- The Synthetic led Nidaz down, deeper and deeper into the bowels of the building. Eventually, she wave a hand over a sensor next to a door, and it slid open. In she went, gesturing for him to join her.
- The room within was relatively plain, save for an installation at the end of it. A table rested there, several wires connected to it, and above it a large metal funnel. The Synthetic shell she'd built with Nidaz was next to it, ready to go.
- "First I need to hook up the shell, and then we get into details."
- The shell was picked up and placed on the table, Lucy getting to plugging in the wires to dozens of visible sockets. It took about fifteen minutes, but eventually she moved over to the console beside it, bringing it up and active with a light hum.
- "Alright. I took the liberty of purging the heart of Lyndis earlier; all her memories are in a separate archive that I can access from here. I purged the notable seditious ones, but even then I'd advise using as little as possible."
- In any case, now was the moment of truth.
- "Explain to me what you would like this Synthetic to be in terms of memory. Feel free to use examples of those uploaded to the Coalescence, it'll make it a little easier to search."
- (Lucy)
- Having provided Asura a citizenship certificate, now was the time to continue the creation of his new daughter! That is, the construction of a Synth, determined as a member of his family.
- As expected.
- Floating just behind the synth, the necromancer went on, his silver eyes analyzing the places they passed through until they finally arrived at the room they would be working on..
- Oh, the strange one that Augustus had shown to him!
- Once there, he floated to the cushions, taking the time to sit down, stopping from floating. His gaze then turned to Lucy, where he kept his full attention on her while she spoke..
- Only beggining to speak in the end.
- "Well that saved us time, which is clearly a positive point for us to focus on what matters for this project." He would respond while the synth explained something that she had already done.
- And now for memories of what to put, he would ponder, "One moment.." He asked while trying to remember, "Ah! Very well, I would like you to put some knowledge from the former Commander Faudain and also Alpha, both extra-ordinary figures from the past.
- Their knowledge would probably come in handy.
- Mm, the medical knowledge on the part of Amelia's Synth would also be welcome at this very moment, to add a little more to what we had in mind! After all, it was Amelia that taught me medicine, she is great at it, as her Synths.
- Finally, I believe that parts of Lyndis' personality alone will be enough! Other than that, add basic knowledge about our history and important figures, such as former Council members and those who hold important positions in the Empire!" He would start to list what he wanted, in the end concluding his speech with a nod.
- That should probably be enough. If Lucy wanted to add something more, she could! For what suits this situation the best.
- (Nidaz)
- A nod followed, the Synthetic's hands beginning to type rapidly as she hit multiple runic sequences that would mark memories as desirable. The work progresses at a slow pace, but in fairness there was much to add. Lyndis' baseline personality was brought up, certain aspects removed or modified as necessary.
- "Lyndis struggled with her emotions, so allow me to offer a gift. A few memories of my own."
- She quickly input another sequence, Lucy's own memories of her onboarding -namely the parts in which she understood the origin of her emotions and the like. From there, the general ones came. History, hierarchy, culture, everything required. For the sake of expectations, she even added a basic knowledge of Fleshcrafting -enough to get started, nothing more- before nodded.
- "We've an excellent template here. So, here we go."
- She hit the initiate button.
- The machine began to hum.
- (Lucy)
- Apparently everything was accepted without any major problems, even better because of something that was offered, something that Nidaz itself did not expect coming from Lucy at that moment!
- "Really? Perfect, my dear friend! I thank you for your contribution which will not be forgotten.
- Truly."
- His voice would sound steadily and a momentary smile would show on the old man's features.. He was clearly content, because? Because that this was probably more than necessary, it was everything that they needed, so it was splendid!
- Then the button was pressed and the machine turned on.
- Incredible!
- "Let's do it!" He would say, looking ahead in the direction of the machine.
- (Nidaz)
- "Given I'm soon to retire the background, its only fitting I leave a little of myself in those to come. After all, as much as you are this Synthetic's father, I am mother."
- The machine continued to hum, building in intensity as silver mana started to run through some of the wiring. The new Synthetic's circuits began to fill with it, Coalescence mana empowering it, preparing it for the final stage as the upload continued.
- It didn't take long, the entirety of the circuits glowing as the soul infusion came closer to completion. And then, with a clunk, the machine hum faded slowly as it spun down.
- "Alright, final step."
- Energy built along her hand, sparking arcs of lightning as she thrust it towards the placement of the core. A jolt rushed through the Synthetic, and when the mana circuitry remained active, she nodded, pleased.
- "Alright. We're done. She'll take some time for the memories to settle -it could be a year, or less- and then her self-image will mould her human-like appearance."
- She nodded to the newly born Synthetic.
- "You can move her to a more convenient place. When the quicksilver begins to form physical features instead of clinging like a second skin, leave her be until the form is fully established."
- That was it!
- (Lucy)
- "Mm, I think that I will also be retiring from the leadership position soon, but I intend to continue my projects even when I retire.
- As expected, work never ends!
- And.. The time has come for a new generation to take care of the biggest problems, while I deal with the smallest things around to ensure that everything stays in order.. Yes, as always." He comments first with a nod, "Ah, well.. That is a point of view, so would that make you part of my family? Or something like this? Uh.." He would start babbling looking at the ground, confused and thoughtful about it.
- And in the background the machine continued to make noise, and Coalescence to do its job of energizing the new synth! In that Nidaz had already come to himself and was looking anxiously for the last steps.
- "OK!" He would mumble quickly, while Lucy finished the work.
- After a few moments, apparently everything was completed. What was missing now was time for the synth to stabilize and the memories to settle properly.
- "Oh, right. I'll be taking her to the vault of my house, where she will be able to remain safe. I will place one of my abominations to protect her, until she is stabilized." He would begin to say, snapping his fingers and the undead already approaching to collect the synth.
- But they were waiting for a sign from Lucy as confirmation so they could do that.
- And with that they had finally completed the creation of Nidaz's daughter!
- (Nidaz)
- A shrug.
- "More a surrogate."
- That seemed like a better description; she had not, after all, built this Synthetic to be her child. In any case, the suggestion of keeping her in the vault was met with a nod.
- "That is wise; the Synthetic-making process is secret, and its best it remain that way."
- In any case, she smiled at the new child.
- "Treat her well, and make sure she remains loyal. Farewell, Nidaz."
- She made a departure shortly after.
- (Lucy)
