  1. Hello, and welcome to the Jak and Daxter Archive. This short video will hopefully get you accustomed to the website’s content and its goals. The purpose of this website is to document and preserve all Jak and Daxter related releases, and be a resource for all Jak and Daxter fans, whether you’re a Jak collector, or just a casual fan. Let’s go on a short tour, and we’ll explore what content can be expected. If we look at the top of the site, we have these drop down menus for all the games. We’ll use the first game as an example, to show what each game has to offer. The first thing in this drop down menu is Jak and Daxter (game). This page lists all different retail versions of the game. They’re also split into black label and greatest hits releases. Click on any of the blue links to view that page, where there’s high quality scans of the box art, and discs. If we go back to this drop down list, and click on demos, we see a list of almost every demo released for the game. If we click on this Japanese demo, we’ll see there’s a link to the showcase video I did for it, as well as a download link for the demo. Almost every disc on this site, except for any retail copies, are up for everyone to download. For all the demos, you can play these yourself using the ps2 emulator PCSX2. If we come back to the drop down menu, we’ll see strategy guides. Here we have every strategy guide released for the game, and that’s the same for every game that has a strategy guide. These pages only have scans of the covers and spine, but a pipe dream of mine is to one day have every guide scanned, and have the Japanese ones translated. This is incredibly unlikely, as it would be very time consuming and expensive, if at all possible, but maybe one day. Back on the drop down menu we have statues. For the first and second game, this is blank, as I don’t own any of the statues released for those games, so for the sake of this video, we’ll look at the Jak 3 statues. If we click on the dark jak statue, we’ll see scans of the box, and pictures of the statue itself. The last page on the drop down menu is press kits. Unfortunately, I only own the Daxter press kit, but I do have some press material which is shown on these pages. For the first game, we have this press disc, which you can download too. This basic format for the drop down menu is the same for all the games. The “other” drop down menu has everything else for the site. First up is limited run games. Here is where all the scans and downloads of the limited run games collectors editions reside, there’s a lot of content here. Next is the other page. This page is where any random piece from my collection will go, separated into games, and general series items. To give an example, Jak 2 has the Jak 2 skateboard, Jak X has this promo vinyl, and for the not game specific items, we have the remasters, and the movie dvds that were released. This entire “other” section will likely host some very interesting pieces, so keep an eye on this part. Next from the other menu we have downloads. This is where every download link on the site is held, so you don’t have to navigate everything just to download something. Next is updates. This is where I log all the changes on the site. Say for instance you visit the site, then months later you visit again and want to see if there was any additions. Well, you can just check the updates page to see if there’s anything new, or anything in particular that you’re interested in. Lastly we have the about page, which just gives a brief overview of what the site is for, who I am, and how to reach me if need be.

  3. So, I think that’s it for this brief introduction to the site. I hope you enjoy what I have to offer. Keep in mind, this site is forever expanding and updating, so it may never be fully complete, but I’ll try to complete it as much as I can. With that being said, this is entirely being worked on in my spare time, so I don’t have as much time as I used to to update the site regularly, so I apologize for that. Anyway, that’s enough from me, thanks for watching this video, and I hope you enjoy the archive
