  3. What is Pokemon Mystery File?
  4. Time travel, aliens, UFOs, parallel universes, ancient ruins.
  5.
  6. There are urban legends and rumors that Pokemon are involved in
  7.
  8. some way with such things. Are they really just rumors?
  9.
  10. Specialists in the field have gathered to have full discussions
  11.
  12. on these fascinating mysteries!
  13.
  14. Who's words to believe is up to you...
  15.
  16. Ruin Maniac Sakuji
  17. He loves the history involved in ruins, and studies ancient
  18.
  19. ruins and cave paintings from around the world. He believes that
  20.
  21. the secrets of these ancient ruins are tied Pokemon. He is
  22.
  23. especially interested in the Unown writings.
  24.
  25. Occult Maniac Hitomi
  26. She has had in interest in the mysteries of the world since she
  27.
  28. was a young girl, and now researches the occult daily. She
  29.
  30. especially loves Ghost-type Pokemon. She's a huge fan of
  31.
  32. PokeStar Studios' Invaders movie series.
  33.
  34. Occult Skeptic Prof. Oonuki
  35. He is a researcher that forwards that occult phenomenon can be
  36.
  37. explained rationally with science. He teaches physics in
  38.
  39. college, but because his handwriting is so sloppy his students
  40.
  41. often joke that it's "harder to read than Unown glyphs."
  42.
  43. The Elgyem picture taken 50 years ago.
  44. The existence of Elgyem was never confirmed until around 50
  45.
  46. years ago. Because of this, it's rumored that they came from a
  47.
  48. UFO that crashed in the desert. This picture taken 50 years ago
  49.
  50. is rumored to be that of a freshly captured Elygem who came from
  51.
  52. the UFO. In actuality, this picture was later determined to be
  53.
  54. that of a husband and wife trainer couple taking a walk with
  55.
  56. their Elgyem. There is still much mystery surrounding Elgyem.
  57.
  58.
  59. The key to solving the world's mysteries is held by Pokemon!
  60. Approaching the four great mysteries of Pokemon!
  61.
  62. Ancient ruins, time travel, rumors of extraterrestrials - there
  63.
  64. exist many strange things in this world that can't be explained
  65.
  66. by science alone. The idea that all of these are deeply
  67.
  68. connected to the Pokemon that we're familiar with is one
  69.
  70. commonly shouted on high. And so our staff is investigating
  71.
  72. these supernatural occurrences, especially those called the
  73.
  74. mysteries of the world, from all many different angles. And
  75.
  76. there what came to our attention, unsurprisingly, was the
  77.
  78. existence of Pokemon!
  79. No matter angle you look from, the existence of Pokemon holds
  80.
  81. the key to the world's mysteries... Let's reveal the whole
  82.
  83. picture!
  84.
  85. Facilitator - Ruin Maniac Sakuji
  86. Commentator - Occult Maniac Hitomi
  87. Commentator - Occult Skeptic Prof. Oonuki
  88.
  89. File 1 - Time Travel x Pokemon
  90.
  91. How are Pokemon connected to the passage of time!?
  92.
  93. Being able to travel across time may be one of humanity's
  94.
  95. biggest dreams. Rumors of time travelers have been a mainstay in
  96.
  97. occult circles. Will the mystery behind Pokemon and time be
  98.
  99. uncovered!?
  100.
  101. Hitomi: Among Pokemon, there exist those with the power to
  102.
  103. control and cross time.
  104. Prof. Oonuki: How stupid. If you're saying that Pokemon can
  105.
  106. travel across time, then show me a Pokemon that's come from the
  107.
  108. future.
  109.
  110. The story of the Celebi and the trainer that crossed time.
  111. Everyone here likely knows this story.
  112. A lucky trainer who came into possession of a Celebi visited the
  113.
  114. shrine in the Johto region's Ilex Forest. The trainer's
  115.
  116. surroundings suddenly changed, and they found themselves
  117.
  118. standing in a place they've never been. In that moment the radio
  119.
  120. on the trainer's PokeGear started a broadcast from 3 years ago.
  121. One of our staff who comes from the Johto region said that this
  122.
  123. story is widely known in Johto.
  124.
  125. The Time Travel Pokemon Celebi
  126. A Pokemon said to have traveled across time from the future. It
  127.
  128. is said to only appear in peaceful times, and that if ones sees
  129.
  130. a Celebi that means that one can look forward to a bright
  131.
  132. future. It's said that in the Johto region's Ilex Forest there
  133.
  134. were a Celebi and trainer that crossed time.
  135.
  136. Sakuji: The Ilex Forest is a large forest near Azalea Town in
  137.
  138. Johto. There is believed to be a time traveling god that watches
  139.
  140. over the forest, and it is said that if one desecrates the
  141.
  142. shrine in the forest, that person will be spirited away.
  143. Hitomi: Celebi has the power to cross time. This is even said in
  144.
  145. the Pokedex.
  146. Oonuki: The number of trainers to meet Celebi is extremely low,
  147.
  148. so isn't this nothing more than hearsay? This person says they
  149.
  150. caught Ho-oh and Lugia, went to a shrine in the middle of the
  151.
  152. night, and other nonsense. It's suspect that anyone has even
  153.
  154. ever caught Celebi.
  155. Hitomi: There are other Pokemon who control time. Such as
  156.
  157. Dialga.
  158.
  159. The Temporal Pokemon Dialga
  160. The legendary Pokemon said to control the flow of time. It's
  161.
  162. said that when Dialga was born, time began to move, and when its
  163.
  164. heart took its first beat, time began to flow. With full control
  165.
  166. of the flow of time, it can freely move between past and future.
  167.
  168. Sakuji: Dialga is said to reside on Mt. Coronet in the Sinnoh
  169.
  170. region. It, together with the legendary Pokemon Palkia who
  171.
  172. controls space, are the gods talked about in the Sinnoh region's
  173.
  174. mythology.
  175. Hitomi: Dialga can even use its time manipulation powers in its
  176.
  177. moves. Its move Roar of Time attacks the target with enough
  178.
  179. power to distort time. Would professor like to try taking that
  180.
  181. attack? You might end up in the past or future. Ufufufu...
  182. Oonuki: ...I refuse!
  183.
  184. Among Pokemon, there truly are those that can control time such
  185.
  186. as these. It could be said that with either of these two Pokemon
  187.
  188. than can manipulate time, for perhaps with some other Pokemon
  189.
  190. that can cross time, it wouldn't be fantasy for someone to
  191.
  192. travel across the ages...
  193.
  194.
  195. File 2 - Extraterrestrial Life x Pokemon
  196.
  197. There are a surprising number of Pokemon related to space!
  198. Since long ago, people have wondered if there exists lifeforms
  199.
  200. similar to humans outside the lands we live in. There has yet to
  201.
  202. be discovered any evidence of the existence of extraterrestrial
  203.
  204. life or society. But could evidence of such things exist in the
  205.
  206. shadows of Pokemon right in front of use?
  207.
  208. Hitomi: When the subject of Pokemon who live the closest to
  209.
  210. outer space come up, my thoughts go first to Rayquaza and
  211.
  212. Minior. Both live in the ozone layer between the land and space.
  213.
  214. The Sky High Pokemon Rayquaza
  215. A legendary Pokemon said to flown through the ozone layer for
  216.
  217. hundreds of millions of years, feeding off of meteorites that
  218.
  219. enter of atmosphere. It's said use the energy taken from the
  220.
  221. meteors and stored in its body to Mega Evolve. There exists
  222.
  223. legend in the Hoenn region of Rayquaza stopping the battle
  224.
  225. between Groudon and Kyogre.
  226.
  227. The Meteor Pokemon Minior
  228. A Pokemon born from mutated nanoparticles in the ozone layer.
  229.
  230. Originally living in the ozone layer, it falls to the surface
  231.
  232. after its shell grows heavy. It lives off of particles in the
  233.
  234. air, the contents of which determine the color of its body.
  235.
  236. Oonuki: Even if both of these Pokemon live in the ozone layer,
  237.
  238. that doesn't mean they're in outer space.
  239. Hitomi: There are other Pokemon with some connection to space,
  240.
  241. such as Clefairy. I once went the Kanto region a long while ago
  242.
  243. to see the Clefairy's dance on Mt. Moon. It was a very
  244.
  245. mystifying sight...
  246.
  247. The Fairy Pokemon Clefairy
  248. Since long ago, Clefairy have been observed to gather and dance
  249.
  250. on night when the moon is full, and that an unusual magnetic
  251.
  252. field surrounds the area when this occurs. Additionally,
  253.
  254. Clefairy evolve into Clefable through the use of a Moon Stone,
  255.
  256. and wild Clefairy have been found holding such stones. Because
  257.
  258. of this, many people believe that Clefairy have some connection
  259.
  260. to the moon.
  261.
  262. Hitomi: Could the Moon Stones hold some sort of cosmic power in
  263.
  264. them?
  265. Oonuki: But there's been no reports of sighting of Clefairy or
  266.
  267. Clefable on the moon. And it's still unclear if Moon Stones are
  268.
  269. truly stones fallen from the moon. To stop this occult talk from
  270.
  271. spreading, we need to analyze Clefairy's biology and the stones'
  272.
  273. makeup someday!
  274. Hitomi: It seems you won't accept that there are any Pokemon in
  275.
  276. space... So then, how will you feel about Deoxys?
  277.
  278. The DNA Pokemon Deoxys
  279. A mythical Pokemon that mutated from a virus on a meteor from
  280.
  281. space. It has high intelligence and control over psychic powers.
  282.
  283. It's said that the crystal structure in its chest is its brain,
  284.
  285. and its been seen to shoot lasers from it. It can change between
  286.
  287. four specialized forms.
  288.
  289. Hitomi: How's that? If even a virus can become a Pokemon, who
  290.
  291. knows what other Pokemon could be out there in the galaxy.
  292. Oonuki: Even if there were Pokemon who live out in space, none
  293.
  294. would have the intelligence to start a civilization.
  295. Hitomi: There is a Pokemon said to come from a crashed UFO.
  296.
  297. The Cerebral Pokemon Elgyem
  298. A Pokemon rumored to have come a UFO that crash landed in the
  299.
  300. desert 50 years ago. No one had even seen the Pokemon before
  301.
  302. then. It uses its psychic power to put pressure on the target's
  303.
  304. brain, causing a headache.
  305.
  306. Hitomi: I have occult friends that swear they've seen a UFO
  307.
  308. crash out in the desert. There just might be Pokemon that can
  309.
  310. build UFOs.
  311. Oonuki: That's ridiculous! Besides, there are many reports of
  312.
  313. people misidentifying Pokemon as UFOs.
  314.
  315. The Magnet Area Pokemon Magnezone
  316. A Pokemon evolved from Magneton due to a strange electromagnetic
  317.
  318. field. It emits magnetism from its three units. It flies through
  319.
  320. the skies broadcasting strange radio waves, and is said to
  321.
  322. receive unknown broadcasts back. There are many reports of
  323.
  324. people mistaking Magnezone for UFOs.
  325.
  326. Sakuji: Certainly, if you look at a silhouette of Magnezone, it
  327.
  328. looks like a UFO... (Also, I want to introduce another phenomena
  329.
  330. that follows along this theme...)
  331. Hitomi: Think of it the other way around, Magnezone might have
  332.
  333. some connection to UFOs. The possibilities that visitors from
  334.
  335. another world may have created Pokemon with a similar shape to
  336.
  337. their vehicles is not zero...
  338. Oonuki: There's no aliens in the first place. If there are then
  339.
  340. show my some.
  341. Sakuji: Eeeh... This become such a heated debate from the start.
  342.
  343. That's good, so I would like to introduce another topic. There's
  344.
  345. a story that someone met an alien in the Alola region's Haina
  346.
  347. desert.
  348.
  349. The old man from space!?
  350. There's an old man in the Haina desert who has used up
  351.
  352. everything. He's even forgotten who he is and how to return
  353.
  354. home. He's searching for a nostalgic Pokemon in the corner of
  355.
  356. his memories.
  357. Sol... Luna... Is what he says he wants to meet. Have him meet a
  358.
  359. Solrock or Lunatone and he regains his memories. This old man
  360.
  361. says he received a cosmic pulse from Solrock and Lunatone 30
  362.
  363. years ago, and entrusted that power to many other old men. Then,
  364.
  365. the old man said he can use power he received to return home to
  366.
  367. space, then disappeared into the sky.
  368.
  369. Hitomi: My occult friend looked into this event, and afterwords,
  370.
  371. couldn't find this old man anywhere. He must have really
  372.
  373. returned to space... The Pokemon Solrock and Lunatone that he
  374.
  375. received whatever power from might have some connection to
  376.
  377. aliens.
  378.
  379. The Meteorite Pokemon Solrock
  380. A Pokemon said to have fallen from space. It absorbs energy from
  381.
  382. sunlight and rotates its body to unleash light and heat.
  383.
  384. The Meteorite Pokemon Lunatone
  385. Because this Pokemon was found in a meteor crash site 40 years
  386.
  387. ago, it's theorized that it comes from space, but this is yet
  388.
  389. unproven. Its energy levels seem to be affected by the phases of
  390.
  391. the moon, and it's at its most active during full moons.
  392.
  393. Pokemon have been discovered in places no one though life could
  394.
  395. life, such as in magma and on the ocean floor. In regards to the
  396.
  397. mysteries of space, there are people such are Prof. Cozmo and
  398.
  399. the Mossdeep Space Center in Hoenn, and the researching at the
  400.
  401. Hokulani Observatory in Alola that work to uncover these
  402.
  403. mysteries. As research continues, the chance of finding yet
  404.
  405. undiscovered Pokemon in outer space is there.
  406. Perhaps emissaries from space have already arrived...
  407.
  408. File 3 - Parallel Worlds x Pokemon
  409.
  410. A way to travel to parallel dimensions!? Finding the truth
  411.
  412. behind the Distortion World!
  413. In the streets, there are things spoken of as if it's truth.
  414.
  415. "There is another dimension called the Distortion World." The
  416.
  417. Distortion World is said to be another world on the underside of
  418.
  419. this one. A strange dimensional space in which this world's
  420.
  421. logic doesn't apply. Time doesn't flow, and space is unfixed.
  422.
  423. And it's said that in this mysterious world, the legendary
  424.
  425. Pokemon Giratina resides.
  426.
  427. The key to entering the Distortion World, the legendary Pokemon!
  428. We caught word that there really exists a person who visited the
  429.
  430. Distortion World. Immediately we went to work and heard from a
  431.
  432. friend of a friend about this person who went to the Distortion
  433.
  434. World.
  435. "I heard from a friend of a friend that some group of no-goods
  436.
  437. called Team something-or-other were trying to destroy this world
  438.
  439. and create a new one, and it was discovered by accident. You can
  440.
  441. go there from the Spear Pillar at the summit of Sinnoh's Mt.
  442.
  443. Coronet. Though, apparently you need the power of both legendary
  444.
  445. Pokemon Dialga and Palkia"
  446.
  447. We quickly headed to the summit of Mt. Coronet in the Sinnoh
  448.
  449. region. At the summit were a large number of destroyed pillars,
  450.
  451. and markings that looks like a large creature had fought there.
  452.
  453. We tried many methods to call out to Dialga and Palkia, but we
  454.
  455. had no results. But as were leaving, one staff member yelled
  456.
  457. that they saw some black shadow by the alter. When we got closer
  458.
  459. to check we found nothing unusual, but perhaps this was the
  460.
  461. legendary Pokemon Giratina.
  462.
  463. What is the ruler of the Distortion World, Giratina?
  464. According to Sinnoh myth, Giratina was born at the same time as
  465.
  466. Dialga and Palkia. However, even when looking though ancient
  467.
  468. texts, no other information could be found, other than it was
  469.
  470. cast out of the world for its violence. After a tough journey,
  471.
  472. we found someone who, on conditions of anonymity, showed us a
  473.
  474. snapshot. This is the picture taken of someone said to have
  475.
  476. entered the Distortion World.
  477.
  478. The staff member who spotted the shadow at the Spear Pillar said
  479.
  480. that this picture was similar to the shadow they saw. The person
  481.
  482. who gave us this snapshot said that Giratina quietly watches
  483.
  484. this world, dragging those that break the laws of the world into
  485.
  486. the Distortion World to feel its wrath.
  487. We are still investigating the Distortion World and Giratina.
  488.
  489. Please stay tuned for future updates.
  490.
  491. Pokemon who have connections to other worlds.
  492. Upon investigating myths and texts on Pokemon, we have found
  493.
  494. other Pokemon said to have connections to other worlds.
  495. Bronzong has long been revered as a god of harvest, but it's
  496.
  497. said that it opens holes into other worlds to summon rain.
  498.
  499. Additionally, Mega Gengar can hide itself away in another
  500.
  501. dimension, and attack from there. Hoopa uses the rings on its
  502.
  503. body to take things from far away and teleport, but is
  504.
  505. unmistakably traveling through another dimension.
  506.
  507. And there have been Pokemon made artificially for the purpose of
  508.
  509. working in other dimensions. It's said that Porygon-Z was
  510.
  511. upgraded with the intent of it performing work in other
  512.
  513. dimensions of space. However, this failed for unknown reasons,
  514.
  515. causing its erratic behavior.
  516. This may have been a warning from those in other dimensions.
  517.
  518. That one mustn't step into these places...
  519.
  520. Sakuji: And so, this theme is "other dimensions". Since long
  521.
  522. ago, stories of other worlds have been unending across the
  523.
  524. world. But with solid evidence of this Distortion World, we are
  525.
  526. one step closer to the truth.
  527. Hitomi: Ufufu... The Distortion World, such a wonderful name...
  528.
  529. The laws of reality must even distort there...
  530. Oonuki: Going into other dimensions is simply laughable. This
  531.
  532. friend of a friend's story has a 97.8% chance of being a huge
  533.
  534. lie.
  535. Hitomi: ... What's the remaining 2.2%?
  536. Oonuki: That they misheard.
  537.
  538. Sakuji: So professor, I take it you believe other worlds don't
  539.
  540. exist?
  541. Oonuki: Of course. There's no scientific evidence of such
  542.
  543. things!
  544. Hitomi: Other worlds are close by, even if you don't realize...
  545. Oonuki: What's that? Where's the proof of that that, proof!
  546. Hitomi: Of course... Things in my room... Have just been sucked
  547.
  548. into another dimension before... I still can't find them...
  549. Oonuki: That's just you not cleaning your room!
  550. Sakuji: Well then! What about the picture of what appears to be
  551.
  552. Giratina? This has credibility to it.
  553. Hitomi: That right... That foreboding shadow... I want to call
  554.
  555. it into my room...
  556. Oonuki: Well that, that's certainly some type of trick. Photo
  557.
  558. editing software has gotten quite advanced. Yesterday, a picture
  559.
  560. of a UFO people were crying about turned out to be a doctored
  561.
  562. image of a Magnezone! Unforgivable!
  563. Hitomi: Hmm, Magnezone... isn't cute... Now Gengar...
  564. Oonuki: That has nothing do with it!
  565. Hitomi: Ah, what should I do to call Giratina to me? Maybe if I
  566.
  567. try to distort the laws of this world it'll come. Then I better
  568.
  569. start now. I'll curse this world to disappear.
  570. Oonuki: I, I don't believe in curses. I don't believe!
  571. Hitomi: Oh? Then I'll make professor disappear first. Let's see,
  572.
  573. the curse for erasing people is...
  574. Oonuki: Wait, there's a lecture I need to attend! I forgot about
  575.
  576. it! Excuse me!
  577. Sakuji: Wa- Wait Professor! ... He's already gone.
  578. Hitomi: Well then, I better start my preparations to call upon
  579.
  580. Giratina. Have a nice day!
  581. Sakuji: ... (I suppose there's nothing I can do but pray she
  582.
  583. doesn't succeed)
  584.
  585. However they do it, there are several Pokemon with the ability
  586.
  587. to access other worlds. At this time, there is no evidence of
  588.
  589. humans living in other worlds, but Pokemon such as Giratina
  590.
  591. already exists, and so talk of humans from parallel worlds might
  592.
  593. not be so farfetched.
  594.
  595. File 4 - Ancient Ruins x Pokemon
  596.
  597. Cultures more advanced then the present!? The mysteries behind
  598.
  599. ancient ruins!
  600. Ancient ruins dot many regions. Theories float around based
  601.
  602. things found here and there that there existed a "super ancient
  603.
  604. civilization" with technology more advanced than our own today.
  605. Ancient ruins are structures build in ancient times. The scale
  606.
  607. ranges from caves and towers to entire ancient cities, but
  608.
  609. something they all share in common are texts suggesting the
  610.
  611. existence of advanced technology, and the fact that they
  612.
  613. worshiped Pokemon as gods.
  614.
  615. Remaining ruins across different regions.
  616. Kanto (Sevii Islands)
  617. Tanoby Ruins
  618. Dotted Hole
  619.
  620. Johto
  621. Ruins of Alph
  622. Sinjoh Ruins (in land outside Johto)
  623.
  624. Hoenn
  625. Sky Pillar
  626. Sealed Chamber
  627. Desert Ruins
  628. Island Cave
  629. Ancient Tomb
  630.
  631. Sinnoh
  632. Solaceon Ruins
  633. Celestic Town's ancient ruins
  634. Spear Pillar
  635.
  636. Unova
  637. Abyssal Ruins
  638.
  639. Kalos
  640. Geosenge Town's ancient ruins
  641.
  642. Alola
  643. Ruins of Conflict
  644. Ruins of Life
  645. Ruins of Abundance
  646. Ruins of Hope
  647.
  648. Investigating the ancient ruins sunk to the ocean's floor!
  649. In order to uncover the mysteries behind the super ancient
  650.
  651. civilization, we decided to investigate the Abyssal Ruins in the
  652.
  653. Unova region. As the name implies, these ruins are deep on the
  654.
  655. ocean floor, and can only be reached by diving. As such, we got
  656.
  657. the help of a Pokemon trainer guide, and started filming. There
  658.
  659. we found shocking things!
  660. Ancient writings. On the walls of the Abyssal Ruins were carved
  661.
  662. mysterious ancient glyphs. According to our guide, these are
  663.
  664. clues pointing to a hidden treasure. Using the method of
  665.
  666. deciphering them we received from our guide, we could read them
  667.
  668. thus.
  669.
  670. We could read the writings, but the words remained confusing.
  671.
  672. Our guide only knew up this, and so we stopped our treasure hunt
  673.
  674. and continued investigation of the ruins. But the interior was
  675.
  676. complex, and strong currents would periodically push us back to
  677.
  678. the surface, slowing down the investigation considerably.
  679.
  680. Reaching the inner most area proved especially difficult. This
  681.
  682. may be the ancient people's devices to hide the existence of the
  683.
  684. super ancient civilization. We continued for several hours, but
  685.
  686. made no real progress in our investigation.
  687.
  688. Afterwords, our guide showed us items found in the Abyssal
  689.
  690. Ruins. Among them were 3000 years old objects such as gold coins
  691.
  692. and pots, as well as plates with pictures carved into them.
  693.
  694. Their use remains unknown. These objects that modern technology
  695.
  696. can't analyze, these could truly be proof of the super ancient
  697.
  698. civilization. And where did they get their advanced technology?
  699.
  700. The idea that they got it from the future is perhaps not out of
  701.
  702. the question...
  703.
  704. The key to proving the technology of the super ancient
  705.
  706. civilizations lies in their writing!
  707. One day while in the midst of our investigation, we received a
  708.
  709. letter from an unknown source. The letter was a single sentence,
  710.
  711. "study the symbols." Trusting this mystery letter, we took a
  712.
  713. closer look at the writings in these ruins.
  714.
  715. Other than the ancient writings found in the Abyssal Ruins,
  716.
  717. there are two main ancient writings that were used. One was made
  718.
  719. though different combinations of dots. These can be seen in the
  720.
  721. Dotted Hole in Kanto, and in the Sealed Chamber in Hoenn. It's
  722.
  723. said that deciphering these writing can lead one to special
  724.
  725. Pokemon.
  726.
  727. The other ancient writing is known as the Unown glyphs. These
  728.
  729. can be found the Ruins of Alph in the Johto region, and are very
  730.
  731. similar to the Pokemon Unown.
  732. There are 28 types of Unown, the same number as the glyphs. At
  733.
  734. this time, it's still yet unknown whether the glyphs came first,
  735.
  736. or if the symbols are based on the Unown. Additionally, because
  737.
  738. no eggs have been found, some researchers have theorized that
  739.
  740. Unown have some relation to Ultra Beasts. Perhaps by researching
  741.
  742. the Unown we can come closer to the truth behind the ancient
  743.
  744. ruins. Our challenge still continues.
  745.
  746. Sakuji: And so, our theme now is ancient ruins. My specialty!
  747.
  748. Ask me anything ladies and gentlemen!
  749. Hitomi: I've never seen you this lively...
  750. Oonuki: I feel the same. But let me say this! There's no way
  751.
  752. ancient civilization was more advanced than modern day! Don't
  753.
  754. take scientific advancement so lightly.
  755. Sakuji: No, let's me tell you something! The super ancient
  756.
  757. civilization did exist! There's plenty of evidence for it. Among
  758.
  759. researchers, there's even a theory that they got their
  760.
  761. technology from the future.
  762. Hitomi: Woah, what a wonderful theory... I cast my vote for
  763.
  764. that...
  765. Oonuki: That's putting the cart before the horse! Let's say that
  766.
  767. time travelers from the future did exist, why would they give
  768.
  769. this technology to primitive savages. Why wouldn't they give it
  770.
  771. to say, an intelligent modern man such as myself!
  772. Hitomi: ... I think I can understand why...
  773. Sakuji: I agree.
  774. Oonuki: What does that mean!
  775.
  776. Sakuji: Well, let's put the future talk aside. We have found
  777.
  778. unique writings in these ruins. Having writing-based
  779.
  780. communication could be said to be a sign of advanced society.
  781. Oonuki: Is that so? You think those Seviper trail looking
  782.
  783. squiggles are proof of culture. Even my writing is better.
  784.
  785. *writes note*
  786. Sakuji: ... This is terrible.
  787. Hitomi: It's like the trail of a Zigzagoon... Or the prints of a
  788.
  789. Snorlax who suddenly awoke and ran to find food...
  790. Oonuki: What's that mean!
  791. Hitomi: What did you even write...?
  792. Oonuki: No, you can read it. It says Unown. Unown!
  793. Hitomi: ... You should apologize to the Unown...
  794. Oonuki: What's that!
  795. Sakuji: I'm in agreement with the occult maniac! You must
  796.
  797. apologize immediately! We should hurry to the Ruins of Alph
  798.
  799. right now!
  800. Hitomi: Ufufu... Unown, how fun...
  801. Oonuki: You two just want to go there! Let me go! Let
  802.
  803. gooooooooo!
  804.
  805. The one to create to the ancient world and Pokemon, Arceus!?
  806.
  807. We will now discuss the tale of a certain trainer's strange
  808.
  809. experience. They're said to have went to the Ruins of Alph with
  810.
  811. the mythical Pokemon Arcues.
  812. Then suddenly, their vision went dark, and they seemingly
  813.
  814. teleported to another location. They were in the far away Sinjoh
  815.
  816. Ruins. In these ruins, said to be the fusion of Sinnoh and Johto
  817.
  818. culture, there was a holy stage built to worship Arcues, called
  819.
  820. the Mystri Stage. Legends say that when Arceus gets on the
  821.
  822. stage, time, space, and anti-matter mix and create a new world.
  823.
  824. And so Arceus gives birth the god of time Dialga, the god of
  825.
  826. space Palkia, and the god of anti-matter Giratina.
  827.
  828. The Ultra Beast Debate
  829.
  830. The mysterious beings confirmed to be real in the Alola region,
  831.
  832. Ultra Beasts. Various theories are flying around as to what
  833.
  834. exactly they are. And now specialists of two opposing positions,
  835.
  836. occult and science, have a heated debate to find the truth!
  837.
  838. Debate Start!
  839.
  840. Sudden appearance! Here comes the Ultra Beasts!!
  841. Sightings of Ultra Beasts have increases rapidly in the Alola
  842.
  843. region recently. They are said to be extremely dangerous
  844.
  845. creatures, doing things such as possessing people and swallowing
  846.
  847. buildings.
  848. It is now understood that Ultra Beasts came from another world
  849.
  850. called Ultra Space, through the use of rifts in dimensions
  851.
  852. called Ultra Wormholes.
  853.
  854. What is an Ultra Beast?
  855. They are mysterious beings from another world known as Ultra
  856.
  857. Space. There are multiple species of Ultra Beasts, each with a
  858.
  859. codename among the international police.
  860.
  861. What is Ultra Space?
  862. The overall name of the other world where Ultra Beasts live.
  863.
  864. It's said that many Ultra Beasts live there, but details are
  865.
  866. unclear.
  867.
  868. Terror! The Ultra Beast Project
  869. Additionally, the Aether Foundation is known to have used the
  870.
  871. power of an unknown Pokemon to open Ultra Wormholes! We went to
  872.
  873. the artificial island where the Aether Foundation was studying
  874.
  875. Ultra Beasts, the Aether Paradise. And there we learned that
  876.
  877. this place where the Aether Foundation were performing top
  878.
  879. secret research was also the location of terrifying
  880.
  881. experimentation.
  882.
  883. Oonuki: The Aether Foundation is an organization for protecting
  884.
  885. the injured Pokemon of the Alola region. They also perform
  886.
  887. various research.
  888. Hitomi: There are rumors that unbeknown by the average employee,
  889.
  890. they've been performing dangerous research.
  891.
  892. What are the Ultra Beasts?
  893. We succeeded in contacting someone who was involved in the
  894.
  895. research of Ultra Beasts. And from him we learned the shocking
  896.
  897. truth!
  898.
  899. Interview with Former Aether Foundation Employee A-san
  900. "What I was involved with was the secret project of researching
  901.
  902. the Ultra Beasts that appeared out of the Ultra Wormholes. Many
  903.
  904. Aether Foundation employees are completely unaware of this
  905.
  906. research. In the project I took part in, I performed experiments
  907.
  908. to use to power of an unknown Pokemon to open Ultra Wormholes.
  909.
  910. During one experiment the Aether Foundation lab and Ultra Space
  911.
  912. connected, and Professor Mohn disappeared."
  913.
  914. It seems that the Aether Foundation created an Ultra Wormhole
  915.
  916. themselves, and connected Ultra Space to the Alola region. And
  917.
  918. on further investigation, we found out that a trainer actually
  919.
  920. entered an Ultra Wormhole into Ultra Space and returned back to
  921.
  922. Alola!
  923. The following is the moment an Ultra Wormhole opened up in the
  924.
  925. Aether Foundation, secretly captured on camera by a trainer that
  926.
  927. was there at the time.
  928.
  929. Hitomi: It's said that Ultra Beasts came to our world through
  930.
  931. Ultra Wormholes.
  932. Oonuki: I heard that it was discovered by Professor Mohn, but to
  933.
  934. see it's actually true! No, it must just be a hole caused by Z
  935.
  936. Power!
  937.
  938. Sending a camera into the Ultra Beast's world!
  939. Additionally, we have received pictures of Ultra Space, taken by
  940.
  941. the person said to have visited it. This location seems to have
  942.
  943. been filled with the Ultra Beast known as Nihilego.
  944. This Nihilego uses neurotoxin to unleash people's hearts. There
  945.
  946. are records of possessed people going on a rampage. People
  947.
  948. possessed by Nihilego are also weakened by the poison to the
  949.
  950. point that they can no longer move by their own power.
  951.
  952. Oonuki: Pokemon possessing people and sending them on rampages
  953.
  954. is just nonsense!! It must have just been people panicking
  955.
  956. because a strange Pokemon grabbed them.
  957. Hitomi: There are other records of Pokemon and people joining
  958.
  959. together.
  960.
  961. Strange! The human who fused with a Pokemon!?
  962. The Pokemon maniac Bill, who lives in the Kanto region. Creator
  963.
  964. of the Pokemon transfer system, one day while testing his
  965.
  966. machine an accident caused him to fuse with a Pokemon.
  967. Unable to activate the machine again, Bill was stuck in the form
  968.
  969. of a Pokemon. However he still possessed human speech, and
  970.
  971. received the aid of a passing trainer to return to his original
  972.
  973. form. Bill lived life as usual after this.
  974. Some researchers now look at this incident when trying to find a
  975.
  976. cure for those people who have been possessed by Nihilego.
  977.
  978. This look into the Ultra Space revealed no Ultra Beasts other
  979.
  980. than Nihilego. There may be other Ultra Spaces that contain
  981.
  982. other species of Ultra Beast. Ultra Space contains such shocking
  983.
  984. qualities. There is still much unclear, the research has only
  985.
  986. just begun...
  987.
  988. Hitomi: There a still so many mysteries, but occult researchers
  989.
  990. will undoubtedly uncover the whole picture...
  991. Oonuki: Again with this stupid stuff! The Aether Foundation
  992.
  993. opened the way to Ultra Space with the power of science. Science
  994.
  995. will reveal all!
  996.
  997. Who's words to believe is up to you...
  998.
  999.
  1000.
1001. And that's all of it. The final page is basically just the UBs'
  1002.
1003. Pokedex entries with pictures depicting those entries, ending
  1004.
1005. with "will Necrozma's true form be revealed in Ultra Sun/Ultra
  1006.
  1007. Moon?"
  1008.
  1009.
1010. About the "super ancient civilization". First off I'm not sure
  1011.
1012. if there was a better way to translate other than literally,
  1013.
1014. since it's a term used in real life Japanese occult and
  1015.
1016. pseudoscience circles to discuss the idea of ancient
  1017.
1018. civilizations having advanced technology, possibly gotten from
  1019.
1020. sources like aliens. I'm not sure if there's an English
  1021.
  1022. equivalent.
  1023.
1024. Second, since Japanese generally lacks singular vs plural
  1025.
1026. language, I wasn't sure if they were talking about multiple
  1027.
1028. civilizations or one super empire or something. I flip-flopped
  1029.
1030. on translating as singular or plural, and mostly wrote the
  1031.
1032. former. But after thinking about it and seeing people's posts,
  1033.
1034. my thoughts personally is that it's more multiple civilizations
  1035.
1036. with heavy trade between them that all suffered some sort of
  1037.
1038. Bronze Age collapse type event that heavily destabilized them
  1039.
1040. all and caused the abandonment of the ruins found in the games.
