  3. The easiest and most accurate way to convert manga EPUBs to CBZ format is by using EPUB2CBZ, a free Windows tool with English, German, and Japanese UI support.

  12. How to convert:
  13. 1. Place all .epub files into a single folder (preferably empty).
  14. 2. Launch epub2cbz-gui.exe.
  15. 3. Click the folder (📁) button and select the folder containing your EPUBs.
  16. 4. (Optional) To convert specific files only, create a mangalist.txt in the same folder, listing one filename per line. Then check the "Use mangalist.txt" option in the GUI.
  17. 5. Adjust settings as needed (ComicInfo.xml, image extraction, etc.). All are ON by default – click the settings (⚙️) icon for advanced options.
  18. 6. Press Start and wait for conversion to complete.

  21. - Output files are in .cbz format, which is just a ZIP file with a different extension. You can open them with 7-Zip or WinRAR.
  22. - A ComicInfo.xml file is included by default inside each CBZ. This stores metadata like series name, volume number, and reading direction, useful for Komga/Kavita servers.
  23. - If you only want the images, uncheck “Create ComicInfo.xml” in the settings.

  27. 🔁 Alternative Method (Not Recommended): Using Calibre
  28.  
  29. Calibre can be used to convert EPUB to ZIP/JPG format, but it's less reliable for manga due to issues with image order and RTL (right-to-left) support.

  31. For individual books:
  32. 1. Open Calibre and add the EPUB.
  33. 2. Click "Convert Books", choose PDF as the output format (top right), then convert.
  34. 3. Click "Convert Books" again, change the input format to PDF (top left), choose ZIP as output (top right), then convert.

  36. For bulk conversion:
  37. 1. Add all EPUB files into Calibre.
  38. 2. Select all books, then click "Convert Books", set output to PDF, then convert.
  39. 3. After that, select all books again, right-click, go to "Remove books", then "Remove files of a specific format of selected books".
  40. 4. Select EPUB, then click OK.
  41. 5. Select all books again, click "Convert Books", set output to ZIP, then convert.
