- [2016/08/10 12:37] Zevoa: Arms laden with books, Zevoa came out of the stacks with the intent to set herself down on one of the comfortable couches in the central foyer - a benefit of being a library employee, of sorts, was the ability to read when the building was less than occupied. Her brows lifted in slight surprise when she saw the seated man, though, and while she wavered for a moment or two about assisting him or ignoring him, she eventually decided to set her pile down and give the man a smile. "Can I help you with something, Sir?"
- [2016/08/10 12:46] Dr. Clemens Vinter sat at his lonesome, enjoying the quiet of a library otherwise empty of people. With the likelihood of staff being on a short coffee break, Clemens occupied himself with a hardcover book and a steaming cup of hot chocolate, gingerly sipping away while he leafed through. When a feminine voice spoke up, however, the alabaster head looked up. After a short pause of scrutiny his expression bloomed with a hospitable smile as he nodded his greeting. "Why yes, actually," he said while closing the book he was reading, leaning in to place it atop of the coffee table. "There's this particular book I'm searching for. The Sack of Rome, to be exact."
- [2016/08/10 12:51] Zevoa: "I see. And do you have a name for the author of this book, or a general idea of when it was published?" Zevoa wandered over to the history section - not her forte, generally, but that hardly mattered. "Have a particular interest with roman history, do you?"
- [2016/08/10 12:57] Sarah does a little dance as they head past the windmill and look up at the big brick building. She tosses a glance to the sexy piece of ass following her and waits until he is at her side. A careful pair of teal eyes glance around to see if anyone in the area might be the type to try and fight them but the people passing by on the street don't pay them so much notice. She shakes the can in her hand and watches him do the same before they get to work.
- [2016/08/10 12:58] Dr. Clemens Vinter straightened out in his seat, readjusting himself until he sat in a comfort to his liking. Lowering his arms, he wove fingers over the steaming cup, forsaking his hot beverage in favour of bestowing his full attention on the librarian. "It is by Alexander Stille. And if I remember correctly, it should be from somewhere in the 2000s." Whether he was flipping through his repertoire of fitting responses, it took the alabaster head a moment or two to collect his thoughts and answer. "Not so much its history than the way it evolved to be what it is now." A flare of irony struck and had him pause. "Or -was- before all disaster struck, I suppose."
- [2016/08/10 12:58] Hunter watches as the paint flows from the can and dyes the brick and glass red, a large smirk forming on his face. Odd eyes look over to the hot blond to his right, humming a rather cheerful tune despite this mischief. Or perhaps that was exactly why he was humming. The words formed, his half joining her own as it and, when they had finished, stepped backward in tandem to appreciate their art. His lips would move as he read it silently, 'We're Watching.'
- [2016/08/10 13:06] Zevoa: "I see. Let me just.. take.. a moment..." Glancing over the books on the shelf, the sound of Mrs. Higgins' distinct clearing of her throat attracting the woman's attention. Zevoa went up to the desk to see what the librarian wanted; a hushed discussion commenced, with Zevoa glancing back at the shelf, then to the librarian, then to the man. "The.. biography?" A doubtful look back at Higgins, then back to the pale man.
- [2016/08/10 13:09] Sarah tosses the spray can in the closest garbage can and pulls a vampire fang out from her pocket and sticks it to the fast drying paint. It'll hold long enough for security or someone to find it there no doubt. It shouldn't be long because someone does their rounds, smells the paint, or notices it from the inside of the window. She turns on a heel and reaches out to Hunter. "What other trouble should we get into tonight?"
- [2016/08/10 13:10] Chance Phoenix (chancephoenix) as he sat dazed off into his own little world, he didn't hear the two speaking inside of the library. What was basically an imprisonment had driven him to boredom that one pondered all that their life was, and the reason that he would never enjoy normal food again. Oh god how he would kill for a taco sometimes. He didn't notice the two outside of the window at first until he caught the sound of something out of place. Pulled from his thoughts, he pushed himself out of his chair and walked past the shelves of books to the last window on the right where he saw the fresh red of paint sprayed over the surface. He almost ran outside to shoo off what he figured were a couple of hoodlums before he focused on the letters. Though a few were cut off by the window edges, and the writing appeared backwards to him, it only took a second for him to get the message and his blood would run cold....er. He focused his eyes on the two knowing that they couldn't see inside, studying them for a moment. The choice to do this right beside him...did they somehow know? He didn't recognize either of them from his visit to the Lotus, though something pulled at him that he couldn't grasp. Could this be a warning? Or could it be agents of the darkness?" He would lock his eyes on the woman, his expression unsure before he turned his head and called back over his shoulder, "I think someone has a message for us..." Or perhaps a message for him. He wondered if as he stood there, did they know somehow.
- [2016/08/10 13:13] Hunter would not be able to stifle the chuckle that rose at her finishing touch. When she stepped forward, his arms would encircle her, a hand squeezing at her round bottom before he kissed her deeply. With a shrug and a boyish smirk, he would answer, "Up to you...baby." He chuckled again when those teal eyes would narrow at him. Oh, she was so cute when she was pouty.
- [2016/08/10 13:16] Sarah leans up on her heels to return that kiss. "Let's go get food, yeah? Food sounds fuckin' amazing!" She loops their arms and begins to walk down the street towards the Bistro with her man in tow. "Pancakes? Or something else delicious?" Their voices naturally fade away as they leave---oblivious to Chance being right inside the window they had chosen.
- [2016/08/10 13:16] DamienKincaid had gotten a message from downstairs about some rift raft outside the library spray painting its walls and headed downstairs to check it out. Moving towards the windows he would open it up. His gaze luminescing spotting the pair outdoors. He would spot Zevoa and Chance. Looking over them and to those outside. Checking back and whispering to them both. "We need do cadch dem....dey are using illusion magic....dey are nod who dey say dey are..." He would head towards the door.
- [2016/08/10 13:17] Zevoa: "Chance.. will you help this gentleman? I'll assist Mister Kincaid." She smiled at the pale man. "Excuse me, sir.."
- [2016/08/10 13:17] Dr. Clemens Vinter took a moment to sip from his lukewarm chocolate, and upon realisation that it'd cooled down began to drink from it with larger gulps, all until he'd emptied it to the last drop. Sighing, he worked his lips around for that telltale feeling of sticky residue, but found none. As he placed the emptied cup on the coffee table, "It's a biography on Silvio Berlusconi, yes." His baby blue gaze lowered upon the forsaken book he'd read moments ago while... just to pull up when a man he hadn't noticed before called out into the library, disturbing its trademark tranquility with a sense of alarm. Pushing up to full height, the alabaster head slowly worked his way over, unaware for as long it took his gaze to trace the backwards letters through the window. Intrigued, Clemens took a moment to read the faces closest to him, watching how the disturbance altered their moods and demeanour. Eventually, he took on a tame expression of surprise of his own.
- [2016/08/10 13:19] DamienKincaid nodded in agreement with Zevoa he would not risk chance and for the first time noticed Dr.Clemens. "Please excuse us....we have some business do dake care of..." He would head out the door and down the block to follow the couple.
- [2016/08/10 13:20] Dr. Clemens Vinter nodded his farewell even if his curious gaze followed them long after they'd left the building.
- [2016/08/10 13:21] Chance Phoenix (chancephoenix) watching as Damien opened the window, he could make out their words with his exceptional hearing. After seeing the fang placed into the fresh paint, he knew exactly who was behind it. He heard them mention the Bistro and turned to follow Damien before Zev stopped him and asked him to stay. His expression went cold as his eyes narrowed and venom filled his voice. "The people that call a hunt on me and have put this coven in danger are out there, and you want me to just sit here? I am not a baby you need to protect. I can handle myself. Sofia chose me as her bodyguard for a damn good reason and I..." Hearing Damien then agree, his jaw would snap shut, seething with anger.
- [2016/08/10 13:22] Zevoa: "Sofia chose you as her bodyguard? We'll talk about that later." Zevoa, for one, was getting tired of sulky vampires, and she shot Chance a look before following Damien.
- [2016/08/10 13:26] Dr. Clemens Vinter was left with a man whose energy had a way of creeping into his muscles, tightening them. Instead of squaring his shoulders, however, Clemens motioned for the central foyer with a gentleman's sway. "How about we ease our nerves with a warm cup of coffee?" he asked, his voice polite and his smile politer. "Being all frayed nerves isn't exactly what they make it out to be." Whether his light sense of humour was a way of helping the man unwind, Clemens took it upon himself to take a seat of his own as a way of letting the other know he wasn't going anywhere — an invitation of sorts.
- [2016/08/10 13:29] Chance Phoenix (chancephoenix) he turned his eyes to the man that he was asked to assist, and fought the urge to run off himself regardless of his orders and the way Zev had spoken to him. He would just snap a quick response to the man before he stormed out of the library. "I am sorry, I know nothing about the books. I am ironically here for security. With that being said, I have a job to do no matter what they have to say." He would point at Mrs. Higgins sitting nearby. "She will help you with whatever you need. I have a few teeth that I need to pull. Excuse me." Nodding to Mrs. Higgins that had turned to him at the mention of her name, he gestured with his head towards the Doctor. "Please help this gentleman. I have something to take care of." Before she could open her mouth in protest, he was out of the door.
- [2016/08/10 13:34] Dr. Clemens Vinter (kenta.moriguchi)'s expression remained steadfast, locked in that arrangement of hospitality that, in the context of the situation, almost felt -off-. Left with Mrs, Higgings, only when the speeding vampire was out of the door did his expression twitch — a glitch in the system easily repaired. "Then don't let me keep you," he muttered at the ghost of the man long gone, reaching for another cup to nourish his fouled mood.
- [2016/08/10 13:43] Miho Nonohara is just walking about, and she happens to come across Matt on the very same place he was in the other day. "Oh, hello there!", she said, giving him a friendly wave.
- [2016/08/10 13:45] Matthos de Santis (alric.bravin): This seemed to be his accustomed place right now. The farthest he could go without a specific destination in mind, at any rate. When Miho appeared in his line of sight, he gave her a small smile. "Afternoon."
- [2016/08/10 13:47] Dr. Clemens Vinter slipped out of the library while holding a gladstone leather bag in one hand — trademark of a doctor, one might say. Instead of lingering, however, the pale man offered the two nearby a nod as he continued on his way, not staying long enough to hear much of their conversation.
- [2016/08/10 13:49] Miho Nonohara put her hands on her shorts pockets. "Funny how you seem to be standing at the exact same spot you were the other day. That...Ended up on a bit of a crazy note with somebody yelling bomb and all", she noticed a doctor leaving the library as well, which she politely waved back to as he passed by.
- [2016/08/10 13:51] Matthos de Santis (alric.bravin): "Yeah, well, I'm kinda on a tight leash right now." He glanced over at the person exiting the library, and immediately tensed. He'd been about to say something else, but it wiped from his mind as he watched the pale haired man. "What are you doing here, James?" he said, his brows furrowing deeply.
- [2016/08/10 13:53] Dr. Clemens Vinter did not get to leave after all — when a man's voice called over to him, even if by the wrong name he saw cause to put a stop to his stride. Turning, expression alive with a pleasant smile, "I believe you've mistaken me for someone else." Whatever James sounded like, looked like, it would be an odd coincidence if they aligned.
- [2016/08/10 13:58] Miho Nonohara tilted her head. "That...Uh...That's odd. What do you mean by that?", she looks at the interaction between him and the other man with a blink, a bit surprised at the hostility.
- [2016/08/10 13:59] Matthos de Santis (alric.bravin): He felt like a too-tightly coiled spring, his eyes blazing with...well, whatever it was died the minute the man turned around. Even at this distance, he looked nothing like *him*. The voice clenched it. "Yes. It...would seem that I have. I'm very sorry," he said, clearing his throat. And now that he knew, the differences were obvious. *He* would never grow his hair out that long...would he? "Just from that angle, you looked an awful lot like...an old friend." He glanced back at Miho, and exhaled. "Long story."
- [2016/08/10 14:04] Dr. Clemens Vinter 's baby blues narrowed in piqued interest. The pause that overtook his very frame lasted for a second or two, a multitude of thoughts doing their rounds as he studied the pair. Curiosity killed the cat, but he felt inclined to venture forth regardless, smile as strong as the moment he turned to face them. "Allow me to introduce myself," he chimed in, extending a hand for whoever felt like shaking it first. "Clemens Vinter. A pleasure, both of you." Something about the solidity of his smile seemed off after a while, like it was borne more from habit than authenticity.
- [2016/08/10 14:08] Miho Nonohara tilts her head slightly. "There is....Something unusual to you, Matt. I can feel it. You have a lot going on", she turned to Clemens once he introduced himself. "Oh. I'm Miho, hajimemashite", she said, shaking his hand, bowing slightly.
- [2016/08/10 14:09] Matthos de Santis (alric.bravin) reached out, and took his hand after Miho. "Matt de Santis," he said, hoping that wouldn't come back to bite him in the ass. "A pleasure to meet you, despite the awkward start." He grinned slightly, looking back to Miho one more time. "You think? Though there's nothing more unusual about me than there is about the next guy."
- [2016/08/10 14:18] Dr. Clemens Vinter took Miho's hand in a shorter shake than that of Matt — it was almost intrusive, the duration it lasted. All the while he studied the blond's expression, trying to catch every little twitch otherwise overlooked by a casual glimpse. Clemens did let go eventually, leaving behind an alabaster white card with engraved lettering of gold. Turning to the woman, "You must be a long way from home, Miho." While he didn't seem to speak Japanese, he recognized the language and likely associated her with the Land of the Rising Sun. As for Matt, "You sound like you could use a listening ear, Matt. If you feel like venting, do give me a call." His solid smile twitched, stretching a bit wider into his cheeks to shape genuine dimples. As for the card; it spelled his name and his occupation, psychiatrist, as well as the number to his mobile phone.
- [2016/08/10 14:22] Miho Nonohara nods. "Well, I can sense it in your ki. Your energy is definitely off. Seriously, meditation will do you good. If you don't want to go to the dojo, I can also like, go to the library, it's quiet enough inside", she turns to the doctor. "Well, home is just down the street, actually", she smiled, she considered herself fully a resident of this city now.
- [2016/08/10 14:29] Matthos de Santis (alric.bravin): Hiss brows furrowed again as the man didn't release his grip. "Honestly, opening my mouth has gotten me into a lot of trouble, so..." he looked down, mildly surprised to see the card where the hand had been, but he lifted it up, his eyes scanning the writing. "Dr. Vinter, I might have to...You know what, I'll think about it," he said, looking up as he flashed the man a grin. "And...Miho, I don't know. I guess we can give it a shot. And what the fuck is Ki?"
- [2016/08/10 14:33] Dr. Clemens Vinter straightened out, correcting his clothes with a few mild pats to appear as dandy as he could. "You needn't worry about that, Matt. The privacy of my clients is very important to me. You have my word." As for the subject of ki, "As much as I would enjoy to listen to your explanation, Miho, I have to take my leave. Do take care, both of you." Unless stopped, the alabaster head took his leave the same way as first intended; towards the Nexus.
- 2016/08/10 14:49] Miho Nonohara smirks. "Well, ki is the thing that moves us, the thing that connects us. Ki is the energy of life. Your body flows ki, much like blood, through your veins, through your nerves, through every cell and every pore. Someone trained, or perhaps even gifted like me, can tap onto this energy, and even command its flow. But you, you have something clogged in there, it's stopping the flow, and its causing you grief, and pain", she closes her eyes. "Thus...Meditation, relaxation. If your body and mind are sound, these ki imbalances go away over time, like any other disease", she turns to Clemens as he walks out. "Sayonara".
- [2016/08/10 14:51] Matthos de Santis (alric.bravin) inclined his head at the doctor. "See you, doc," he said, his lips twisting into what turned out to be a very temporary smile, because when he looked back over at Miho, it vanished, replaced with an owlish blink. "While I agree that meditation might relax me, my pain and grief isn't caused by Ki. Sorry. That's firmly rooted in the real world."
