath.
  483. >"But you didn't. Even after everything I did to you... you still..."
  484. >She buries her face in her hands, unable to finish her words.
  485. >You just sit there, while she sobs.
  486. >Your mind is losing it.
  487. >You're thinking how to handle this, but you're just drawing up blanks.
  488. >This is a situation that you never thought you'd be in.
  489. >The girl who used and tormented you in such a cruel way, has somehow ended up falling for you?
  490. >While you were busy doing nothing, Sunset has calmed herself down enough to speak again.
  491. >"Anon, I'm... I'm sorry. I know this isn't what you want. I know you don't feel the same. How could you, right?"
  492. >She turns away from you and moves over to the far side of the couch.
  493. >Your heart starts racing.
  494. >Your breathing is getting deeper.
  495. >You're nervous as fuck.
  496. >Because you've made a choice.
  497. >You've made a choice and you're about to go through with it.
  498. >"You can leave, Anon. I won't-Mmf!?"
  499. >Sunset is the one who's shocked and surprised this time, as you pull her towards you for a deep kiss.
  500. >Her tears make it taste really salty.
  501. >Salty pizza.
  502. >Her shock subsides, and she relaxes.
  503. >She doesn't resist at all, letting herself go loose and giving you full control over the kiss.
  504. >You make out for what seems like half an hour, but it's probably more like ten minutes.
  505. >When you finally pull away, you both just stare into each others eyes for a moment, trying to catch your breath.
  506. >"Anon..."
  507. "...I guess this means we're going out now?"
  508. >She gives you a huge glowing smile and nods.
  509. >"Yes!"
  510. "So, I have a girlfriend now? Huh. How bout that."
  511. >She laughs and gets you into a tight hug.
  512. >Unlike last time, you reciprocate fully, and hug her just as tight back.
  513. >It's warm and loving, feeling better than you thought it could.
  514. >You hold onto each other for what seems like even longer than you made out.
  515. >Just enjoying and taking comfort in one another.
  516. >You didn't want to let go until you were sure Sunset had calmed down completely.
  517. >Eventually, she brakes it off, but takes your hands into hers.
  518. >Again, you stare at each other with big smiles.
  519. >She even started to bounce your hands up and down with hers.
  520. >It seems to be making her happy, so you let her do as she pleases.
  521. "Um... so, what now?"
  522. >Hey eyes widen a bit.
  523. >"Don't ask me. I didn't think this far ahead."
  524. "Well then, we'll just... take it slow?"
  525. >"Fine with me. We can figure it out as we go."
  526. "Right. That'll be tomorrow, since I need to get home now."
  527. >You realize that if you stay any longer, you're liable to start making out again with your extremely new girlfriend.
  528. >You get up and walk over to the door, Sunset following and holding your hand the whole short way.
  529. >Even as you're stepping out the door, she's tugging on you.
  530. >Not enough to stop you, but to let you know she's not happy about you leaving.
  531. >You chuckle a bit.
  532. "Sunset, we'll see each other tomorrow."
  533. >"I know but..."
  534. >She pouts and shuffles her feet.
  535. >It's pretty cute
  536. "Look, tomorrow is friday, then we have the whole weekend to spend time together."
  537. >"Yeah... okay."
  538. "Alright then."
  539. >You try to move away from the door, but she holds onto you and pulls you into a deep kiss.
  540. >She pulls away and let's go of your hand.
  541. >"Goodnight, Anon."
  542. "Goodnight, Sunset."
  543. >She softly closes the door, giving you a sheepish smile the whole time.
  544. >You start off for home.
  545.
  546. >The next day at lunchtime, you and Sunset had more to talk about than usual.
  547. >"So after you left, I played more Street Fighter."
  548. "Seriously?"
  549. >"I was too excited!"
  550. "Yeah, I guess I had some trouble sleeping too."
  551. >You admit, to which Sunset grins.
  552. "What else did you play on your own?"
  553. >"Nothing. I don't want to beat anything without you."
  554. "Yeah, I guess I want to be there when you play them too."
  555. >You admit again, to which her grin gets even bigger.
  556. >"So we're going straight over to my place after school, right?"
  557. "As long as we don't order another pizza. I say we start going out to eat."
  558. >"But I wanna try pizza with bacon topping!"
  559. "No."
  560. >"Aww!"
  561.
  562. >The school day ended, and you spent the entire weekend together.
  563. >Having a girlfriend was awesome.
  564. >But having a girlfriend with her own apartment was fuckin' A.
  565. >You did nothing but play video games and make out.
  566. >And cuddling.
  567. >Lots of copious cuddling.
  568. >You even got her to put the hoodie back on, just cause you wanted to cuddle dat comfy.
  569. >When you got hungry, you had to drag her out.
  570. >It was nice to sit down in a restaurant and have a proper dinner together.
  571. >On the last night of your weekend, Sunset was obviously upset that it was coming to an end.
  572. >"Why can't you just live here with me?"
  573. >You laugh.
  574. "I don't think that'd go down well with my parents."
  575. >Sunset is leaning up against you, the both of you snuggled up on the couch, as she plays the copy of Zelda: A Link to the Past, that you brought over.
  576. >"Where am I supposed to go?"
  577. "To the right side of the castle. There. Fall into the hole under that bush."
  578. >"Okay... whoa. Hey! What happened to my uncle?! Is he dying?!"
  579. "Yeah, he dead."
  580. >"Noooooo uncleeeeeeeee!"
  581. "But you get his sword."
  582. >"Oh sweet."
  583. >A moment of silence as she continues on her quest.
  584. >"Anon?"
  585. "Yeah?"
  586. >"Do you think... your family would like me?"
  587. "Sure! Hell, they'd be thrilled with any girl I brought home."
  588. >"That makes sense. I feel better."
  589. >She chuckles.
  590. "Hey now."
  591. >"Just teasing~."
  592. She coos as she nudges into you.
  593. >"But really, I want to come over to your house."
  594. "Alright, we'll hang out at my house next weekend. Sound good?"
  595. >"Yep."
  596. >It helped that no one outside of school knew what Sunset had done.
  597. >You weren't sure if that was because of the influence of Celestia and Luna, or the Mane Six elites.
  598. >"Hey! There's the princess. Why is she locked up with a chest of money?"
  599. "No idea."
  600. >"I was supposed to be a princess."
  601. >She pouts.
  602. "Don't start with this again."
  603. >"I was! You're going out with a girl who could have been a princess!"
  604. "I'm honored."
  605. >"Shut up."
  606. >You chuckle.
  607. "Do you miss it? Your old world?"
  608. >She goes silent for a moment.
  609. >"...Yeah, I do. But I figure once I prove I've changed, I can go back and visit."
  610. "Oh? Maybe you could take pictures for me."
  611. >"You're curious?"
  612. >She asks with a sly smile.
  613. "Well yeah. A world of colorful, talking ponies sounds pretty cool. I could get into that."
  614. >She laughs.
  615. >"That sounds really nerdy when you say it for some reason."
  616. "Besides, I'd like to see what you look like as a pony."
  617. >"I was a DAMN good looking pony."
  618. >She says quite seriously.
  619. "I don't doubt it."
  620. >"Maybe you could come with me?"
  621. "Really?"
  622. >"If I get permission to bring you."
  623. >You think for a moment.
  624. "Would I... turn into a pony?"
  625. >She pauses the game and thinks for a moment as well.
  626. >"I'm... not sure actually. But that's something I'd love to see!"
  627. "I bet I'd be a hot pony."
  628. >"You'd be... a cute pony."
  629. "Cute?! That's all?! Wait a minute, does that mean I'm only cute in this world too?!"
  630. >She laughs and continues the game, avoiding your question.
  631. >"Wow, this priest guy seems evil. And I know evil."
  632. "Oh yeah, he's evil as fuck. You have no idea."
  633.
  634. >Later in the night, you returned to playing Super Mario World, since Sunset was so close to beating it.
  635. >"How does he have giant bowling balls and the princess in there?!"
  636. "Magic?"
  637. >She gives Bowser the last hit, and down comes Peach.
  638. >"Yay! I saved the princess!"
  639. "I helped you as Luigi you know."
  640. >"Nope, she's all mine. I get all the princess lovin' to myself."
  641. "Oh yeah?!"
  642. >You knock the controller out of her hands and attack her with kisses.
  643. >She giggles and begins to kiss back.
  644. >You push her to lay down and she does so.
  645. >You're now making out for the who-knows-anymore-time.
  646. >Suddenly, she pulls away.
  647. >She has a regretful expression.
  648. "What's wrong?"
  649. >"Are you... disappointed?"
  650. "With that?"
  651. >"That we haven't... gone any further than this?"
  652. >You scoff.
  653. "Oh, Sunset, it's not a big deal."
  654. >"Yes it is! I know it is. It's just that... after the way I treated you... about that stuff. I just don't know if I'd be able to handle it without..."
  655. >She starts to tear up.
  656. >She still had issues over that month she put you through.
  657. >Honestly, you weren't sure if you were ready to try that again either.
  658. >You pull her up to sit with you and wipe away the forming tears.
  659. "Listen to me. You're not that person anymore. You've said it yourself. I know it and you know it. You don't have to worry about taking things too slow. I like slow! Slow is good! We've got plenty of time to get there. And when we're ready, we'll know. Okay?"
  660. >She smiles and nods.
  661. >"Okay."
  662. "Remember, you're not that Sunset anymore..."
  663. >You run your hand through her hair and look her in the eyes.
  664. "You're MY Sunset."
  665. >She smiles wide and grabs you into a hug.
  666. >You welcome it and stay like that.
  667. >She looks over to the tv.
  668. >"This is a really cute ending credits and song."
  669. "Yeah, it's one of my favorites."
  670. >You both watch the remainder of the credits and finally come to the ending screen.
  671. >To the dismay of Sunset.
  672. >"No way."
  673. "Yes! See! There I am!"
  674. >You point to the ending screen showing Peach standing between Mario AND Luigi.
  675. "I get the princess too!"
  676. >"No! NO! She's my princess! I'm not sharing!"
  677. >She starts to fuss and wiggle out of the hug, trying to reach for the player 1 controller that's on the ground, as if it means getting hot lovin' from Peach.
  678. >You notice this, and fight to hold her back into the hug, while also reaching for the controller, which causes her to start laughing.
  679. "You have to! You have to share her with me!"
  680. >"Noooooooo!"
  681. >As you both bicker over the most ridiculous thing, with only the ending screen to light the room, holding and playing with the girl you never imagined you'd fall in love with, you wonder how it came to be this way.
  682. >You don't know, but you realize how lucky and thankful you are that it did.
  683.
  684. END.
