  1. The stepping stone from practicing confirms in training mode and landing them in matches is having your string and your mixup planned from the moment (or just before the moment) you gain frame advantage.
  2.
  3. Example:
  4.
  5. I do a hyperhop CD with King, which you block. I have already decided I am going for a running low, trying to catch you standing up (teching a throw that isn't there, or trying to jump out of the blockstun). I will do the string cr.B, cr.A. Using those two hits I will confirm into st.B xx slide on hit, or go into some form of repeated pressure on block, such as st.CD xx LK venom strike, st.B twice, or another hop CD.
  6.
  7. I knew I would do all of this the moment I hyper hopped at you, so the only thing stopping me from landing this combo if it hits is my training or lack of it. There are no surprises. There are reversals and backdashes to consider, but that means I might make a different decision next time, and that doesn't constitute a failure to confirm. By having your mixups and strings planned ahead of time (and not just pressing buttons at close range, hoping to maybe get a hit to confirm), the hit-confirm itself will be more distinct from any possible on-screen events, and you can focus your mental energy on it because you can't be distracted by "odd", "weird", or unseen circumstances.
