Alexi

There are few lifestyles that could be considered poorer than that of the Sand Fisher. Dry arid climate, with no luxuries to their name, spending out their entire lives in drab, small wooden huts, surrounded only by fishing equipment. But in all lifestyles, even the drab ones, there are those that are considered the best. The professionals. The protégés. The best of the best. The champions. And for sandfishing, that champion is Alexi.
Alexi is a strong and sturdy young man, about 6 feet tall, with sun-tanned skin. His most notable characteristic is his massive mane of bright orange hair, which tends to stand on it’s end, and has two long braids running down both shoulders. Alexi’s clothes are minimal and colorful, as opposed to the traditional tan robes his people wear.
Alexi is loud, brash, egoistic, competitive and jolly, but most of all, he is dissatisfied with his culture, and aims to change it by making a name for himself. He is aggressive when fishing, and does not fish for food, but rather for glory, and purposefully hunts down the largest and strongest sandfish available. He has multiple tools at his disposal, but most notably, he has a custom-made metal fishing pole with steel wire, and as backup, a harpoon.
He has many supporters, and just as many opposers, but that doesn’t matter to him. His dream is starting to come true. People are talking about him. It took some time before his name got out there, but it happened. People have started to come from other parts of the country to see him fish. His name has reached important people. He’s started to become wealthier. But most importantly, he’s inspired others to follow in his footsteps.
Younger people in particular have begun to look to new ideas for fishing, such as magic. Others have begun to capitalize on this newfound fame, however small it may be at the moment. Others still have begun to look into other potential resources out in the wastes.
Of course, despite the up and coming challengers, Alexi’s strength and talent appears to be unmatched when it comes to fishing. Due to his boisterous nature, a rumor has spread that one of his ancestor’s may have been an Oni. Alexi denies this claim.
