––BACKGROUND ; Jang Sumin was born in Seoul, south korea, in a family of 4, consisting of her mother, father and older brother who is 3 years older than her. While growing up, she had a passion for music and started learning the violin at the age of 7 and stopped when she became a trainee at 13. She loved watching idols perform on stage, she had always dreamed of being in their shoes but her parents wouldn't allow it since they knew how hard it was to become an idol. After tons of persuasion, they finally let her audition for SM and to their amazement, she was accepted and officially became a trainee.
