  1. The woman on the bed sits up, her long dress fading from sight and into a shining golden breastplate. Her empty hand grasps a greatsword, and she narrows her eyes at the party. "Return that to me, now. It is not yours to take." Grimm instinctively held the book closer to him. Now that he was close, he could see the woman's fangs. "RETURN THE BOOK TO ME!"
  2.
  3. Her eyes shone with a white light, and the party's vision dimmed.
  4.
  5. Koth awoke to see a man sitting on a stone, etching into his arm dark ink using a thing, long piece of sharpened metal. He drew the face of a demon into his arm. "Knowledge begets knowledge," the man said. "I am looking for you, and the rest of the order of the light and shadow. All ink will be mine." He looked up from his work, and Koth could see his entire face was tatoo'd to look like that of a snarling demon. "None will escape me."
  6.
  7. Koth shook his head and found himself back in the room, him and his party all bewildered. "So, that is it. You've come seeking MY treasure for your petty war. You won't be leaving with it. You won't be leaving with your lives." She raised her sword, and the battle began.
